Their«extra cheese» is just a slice of provolone that they put on top of their already thin and inedible square mess that they call a pizza slice. I cannot emphasize enough how bad this place was, I guarantee you’d rather starve.

Initially, I was quite hesitant about trying Sweet Pizza. There are mixed reviews and I wasn’t sure who or what to believe. I made my order through my phone on the website. It was rather easy with the limited menu items. I was hoping to have a slice with pineapple, but it didn’t seem like I had that option. So, I’m not sure if they offer that. Five minutes later, I pulled up to the parking lot and stepped up to the counter to pick up my order. The guy who rang me up seemed pretty flustered on an early Friday evening, although he was not rude by any means. However, I’m positive that he was overwhelmed. I wasn’t sure to feel sorry or if this was a good indicator of how this place was being managed. I was happy to see that there were about four guys behind the counter rolling out dough to quickly make all the rushed orders. I really appreciate seeing freshly made pizza and the transparency of the restaurant. Less than five minutes later, I got my order and headed home. My very excited/anxiously hangry husband called me as I was about to pull off to our exit and inquired if I had gotten the pizza yet. Moments later, I pulled up to the drive way with my door wide opened. He savagely took the pizza from me and only snuck in a quick kiss. Before I could take off my gloves, he ripped into the box and exclaimed, «HOLYSH1#» and dug in. I ran upstairs to wash my hand and came back down. Square pizza freaks me out, so the final moment had come. I sank my first bite and I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, sweet sauce, bitable pizza, decent in size, and great value. For a slice of 4(2 cheese, 2 extra cheese) came to just under $ 10. There are options to Build your Own Pizza, BYOP for the $ 10 – 20 range. This is a great place for a pick-up and on-the-go. They’re conveniently located on Route 125 in Wilmington off of I-93, Exit 41, next to Target. I’m a fan. Great job, SP. I’m looking at your hours so I can visit ASAP. I’m so happy that you’re on my way to work/home because you’re going to know my orders soon enough. Update: I talked with Steve, The Manager, just before my second visit(approximately 20 hours after my initial visit), and asked about their ingredients. They are sourced locally and everything made is always fresh. Ingredients are never frozen. There’s a great uniqueness to Sweet Pizza. The looks of the restaurant, the atmosphere, the taste, and quality are a few of the reasons why I feel so compelled to come back. Love and Pizza for all!

By far the best take-out pizza in Wilmington! This delicious square«beach style» pizza is a refreshing change from your typical super greasy and flimsy Greek and Italian sub shop pie. The edges are always the perfect texture with the outer crunch, and doughy middle you look for in a great crust. Their sauce is fantastic — it’s not too sweet and you can taste the freshness. I especially pick up on hints of what seems to be basil, oregano and other Italian spices. The place is always clean, the guys are all really cool, and they’re willing to do what they can by even offering suggestions on toppings to make you happy. I’ve been here about a dozen times now, and I’ve always had a great experience. If you’re a fan of Beach Pizza, Tripoli’s, Cristy’s, or Espresso’s, you’re going to especially love Sweet Pizza so go check it out!

I work down the street and am a lifelong Tripoli’s pizza die hard, so that was my benchmark when I walked in here. I had a coupla slices of straight up cheese, and I thought it was excellent. Wasn’t at all under cooked as previous posts have mentioned. The sauce was definitely sweet but not too sweet, there was just enough cheese on it, and the crust was crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I could pick it up and eat in the car without any of it flopping on me. I’d put it up against Tripoli’s, and that’s a compliment. A touch on the pricey side, but not by a lot. Great«beach» style slices.

