Matthew, Rachel and the staff of The Leaning Pear made our wedding reception fabulous! We were early and the staff made our entire family comfortable on the patio while serving mimosas, and then lunch was amazing! Wonderful food and fantastic ambiance!

Wow! The Leaning Pear has interesting atmosphere, and amazing food! I ate in the treehouse! Did you read that? I ate in a treehouse! What can speak to the inner child more? I don’t know? Maybe excellent service and food! The waitress was attentive and polite: making sure to make a solo diner feel comfortable. I ordered the half salad/half sandwich. The fried green tomato sandwich has a lovely focaccia bread with just the right amount of melted cheese! I cannot praise the house salad enough! It has feta, pears, pecans, and a light dressing that makes me wish I could eat here every day! What a treat in a tree! Definitely recommend! Even if tree-houses are not your thing, the inside is lovely, and the patio is charming with umbrellas to shade the sun! Don’t miss out, lean over this way when in Wimberley!

a dish of floppy reheated waffle and bland no-frills chicken left a bad taste and regrets for not trying Wimberley’s less-frequented establishments. Better luck next time.

The building is beautiful. Their craft beer selection is disappointing. No cocktails, just limited beer and wine. The food is plated more beautifully than it tastes. Good service, slightly disappointed.

Probably the«finest» dining in Wimberley. Compared to local competition, this is as good as it gets. If you compare it to some awesome place in Austin — go back for that type of food! It will fall short compared outside of the locality. Wait staff is always efficient and nice. Food is consistently fresh and good. I enjoy going here whenever I can convince my wife to go out for date night. Salads are awesome and are my go to meals.

Been here twice over about a 4 year period(both the old and new location) and loved it both times. Highly recommend the House Salad Trio and the Fried Green Tomato sandwich — both were great and filling. You must get their iced tea, which has a great passion fruit flavor without having extra sweetener. Great place to stop when visiting Market Days or whenever you’re in Wimberly!

Had a great lunch here over Memorial Day weekend! I was impressed that they accommodated our large group on short notice. The patio and treehouse are beautiful and make the visit worth it on its own. I liked how stylish and intentional everything was – kind of a new look for Wimberley! The squash pizza was a hit, as were the chicken and waffles, and the staff was super friendly.

Our new favorite spot in Wimberley! Husband had the Cuban sandwich. Mustard was so delicious and fresh. The pulled pork was seasoned so perfectly, sweet and smoky. Top it off with delicious fluffy bread! I had the poblano pimento cheese sandwich with watermelon. I am VERY picky about pimento cheese. This one was fabulous, loved the hint of heat from the poblano. The rye bread was the fluffiest I’ve ever had. I don’t think you’ll find rye bread like that anywhere else!

I came here with a few friends that live out in the area so I didn’t take any pics of the deliciousness. Talkie talkie. Which apparently everyone goes there to do because there was that chatty buzz… but maybe that’s because it was about 90% women. HA! Tons of women, it looked like mothers day or something, but only the mothers were getting together. Anyway, this place was good. It was cute, with a treehouse and nice décor, and lot’s of windows. I’m usually skeptical of something that looks hip and cool… but it matched, it did. The food was great! Had the Bedigo Pizza with butternut squash and lamb meatballs… so GOOD. And a salad I can’t remember the name of but it was super fresh and delicious. Pizzas, salads, sammies. Great little american spot… great prices. Parking-if you wear heels, I’d leave your 4−5″ heels at home because you may have to park far.

I was in town for a work meeting and someone suggested this place for lunch. The restaurant itself is cute and outside it overlooks a nice foresty area. Someone said they were watching deer go on through. Our group of 7 fit at one table but I’m not sure you could have a larger group outside. The good was delicious. I had the fried green tomato sandwich with potato salad and both were very tasty. The potato salad on particular was excellent! And I had a nice limeade to drink — you don’t always get that option. It came with chips which I don’t like and there was no other option. I think overall everyone at the table liked their food. The iced tea was popular.

Excellent customer service and incredible food. The chef made a vegan butternut squash and gingered tomato pizza for me, and my husband loved his curried veggie trout. This place is gorgeous and perfect for a date night!

