My dear friend of 30+ years lives near here and recommended this place. In fact, her eyes lit up as she talked about it. SO GLAD WE DECIDED TO STAY HERE!!! It may not look like much on the outside for some; although I found it very cute and quaint. WAIT UNTIL YOU GO INSIDE! Each room has a different theme and is spotless gorgeous! The furnishings beautiful, the bed extremely comfortable! We were in room 9. This place happily accepted my two dogs and had a small fenced run with dog bags for the «stuff» they leave behind. The staff so friendly. You are extremely aware when staying here that a lot of love and care went into this place and was Jean’s passion. Sadly she recently passed away and I am so sorry to the staff, family and friends for your loss. She sounds like she was an amazing woman. Now her granddaughter is caring for it until Jean’s daughter can get there and I don’t see them losing the love and passion Jean had for this place anytime soon. A room that should be at least $ 125 is under half that!

Super clean and seems to be newly refurbished. Rooms offer individual personalities of their own. Great value and a small (9 unit) charm which offers a personal touch. Sam, I am assuming is short for Samantha, greeted us with a warm personal touch. Beats the heck out of comparably priced options!

We loved this place. The rooms were very nice. All decorated differently. Jean the owner was great. We fell in loved with her 3 little puppies. We can’t wait to go back next month.

Thank you Unilocal!Without Unilocal we wouldn’t have found such a charming, clean, quiet and perfectly situated motel. There’s markets close by and were close to the highway but it still quiet for us to relax after a long day of riding. Jean, the owner, is such a doll. The rooms are each unique and charming. We’re in room 1 and 6 and they both different and comfortable. Thanks again! We’ll be back.

Clean, nicely-​decorated, bathtub, microwave and fridge, cozy, good-​size, nice, comfortable and big beds. The motel’s owner, Jean, is fantastic! She showed us several rooms, so we could pick up the one we liked the most. She even offered us to pay up-​front or at check out. She gave good recommendations for dinner and breakfast places. This is a very nice motel to stop by if you’re traveling through Oregon’s coast. You get more than what you pay for.

Reasonable, clean and friendly doesn’t even begin to describe your stay at Salmon Harbor Landing. We have stayed in various rooms & the vacation house rental over the past 5 years. Jean is an exceptional hostess. The rooms are all decorated as if you were staying in a B&B…as other reviews have mentioned the parking is tight, but that is the only downfall that could be possibly said about this charming little gem.

Oozing charm, dirt cheap, little road noise but so comfy I didn’t notice!
Full kitchen available in some rooms.
Awesome area to walk down to the marina, stage for atving, and a short jaunt to the ocean and dunes.

My wife and I love staying here. Jean is a character. She will do anything to make your stay like being at home. A few years ago, my parents came to Winchester Bay with my wife and I. Jean asked me to come with her to help get my father a recliner chair she wanted him to have in his room.
All the rooms are clean and well stocked with toiletries. Beds are firm, not soft or hard.
If ever you are staying in the area, you should stay here. There are 9 rooms, and for large families she has a mobile home at a reasonable price.
I would give Salmon Harbor 5 stars, but parking is a little tight. I have pulled a 22′ enclosed trailer and Jean made room for me to park near the Highway on the property. Overall the best place to stay in Winchester Bay.

Charming owner, excellent location and super clean! Each room is different — mine was very comfortable and well-​appointed. I got a great nights sleep and would go there again when I’m at the coast. This motel is worth it!

I too have met the owner, Jean. She is wonderfully unique. What an interesting lady to talk to. She was very welcoming, kind and a funny lady. She showed us quite a few of her rooms. We had reservations to stay in one of them and she upgraded us at no charge to her vacation rental for the weekend. The rooms and her vacation rental are very, very clean and the furnishing are quite nice. She does have a cute little antique store in her lobby. The motel itself is right off the highway, close to the water, close to hunting areas and close to stores and restaurants. We spent two nights there and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks for a great stay, Jean!

Let me make this point first… This review is being done even though I have NOT stayed here. I have however met the owner, a lady named Jean, and quite a character. The lobby area is actually an antique shop and this is what brought me to meeting Jean in the first place. While there she was very excited to show us her rooms that she had very recently redecorated herself, and the pride of ownership was very apparent in the 4 rooms we saw, each is unique, with beautiful antique furniture and are very clean. I can also tell you that I about dropped when she told me her rates. Let me just say you will not find a nicer place on the coast for a rate as LOW as she quoted. If your looking for someplace to stay while in the area, please take the time to look her up, she has a website that shows the rooms, and I am sure you won’t be disappointed! Happy Travels…

It may not seem like much from the road, or the rate — but this place is heaven! King bed with puffy, clean comforter, a gas ‘fire’ place and nice décor. For $ 70 I never expected such a wonderful experience! Shampoo n such, the towels are fluffy and smell awesome. Save yourself the time and effort of searching an just book here. (We stayed in room #9)

Wonderful surprise! Off the side of the highway, prices are great, clean rooms, little things are thought of like shampoo and sugar for coffee. Beds are AMAZING! The owner is so nice!