Tried a pepperoni square to go while working my busy gig and ate while driving. I have to say, I don’t quite get the 3 and one half stars when I opened this page. Waited a long time for the place to open as I travel the area and am always curious about new pizza joints. Went back the next day for the same square to go and experienced the same foodie satisfaction. The sauce as has been stated, has a pleasant fresh and IMHO, MILD sweetness to it, like the shape, is different. Went during a weekday lunch and the place was doing brisk business in a previously non retail strip off 93n exit 41. Crust is a bit thicker than typical thin crust classic Italian pizza, yet fresh, not too crunchy and delicious as is the cheese and fresh pepperoni slices. People who want a slice and NOT a whole sheet will be very satisfied because one slice will be satisfying for a light to moderate lunch. This place is immaculately clean, the owner/manager has about 4 teen dudes hustling like busy ants and you should be waited on promptly. CC’s accepted. 2.50 for the pepperoni«square» more than worth it. Not really a place I would want to eat in as space is quite limited and you are inches from the lunchtime crowd coming in. I like the fact that this guy seems devoted solely to pizza and not an «also» place of wings, salads and subs. Interesting reading some other disapproving reviews, but I think a consensus will eventually be reached on this new place that puts the place above midrange. I need to try other flavor toppings to have a fuller view, but the pepperoni is the generally the benchmark for pizza lovers. Quality of product a solid 4 and the shop, i think, is geared to serving the surrounding offices primarily or some curious stragglers hitting the nearby Target store. I am not giving a 4 and one half to 5 for lack of seating comfort and awkward store location. Seems like bringing home a full product calls for a light microwaving from wherever you have to get to. This is pizza when you want a different taste(as a the manager concedes). Pizza is highly serious business for its fans and reviewers will always disagree substantially whether talking about santarpio’s or Polcari’s or wherever.

I agree with the other review that says a Lunch Place in the area is a welcome addition… HOWEVER…Sweet Pizza is NOTTHEANSWER. I also have no idea what the hell Beach Pizza is but if it is a Pizza that tastes like licking the sand at the beach than I also agree that this is a great example of that style of Pizza. I really have no idea how this place has any reviews over 3 stars… If you enjoy pizza ingredients by all means Sweet Pizza has it all… dough…cheese…sauce…toppings…that is where anything resembling pizza ends. First off the sauce… yes it is sweet and even though that is perfectly fine(you warned us in the name of your pizza shop) it is uninspired and tastes like it comes out of a can… the dough… always always always UNDERCOOKED… and the cheese… so is it your goal just to cook the pizza until the cheese just starts to melt… if so good job… god forbid you order extra cheese… they will throw a circular deli slice of provolone right on top and barely melt that too. This place is an embarrassment and unfortunately it will probably stay around with their captive audience in the surrounding office parks(who by the way have better pizza in their workplace cafeterias). If you are in the area and really craving pizza may I suggest the Café Pizza at Target or a frozen Digiorno Pizza out of the freezer section. Pizza is not something you should ever have to get used to. It should always be good and this place misses the mark by a mile oh and for the price they are really getting over on their customers with such sub par offerings.

After working just down the street from this place for almost 2 decades, a lunch place this close by is a welcome addition. The pizza and its sweet sauce is interesting at first and then it really grows on you. I really like it. Give it a chance, and then give it another chance, and you will too! The boss in there seems really dedicated and friendly, and gives you service with a smile. My biggest reservation is price. It’s a bit steep, and whether they know it or not, there are literally 100’s of hungry potential customers in the various work places VERY close by who would likely be storming the place on a daily basis for a(slightly) cheaper lunch. If possible, I’d suggest getting some coupons into their hands, or running lunch specials. Anyway, I’ll be back, just not as often as I would like. Definitely glad to have them around!

A nice unique pizza shop that is different from your Papa Ginos/Pizza Hut/Sal’s. I enjoyed it trying for my first time. One star knock off because i found that the slices were too oily for my liking. Had to use napkins to soak in the puddle on couple of my slices. Other than that, i enjoyed the pizza, sauce, and found the slices were good for the price!

This is beach pizza at its finest. If you go in expecting regular pizza, this is not it. But if your a fan of beach pizza your at the right place. Yes the sauce is sweet(it’s in the name right?) and the slices are square. Working in the area, its great to know I can easily make it on my 30 minute break and quickly get some food

I felt like I was eating dessert rather than a cheese pizza. The sauce is way too sweet. The crust was okay. The cheese was waxy and had no flavor. The pizza was a good size for the price.

First of all, square pizza? 2000 years of evolution has decided that pizza should be round. Square? Where are the focus groups? The time and motion studies? How can you fold the pizza and get the tip in your mouth? But how does it taste? Pretty darn good. The pizza and toppings are fresh, not too greasy, and properly cooked. The sauce is s bit sweet, like beach pizza, but not bad. The dough is not a classic Italian(New York style) dough, with big air bubbles and a wet dough, but still good. Another thing– they just opened, so they need some time to get organized.
