Ripped me off. I have been using my price plus card to get my FREE $ 400 turkey. I called to find out how much more I needed to spend for my free turkey and was told the card I have been using is not a valid card. I said well it is on my key ring and I use it and it gives me the price plus discounts but was told nothing they could do if I didn’t have my receipts. Manager Tom then told me there was someone at Riverfront who could look up with my debit card and then review video to ensure I am telling the truth but surprise, that person is on vacation until next week. Told Tom I will take my business to Acme. Totally shocked and disappointed.

I used to frequent this particular shoprite. I had to switch to the store on 896 since they changed the front entrances here. This store used to have two entrances, one at each end of the parking lot which meant you could always get a good spot. They destroyed them and made one central entrance which just happens to be at the end of the parking row where everyone pulls into the parking lot. Now, EVERYONE who pulls into the parking lot has to wait for everyone else who is waiting for a good parking spot in that row. It is a nightmare. I’ve spent more time in that stupid parking lot than I have in the store. It also seems to irritate others since more than once the parking situation has caused a screaming match between drivers. I won’t be back unless they go back to two entrances.

I love shoprite. The store is always well stocked with variety. The store owner is present and ready to help if needed. The store has been remodeled in the last year, wider aisles, plentiful meat department, descent prices. I have shopped here for years and always felt I was getting quality products for a fair price.

Top reason why I drive the extra miles to go to Shop-Rite is the lower prices, relative to other grocery stores in the area. Also, I believe that they try to be fair to the customer, especially when it comes to pricing accuracy. I would rate their deli, frozen, dairy, fish/seafood, bakery, and grocery at the top when comaring to other grocery stores. Their produce section could improve, specifically related to freshness. Sometimes, I have seen some pretty brown broccoli and some wilted asparagus. Also, there are times when I have been disappointed with their meat department because it seems like their selection is not that great; for example, they do not carry country style spareribs, and, it is difficult to find boneless spareribs. Another peeve I have, are the narrow aisle and the crowds — traffic jams are not unusal, especially when they are stocking items in an aisle; however, I don’t think their is much they can do about this without sacrificing selection. Overall, I am a satisfied with this grocery store, and this is the one I choose to go to.

Oh Shop-Rite, how I have a love hate relationship with you. On one hand, they’re one of the cheapest stores around and it’s sometimes worth the other hassles. The bakery is great. Good product(and this is a view held by many of the older housewife types I know who have sampled them all), good prices. On the other hand, I always get really frustrated there. The aisles are narrow, and it’s always full of, well, very aged folks. I love older people; I just don’t love to shop around them. I’m really polite with the elderly, so I never try to rush them or make them feel hurried as they inch their way down the narrow aisles. But what ends up happening is that some other geriatric shopper shows up behind me, as I’m politely waiting for the one in front of me to move along. And the shopper behind me will practically run me down with the cart. You cannot win. So I get very frustrated when it’s crowded. I’m seriously frustrated just thinking about it. But the prices, the prices — you have to go once in a while for the prices. And those bagels that they sell that are sliced into several thin pieces — oh man.
