I only come to Ulta for high end cosmetics or Matrix hair products. Since Ulta charges too much for common brands such as L’Oreal, Maybelline and Cover Girl. Although the staff is nice, this location is almost always a mess. I have been to several other locations and this one is definitely messy. Maybe the Ulta Co. needs to hire more staff. It may very well be that they are so busy at this location that the present staffing levels aren’t sufficient. It is right next to the Concord Mall.

Never been in an ultra as I’m a guy and typically don’t need their products. I needed a face wash that was gentle to the skin, but could remove dark spots. I received decent service as they answered all my questions.

I traveled an hour from my home to shop at this store to take advantage of their«buy two, get one liter free» sale that happens for a very limited time in December. Unfortunately, they did not have the exact type of product I was looking for; but had several others within the same brand… and the sale ends in less than a week! A Manager named Frank was very very helpful, and told me I could easily exchange one type of shampoo for another type once it was in stock. He even offered to vouch for me if I wanted to exchange the product at another location. I made the purchase and got the liter free, knowing I could exchange it for the correct product once it was indeed in stock. Frank at Ulta Wilmington saved the day for me. Thank you, Frank!

If you’re looking for a good esthetician go see Lacresa at this Ulta location! She is amazing! She’s very knowledgeable and knows what she’s talking about. I went to her because I was suffering from acne and she gave a skin care regimen and other helpful advice about my skin. After 3 days of following the regimen I already see a difference in my skin. She’s seriously a miracle worker!

the salon manager is the rudest person I’ve ever encountered, beside being unprofessional, dishonest, with a nasty and vicious attitude; no wonder why people who work there are even worse than her with that kind of training. They manipulate customers’ good faith for their own nasty and despicable dishonest interest. DONOTGOTHEREFORANYSALONSERVICE: ITISTHEWORSERIPOFFEVER

I had the worst manicure I ever received here. The lady who did my manicure was shaking, as she told me, «she was hungry» so I had gel nail polish all on my fingers around my nails, she missed whole sides of my nails, then yelled at me for, «tilting my hand in the dryer and making it slide off.» … she only had one gel dryer on my left side so when I crossed my right hand to go in, since she was painting my left hand, it was at an angle and kept getting screwed up. I had this manicure on a Thursday evening and by Saturday it already started coming off(because it was polished over the skin and cuticle!) Such a waste of money!!! On top of it, the lady who did my manicure was telling me how her«daughet isn’t stupid and won’t move in with a boy until she has a ring…» As someone living with my boyfriend, I was very surprised that she would start saying tihngs like that, not knowing my situation. And personally, I wanted to tell her I don’t find it stupid at all, It’s practical in that I would rather find out that we weren’t going to be able to live together now before we’re married rather than after!

I don’t know what it is, but maybe because it was Sunday and they were very busy, but I just felt like most of the associates working here didn’t want to be bothered or were just plain flustered. The cashiers were fine, though! No real issues there. I was looking for a specific beauty sponge and the guy who I asked for help seemed to be so rushed and so frantic, that I thought that I was doing something bad by asking him for help. I didn’t appreciate him telling me «maybe you should have called before you came over» after telling me that it was not in stock. I was going to Shoprite across the road, so what the hell buddy? At least he told me when they were getting their shipments in. That brings me to today. I called the store and was on hold for just around 18 minutes while someone said they’d check to see if this sponge was in stock. I ended up hanging up, calling back and getting someone else on the phone who did tell me that they did not have it. I love the fact that Ulta has a crapload of cosmetics, hair care products, accessories, etc. etc., but sometimes the people working here seem like they don’t want to be there or they don’t want to be bothered. And God forbid you try to engage in a conversation with them regarding a product, it’s like you’re taking away their ‘chat’ time that they could be having with co-workers. It’s a shame that there’s no Sephora closer, or else I’d shop there.

