Outstanding. I have been many times when I drive in from Austin but this is the first review. My go to meal is the cheese enchiladas. Today, I added ground beef to them, and they were out of this world. This has become my favorite mexican restaurant. Prices are unbelievable and the employees are fantastic. The only downfall is they don’t accept credit cards, but the food is so good, who cares. Must go.

This is my family’s go to restaurant in Wimberley. Ask everyone where they want to go and this is it. I think my wife is getting tied if it though. If your reading this, you likely already know that they only take cash. Be prepared or they have a high feed ATM right inside. Service is beat and quick. Food is super cheap and you get a lot of it. Everyone loves the queso. You get much more than you get chips even small. My favorite is the big burrito. It is huge and good. Get it, or at least try it.

We came here based on the rating. I didn’t read the reviews that were mostly breakfast related. They have a nice porch area and it was a beautiful day. We had the place to ourselves so the kids could play and burn some energy. The food overall was good. The burgers were fantastic. The Mexican food was decent. The fajitas could use more grilled onions. The beans were weak, they need to add something to their canned refried beans. The rice was ok. I would also recommend upgrading the tortillas… not a fan. They get 5 stars for the atmosphere. It almost reminded me of sitting on the porch of a taqueria in Tijuana. Work on the food and this place will be a hit.

Exquisite. We pulled in for take-out breakfast tacos, and we were not disappointed. This roadside hole-in-the-wall produces yummy and filling breakfast fare… good enough that we reprised our breakfast the following day. We’re from the Rio Grande Valley, so it was a culture shock to see college kids behind the counter and in the kitchen. But Mima has her recipes(wrapped in soft, fluffy white tortillas) so well established that they’re consistent every time, no matter who’s cooking. A new favorite in Wimberley.

Great no-fuss taco shop! Breakfast tacos were perfect and hit the spot. Staff were very nice and let us know about Monday $ 12-ingredient tacos. Lots of locals there, which is always a good thing. Will definitely return.

Oh yes. Really good, fairly inexpensive Tex– Mex. The food is tasty and service is quick. Its very, very casual and has a «greasy spoon» feel to it. But whenever I have a hankering for mexican food, its the first place I think of. They are just hitting a great flavor with their food. I highly recommend if you are looking for some take out or a quick lunch at one of their tables, this is a great choice.

Everything I’ve had at Mima’s is really good… especially their burgers! They don’t always have burgers, so definitely call ahead to check, but they’re worth the little bit of effort. The staff always seem nice and friendly.

Good tacos, terrible parking, waitstaff who probably bullied you in high school. Cash only is a drag, but it’s the only reliable quality taco in town since Crucitas died. I wish I could replace them with Shamrock tacos, but the setup in that gas station is weird and the tacos are hit and miss. At least at Mima’s you’ll get the same quality every time, even if it’s served with a side of remembering how you never got picked in sports.

This place has a great breakfast. We tried the huevos rancheros and the kitchen sink. The kitchen sink was good but a little greasy. The huevos rancheros were really great. Their tortillas are fantastic, and their refried beans are among the best I’ve ever had. Cash only FYI, but they have a ATM inside. Nice little patio outside.

The homemade tortillas on their breakfast tacos are the bomb. Their prices are super reasonable for the amount of taco that you get. Salsas were also above average. Service was friendly and the outdoor patio was shaded and relaxing. They will gladly refill your drinks at the counter. Cash only. We will be back for a weekend breakfast again as soon as we can!

Good breakfast tacos make me happy. And what I’ve found to be the key component of my favorite breakfast tacos is the tortilla. The tortillas at Mima’s are soft and airy, made fresh in-house, just delicious. The toppings and salsas were very good too. The potatoes in my PEC were cubed/diced and fried up golden brown just the way I like it. I also tried a barbacoa taco which was moist but needed a bit more seasoning, but very tasty nonetheless.

I am not giving this place 5 stars, mainly because I’m not from Wimberley! I grew up in a small town(Kerrville) and of course would give my local favorites rave reviews because I grew up eating it and probably know people who worked there, worked there myself, have memories there, etc, but maybe someone just coming through would say«meh». That’s how I feel about this place. It’s your run of the mill ‘tex-mex’, nothing to complain about food wise, but nothing stands out. My only complaint is with the service. The kids working there are all very friendly, hard working people. I worked in food service many years and am not quick to judge or dog on people in these types of jobs-it can really suck and I understand that. However, every time I have eaten here(mind you this has only been 3 times, but that’s three too many) I have seen a complaint by a customer be dealt with very unprofessionally. One lady got a wrong order and I overheard the girl working tell her(paraphrasing): «Next time, listen when I repeat your order back». I totally get that sentiment, but you never actually SAY that to a customer. I just ordered some nachos to go, picked them up, and when I got to work to eat them the chips were so stale I could not eat it(also, I’m SOO not picky, I’ll eat some sort of stale chips and not bitch, but DUDE). I called and let them kno(very nicely, I really hate complaining to people!) and I was told that that’s what happens when nachos are ordered to-go, but they’ll credit me for some free chips(«the toppings are still good, and we know the chips were good»). Well, maybe all of that is correct, but the point is I’m a customer, I payed for food, it was bad quality, and now I have to argue in order to get it fixed. That’s just immaturity(high schoolers working there) and quite honestly BADBUSINESS. Anyway, it’s cheap, you get what you pay for, and just try to get everything right and listen to your order so you don’t have to argue with anyone in case something goes wrong!

The day before my wedding, my buddies and I spent a good bit of time eating and hanging out at a river house. And what better Saturday morning food to wake up to than breakfast tacos, provided by your local Mima’s Kitchen? Interestingly, Wimberley doesn’t have more than a couple places to grab breakfast tacos, which I feel is an anomaly in Texas! Even in towns that are pretty darn slow on Saturday mornings. Here, the breakfast tacos come best in their fluffy, flour tortillas – no gluten free folks out in Wimberley. The tortillas err on the side of thick, white tortillas, not the thinner ones that are used for quesadillas. These are straight up pita-like. Biggest praise was no food poisoning, especially in light of the pretty grimy interior of the restaurant. Eggs were simple and tasty, as they meat provided plenty of flavor and oomph. It is only on travel weekends that I afford myself 3 big fat flour tortillas before 11AM. Mima’s, you started my final day as a single well. Thanks.

Good breakfast tacos, friendly service and plenty of fixings at the salsa’s bar. If your in a rush, or just don’t want to wait, call in your order before you head over there. Warning to fellow city folks who are just visiting: CASHONLY

Should probably have gone for breakfast — everyone seems to give raves for that. We were looking for dinner, and to eat in. Might have been better if we’d just ordered food for take out(or to eat outdoors on a warmer night.) Maybe they’d had a hard day — but the place just wasn’t clean. Though there was only one solo diner in the place, all but one of the other tables had dirty dishes on them, and there were crumpled napkins on the floor near the window where you place your order. Add that to the fact that the menu was greasy and had enough dried food on it that it stuck to our hands. And, in the very small room, the TV was Loud. Sorry Mima, we didn’t try your food. Possibly our loss, but we can’t be sure.
