Dear Winchestertonians, The following are my top 5 reasons you should skip the neighboring Walmart this week(and every week hereafter) and make Aldi número uno for your groceries. 1.) Ecofriendly practices: similar to Switzerland and the majority of Europe, you are not entitled to bags at Aldi, you either bring your reusable bags from home or pay the price. Wish other establishments would pick up this practice to make it the norm and not a «hassle.» 2.) Cheese selection: Seriously, goat cheese log for $ 2.19 in comparison to Kroger’s $ 4 log of the exact same size? $ 2.99 for a Brie roll? Brilliance! My unbridled cheese purchasing has officially been given the green flag. 3.) Simplicity: Since when do we need to scour through 10 acres of a megastore to find rolled oats and almond milk?(which leads me to number four…) 4.) Great health food selections — budget-friendly produce sales and healthy snacks available. The set up of the store really makes you think about what’s important and necessary and what is fluff/extra. 5.) Prices. Lightly mentioned in items #2 and #4, but this is truly the lure for most Aldi-goers. Hard-to-beat prices on the good stuff like Greek Yoghurt and broccoli. I strolled out of the store today with two heaping bags of produce and tummy-friendly foods for only $ 22. Sincerely, Brittany S
