My wife has been hinting that she wanted the 1998 Garth Brooks album Double Live so yesterday I decided I would buy it as a surprise. Big mistake, apparently this album is near impossible to find. After calling around to eight different stores, someone suggested I try Yellow Dog Discs. Not sure why but I always thought this was a Frisbee store. Sure enough they had the album. When I walked in the guy had it waiting for me at the counter. I walked around for bit and was excited to see an amazing selection of CD and vinyl in a clean, well-lit shop. The CD was used so it was only $ 7.99. This will be the first place I check when looking for an old CD.

First time to Wilmington on vacation. Thanks to my Vinyl District app I found Yellow Dog. Nice little store with smallish selection but the owner seems to know what he/she is doing. Found a small handful of Vinyl, including RSD stuff I was still missing and a Kim Fowley production I didn’t have, for cheap. Also saw a 2005 Kinks UK box but it was overpriced and clerk wasn’t allowed to discount it. On my 2nd visit I talked to a guy who immediately agreed to reduce the price. Happy customer! The only thing I didn’t care for was that store carried DVD’s. If this store would’ve been all music it could’ve been even better but I’m sure the neighborhood needed a DVD store, otherwise they wouldnt do something silly like that. And perhaps a collectables section would have been nice for vinyl hardcore folks like me -:). Will be back in October when we’re back at beach.

Cool people, cool place, good prices for the most part. The amount of store credit they provide for quality merchandise could be better, but they’re superior to many other similar ventures in this regard. Recommended.

Yellow Dog… My first Vinyl experience in Wilmington. I didn’t even know how much I’d grow to love you. It’s a pretty large shop in a shopping center near a grocery store and a TJ Maxx and a sushi place I frequent. so it’s easy to find a reason to stop in. I love them because they are friendly when I walk in… They are quick to answer any questions I may have. about records, old and unreleased yet, video games, etc. They stand behind their products. They have a great selection. I’ve bought probably 15 or more used vinyls from here. and about 60% play through without interuption. which is great considering the cost. and I love picking up an old record for a few bucks. I hate when they don’t play well. but it’s the risk we take. New ones are new. so my only mention here is that they can get it for you if you ask them. Otherwise, I’d send anyone here that hasn’t been and is in the market for records. or even CD’s(why are you in the market for CD’s) and video games. old school NES, SNES, and Genesis is abundant here!

We were vacationing at the beach and needed something to entertain the kids so we purchased an Xbox from Yellow Dog. They stood behind their product and I really appreciate that. Highly recommended!
