Salon 828

Love this place! They fit me in on very short notice. My stylist used an anti humidity spray on my thick hair which usually falls 20 minutes later this time stayed all night. Thanks Salon 828 you rock!!!

I have been to this salon three times and love it! I had Jill and today had Cara. I have struggled in the past to find a good person that can do professional looking highlights and a great bob cut with minimal maintenance. I don’t have much time, so the online booking helps a lot.
All of the staff is very friendly and greets me with a smile at each visit. I am offered a beverage and wait in the lounge area. I don’t wait long before my stylist escorts me back.
My hair looks wonderful and I will definitely be back.

I am new to the Wilmington area and have been very hesitant to find a new hair salon. After seeing Salon 828’s reviews and a recommendation from a friend, I decided to give it a try! And I am very glad that I did! The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is very cozy yet professional. Even more importantly, I was very impressed by my hair stylist, Jill. She listened to the description of how I wanted my hair cut, made a couple of suggestions and delivered a great haircut and service. I will definitely be going back and recommend Salon 828 to anyone!

I came here for my first ever manicure last weekend. I was told by my wedding photographer that it would be a good idea to have this done. Like most men, I was very skeptical, and not really excited to do this. I have to say, it was an amazing experience. My nails have never looked so clean. I will definitely come back a couple times a year to have this done again. If you go, ask for Kristen. She did an excellent job!

I received a haircut from Stephanie. She was very sweet and welcoming. However I’m less than pleased with my haircut. I wanted a bit of a drastic cut, cutting at least 6 inches. I brought a picture of the hairstyle I wanted and she quickly glanced at it, saying she knew what I wanted. I wish she had looked at it longer because ultimately my cut is far from what I’d hoped. There are barely any layers and the length is shorter than I wanted.

Love. This. Place. Everyone in this salon makes you feel so at home and welcome. I made my first appointment a couple weeks ago after being a salon nomad for years. I was the last appointment of the night, and usually the stylist can’t wait to get out of there. Jill, my person, was AMAZING and let me rant about how I had no idea what I wanted to do with my hair. She made some recommendations, and when (in the middle of her highlighting my hair) I decided I wanted to go with a different suggestion she had given me, she was more than willing to go with it! I’ve been in salons where i’ve had to commit 3+ hours to them in order to get my hair highlighted… Jill had me in and out in an hour and a half, with the best color job i’ve gotten in years if not ever. I’ve gotten sooo many compliments on it! The atmosphere is super relaxed and inviting. You feel like you are at a friends house.
The front desk is so nice and accommodating too– I had made an appointment to get hair and makeup done, but needed to go earlier than I originally thought. I called with the full expectation that I would have to cancel and be on my own for both (I had a wedding to go to that night) but they were able to fit me in! Stephanie styled my hair — i showed her a picture of my dress and she gave me hair that looked amazing with it with so many intricate little details. This place is the best, and I think i’m ready to become a one-​salon woman :)
Update (6÷25÷14):
I had my wedding party get their hair done here, and everyone’s turned out AMAZING!!! Mini story: My brother’s girlfriend was unsatisfied with the way her hair turned out, and the second one of the stylists heard, they sent her right back to the chair to get her hair completely redone to her satisfaction. Seriously, what good customer service! The salon gave us the upstairs room to store all of our stuff and hang out when we weren’t getting everything done — we essentially took over almost the entire salon, and had such a great time.
My hairstylist, Jill, did such a phenomenal job on my hair — it looked great and stayed up all night! Not to mention, looked great (as did everyone!) in the wedding photos:) One of my bridesmaids loved her hair so much she said she might have to hire them for her upcoming wedding.

Great place. A little tricky to find– but I had a great experience here. My hairdresser was friendly and chatty (my type of hairdresser!) and she cut my hair exactly like I described– even though my description was terrible– she did a great job.

Love this salon! Kate does a great job coloring and styling my hair. She takes her time to make sure it is done right and is very professional. In addition, I scheduled an appointment for 10:30 on a Saturday. About 4 days before my appointment, they called and asked if I could come a half hour later because they knew the client before me would take longer and didn’t want me to sit and wait. So considerate and responsible! Definitely a plus. I would recommend this salon to anyone! Totally worth it.

Holly has been cutting and coloring my hair for nearly 15 years. She’s the best! Salon 828 is aesthetically gorgeous and has a nice, comfortable groove. No snobs here!

This place is special because they are genuinely NICE in addition to providing great services. I’ve been to places where I’ve gotten great services (and paid through the nose for them), but was a nervous wreck going in there (even as a regular customer) because the ambience of the salon was so, well, uppity.
Blake does my color. I followed her from another salon I liked her services so much. They take care of you without it seeming fake and they also seem to genuinely enjoy working at the salon. There is no catty wildness going on, just friendly people providing great services. I would definitely recommend the salon.
About the pricing, it is what I would consider slightly upscale. However, what I know is that women (including me) often pay WAY too much for services that we are not altogether happy with. I have to say that I make sure I have the money for my appointments, because I am so happy with what I come out with.
