Most sandwich shops these days are a franchise chain… boring boring but reliable, reasonable and not too unhealthy… I’m talking about you the«subway» and«Jersey Mike’s» of the deli/sandwich shop world. What happened to the mom & pop sandwich shop! I think«on a roll» is the closest thing I’ve come to visiting a «non-industrial» sandwich shop in a very long time. Immediately noticeable, as soon as you walk-in, is their 10 foot black board with(mostly) creative descriptions of all they offer. I got quite a kick out of the names for some of their«sammies». I came with my colleague, who frequents this place, and decided to go with what he got the«cibatta bing» Really, it was between that and the«ciabatta boom» he told me that«cibatta bing» was is favorite and I went with it. No regrets because it was awesome! It’s everything you’d expect, from a good sandwich, the bread was fresh, there was the right amount of vinaigrette; overall a well balanced sandwich! I also ordered a «sweet» tea, which was also awesome! because it wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet. The person taking our order was friendly and efficient. I didn’t miss the assembly line process of how the sandwich was made at other shops. If you’re like me and believe that sandwich shops are relatively healthy but blah blah blah boring then«On a roll» is truly a treat! They offer more that«sammies» and my only regret is that my stomach didn’t have enough room for their other offerings! When I come back to Wilmington, you can bet, i’ll be drop by!

I live downtown and have never noticed On A Roll! Maybe cause of the large tree out front? I don’t know, but went today for the first time and it was really good! Great ceasar wrap and my friend had an Italian sub. Really great sandwiches, attentive service. My new go-to lunch place for a quick sandwich!

Very nice eclectic deli. Good flavor, they mix up some classic sandwiches with some other flavors. Their German Herman sandwich added a London Broil to a Rueben for a nice mod to the flavor.

I love this place. Absolutely my favorite sandwich shop in town. Just had«the hipster” – a yummy turkey, hummus, and veggie concoction an a spinach wrap, highly recommend it.

Great find! Stopped in for lunch while in Wilmington, and was not disappointed. Creative menu options with witty names made the ordering experience fun, the sandwiches were well crafted, and the prices were very reasonable. My hubby had the«Wham bam Thankyou ham» & as he is a plain jane kinda diner, I expected him to pull off most of the toppings. Surprisingly, he ate it as is & enjoyed it so much he wants me to try to make it at home! I ordered the Ciabatta Boom(mostly because the name made me smile). It was fantastic– fresh bread, perfect amount of toppings… very tasty. We will definitely stop in the next time we ar in Wilmo.

Right across the street from the Marriott Courtyard. Delicious sandwiches and wraps, made with attention to detail with the finest ingredients. If they had been open on Sat. I would have returned!

Been here a few times recently and loved it. I honestly believe that this place has better sandwiches than Chop’s Deli. They are just as unique and tasty but aren’t as rich and you don’t feel like shit after eating one. The prices are also a few bucks cheaper than Chop’s. Service is very quick and i like that the place has an upstairs. Hoping this spot becomes a new sandwich staple in Wilmington.

Mediocre sandwich spot– nothing more or less. Awkward floor layout with all transactions taking place on top of a cooler filled with random pastas and old watermelon. Staff was not friendly, didn’t really seem to care about customer experience. Sticking with other spots downtown.

First visit to On A Roll today. We were looking for a nice place to grab a quick lunch and this turned out to be the perfect spot. I ordered the Gangsta Wrap(mostly because I liked the name so much). It was delicious. I plant to visit again soon since the menu had so many things I am eager to try! Loved the music they were playing and the art that was on the walls. Lovely place!

Best sandwich shop down town in a sea of sandwich shops. Great service, great food. Always friendly and clean. Try the Big German Herman when you go!