I went there for a haircut and a perm after moving back from California. Denise in the salon was very efficient and friendly and did a great job. She did a good job of cleaning up my hair from a poor hair cut from 4 months ago. This store is also great because you are able to try most of the products to see if you like them before you buy.

I had just recently started shopping at Ulta, specifically this location on Concord Pike, next to Concord Mall. I’m not a big cosmetics buyer, but I decided to try this place on a whim to see if they had a good eyebrow pen, as I draw my eyebrows and wanted to try something other than a pencil. While there, I joined their members program where you get mailings with promotions on sales and coupons. That in turn led me to buy my first ever makeup kit full of different shades of eyeshadow, lipstick, lip gloss, and blush for a discounted price and a nice case. Very good buy, by the way, and I’ve been happily experimenting with new shades and combinations since. Anywho, I had seen their salon in the back on previous visits, and recently decided to try their salon for the first time ever. I had just come off the heels of an uneven cut at the Regis in the mall next door, and thought, why not? They looked a little more upscale and tendy, and I needed a fix, so I called and made an appointment for four that 4th of July afternoon. We were there ahead of time, so hubs and I waited a little, and even at four they were a little behind, so we waited a bit more. Didn’t mind too much though. When we were taken back, the girl was friendly and nice, and seemed to take her time with my hair, even giving me a straight blowout for no extra charge. I was so super pleased with how nice, soft, and straight it came out. So we paid and went on our merry way. Later, however, I realize my hair is still uneven… the fix was no fix at all. In fact, the sides were switched. Now instead of the left side being a bit longer, the right side was longer than the other. *sigh* I was pretty sure for a $ 40 haircut I would get a better cut than I got at the previous place, but not at all. I was a bit disappointed, especially it being my first time there. The girl was nice enough though, and I give her props for good attitude and customer service, which I greatly appreciate, always. I have difficult hair, so I feel I can be a bit forgiving toward stylists that are nice and try, but don’t quite get my hair right. So my search for a good fix continued. The upside is I emailed Ulta’s main website, telling the good folks there about it. They called me back some days later and said I could get a refund at the store. Once back at the store, we met two very nice ladies who worked with hubs and I to get our refund processed as quickly as possible. They seemed very concerned with making sure we were pleased with everything and ultimately left satisfied. That’s what I call great customer service. So to recap: good store, good people, and good customer service. The salon may be good with most people’s hair, however, unfortunately, just not with my thick mass of curls. I will have to try elsewhere. Oh, extra side note: I purchased a few items that were marked down on the way out after the refund. A couple I grabbed from a section where the sign said the name brand lipstick was on sale from $ 2.49 to $ 1.89 I think. After payment, I looked at the receipt and saw they rang at $ 2.49, so I went back to check. The cashier sensed my confusion and went back with me to check the sign. She said it may be for only certain colors of that lipstick and not all of them. So I took a closer look at the sign, noticed a series of numbers in smaller print further down and realized they were the shade numbers that were on sale. I was not aware of this, and she reassured me it happens quite a bit more than you’d think. So fellow shoppers, keep in mind to read the finer print on those sale signs, and if you see numbers, it means not all the lipsticks are marked down, only certain shades. Just an FYI. ;)

Great place for QUALITY products– excellent selection. Clean atmosphere. They do not give you a hard time about trying/sampling items. For the Product-junkie, it makes a fun outing.

What is not to love about Ulta? They send you coupons, they have great bargains in the scratch-and-dent department, they have el-cheapo makeup(is there any lip gloss better than Bonne Bell?) and fancy-pants prestige makeup too, along with non-pushy reps to slather expensive sparklies on your face. They also have every obscure OPI nail color available. Rock! Their prices are pretty decent, and they’re better than decent when you use their ubiquitous coupons. Getting an Ulta club card will earn you free goodies every three months. Best thing, which I just learned tonight: You can return stuff after you’ve opened it and you’ll still get a full refund. Don’t be afraid to try new stuff, and see how it looks at home. Love.