Great location, good food. One of the locals had suggested that we come here, rather than to the town diner. The setting is wonderful, with an open feel, and plenty of outdoor seating(with powerful ceiling fans!). The staff is friendly, and the background music was perfect… a blend of everything from Willie Nelson tunes to Zydeco grooves. We puzzled over the dinner menu for a bit, as the prices were really inconsistent, especially when choosing between the only 2 vegetarian/pescetarian entrées: $ 10.75 for the Mac & Cheese, or $ 21.75 for the Grilled Steelhead Trout. This felt like more of a rustic, late afternoon thing than a fancy dinner thing(it wasn’t quite 5pm when we sat down), so I decided against the trout. The Mac & Cheese was cooked perfectly, with plenty of various gooey cheeses melted consistently throughout. It didn’t come with any veggies though, so I ordered the Iceberg Wedge($ 7). My salad was lovely: fresh, crisp, delicious. Mom got the Corned Beef Reuben($ 8.50), and liked it very much. My sweetheart got The Clarita(wood-fired pizza). I thought it was tasty, but my sweetie didn’t care for it. We did both like the crust. The food was solid, quite good, even. Based on our particular menu choices, I’d say that it was worth the money. While the other, double-priced items are probably also yummy, I’m not sure that their pricing is appropriate. Overall, I like this place, and would recommend it if you’re in town.

First off the tea. Nothing like I’ve ever taste before the iced tea had a nice fruity that to it that was a remarkable. Scratch that… first off the atmosphere!!! Man if every restaurant I went to looked like this my friends probably wouldn’t call me skinny anymore lol. So I lucked up and got the Bendigo pizza. Seems Indian inspired and I absolutely love it. It has the taste of the hill country farm produce including butternut squash, I believe basil, and lamb! I looked up reviews and they didn’t lead me wrong. For dessert I got the lemon Panna cotta. It was refreshing lemony and succulent with blueberry compote. Wild blueberry compote hence the non steroidal size. A definite must in the Hill country. Glad I’m blessed with the ability to come here I’ll be back soon.

We stopped in for an early dinner while staying at a bed and breakfast for the weekend. The Leaning Pear is a modern and very attractive restaurant with lots of natural wood, natural light, and an appealing ambience. We had arrived a bit before they started dinner service, so we sipped on a couple of craft beers and enjoyed looking out at the beautiful trees and open spaces around the restaurant. Our server was informed and very pleasant and made us feel welcomed. When dinner started, she brought us our menu and although it was substantially the same as the lunch menu, there were a few additions to the entrees that were in the mid-twenties price range. We decided to split the Wedge Salad, since it sounded so unusual. Figs, and a Blue Cheese Ranch dressing? I’m in! The tortilla strips gave it that little extra crunch and of course, we added bacon! The dressing on this salad was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with fruit instead of chips and my husband ordered the Hangar Steak with Roasted Poblano Butter, Crispy Yukon Potato, Corn and Tomato. He definitely won the tasty contest! His steak was perfectly cooked and the roasted poblano butter was a great note. The potatoes and tomatoes were great, but we found the corn a bit undercooked, although very fresh. My sandwich arrived with chips, although the waitress noticed it immediately and brought me a small cup of grapes(which did not look too tasty) to make up for it. I took a bite of my Reuben and realized it wasn’t a real corned beef taste or texture, there was no discernible swiss cheese on it(which might have helped the flavor profile), no dressing taste, and worst of all, the sauerkraut was anemic with no vinegar bite at all. It tasted a bit like a brisket sandwich on rye with some strands of cabbage in it. I asked for some dressing on the side, hoping to salvage the meal, but the dressing itself had a strong bell pepper note, so I had to pass. The waitress was very apologetic and offered me another entrée, but I had a few bites of my husband’s excellent hangar steak and since the wedge salad had been rich and filling, decided to take a pass. They removed the sandwich from our bill and we considered it a two out of three experience.

Nice location with great outdoor seating. Love the fact they allow dogs on the patio and the heated tree house. The food is solid. We had the sausage pizza, meatloaf and chicken & grits. All were quite good. Definitely a place to revisit next time we are in Wimberley.

Love this place… my only gripe is that they’re in Wimberley and not Austin! Everything we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend the crab cakes. Service was wonderful and the design of the restaurant is beyond appealing. I wouldn’t call it fancy… or cute… but it was very… trendy Texan. I’ll be eating here every time I’m in Wimberley, without a doubt!

the service and food were impeccable, took a star off ‘cuz they’re a tad pricey… just a tad. The pulled pork Sammy was very good, and about 3 napkins worth of messy, my wife indulged in a decadent cup of lentil bacon soup and of course I helped with both items. I had the combo of pimento cheese, tuna salad and chicken salad… very good. Awesome view off the back deck, we’d come here again when visiting the town of Wimberley. The people of this area were friendly, every place we shopped and ate, it’s a pleasure doing business with people that appreciate it.

We absolutely loved this place. The atmosphere is laid back & the service was good. We sat in the tree house patio and it had good air flow with the fans wasn’t too hot, and the view was pretty. They have an interesting menu. We had the tomato & blue cheese bisque and it was delicious, as well as the pork chop sandwich. Then we had the lemon panna with blueberries, which I think was the best thing we had there! Hard to qualify since everything was good. No complaints, I love it here. We drove from San Antonio again last weekend to have brunch there and the food, atmosphere & service was great yet again.
