The décor, the service, and the food?! Completely on point…5 stars from me! This was our first trip, and I will definitely be back. We started off with the tofu lettuce cups. Y u m ! The sauce was tangy, the veggie slaw was a great topper and the water chestnuts were avoided by me because water chestnuts are gross and should be consumed… never ever. My date enjoyed the miso and I had the Tom Yum with veggies. Packed with veggies,(my special order) our server was both knowledgeable and accommodating. We also shared the Vermicelli noodle salad. Yum! Perfectly light and flavorful, would definitely order again. The table next to us suggested we try the«Brad Roll» it’s a fancy pants version of the hairy Mexican roll. Sooo very delicious, and filling. I look forward to checking out Mikimoto’s happy hour, as i’ve heard their sushi prices drop, enabling my sushi consumption to skyrocket!

what a great experience we had here! Service: 5⁄5 Food: 5⁄5 Prices: 5⁄5 Ambiance: 5⁄5 Our server was great, particularly for our first visit. We had plenty of questions and she had all the answers. This makes such a difference in the dining experience, doesnt it? Food: We tried the tofu lettuce wraps, noodle salad, miso soup, tom yum(made vegetarian by request), and a couple of rolls. Everything was fresh and delicious. Their willingness to vegetarian-ize something was totes no biggie for them, but a big plus in my treehugger book, especially for an item that is so often served with meat or shrimp or whatever. The lettuce wraps were delicious, and a big portion to share, the noodle salad was also substantial, light, and fresh. I had a veggie roll which was fine but boring(to be expected, it is what it is), but at least not swimming in rice like some places do. My date tried a special roll that wasn’t on the menu. She asked the server for a recommendation based on her likes and dislikes and her roll(the Brad, i think?) was the outcome of that conversation(be sure to ask your server for those specials!). She loved it. The restaurant itself is beautiful, a nice, spacious place with character and vibe, sorely needed in Wilmington! Great for a date, friends, whatever — just a cool spot. Sadly I didn’t try any cocktails but they did have some nice creations on the menu, as well as a nice wine and beer selection. I have NO complaints about this place, and I can’t wait to return to try more!

My girlfriend and I went to happy hour a couple weeks back and am sad to say I was disappointed. I have frequented the restaurant and gone to two sushi making classes, but think the place needs a remodel. First the bartender’s black thong was exposed. The staff huddled in a corner and did not come over to ask if everything was ok. My friend’s plate was missing ginger and the hairy Mexican sauce was scarce. I was overwhelmed by the drink menu and think a smaller menu would encourage me to try something new. After eating half of our«happy hour» meal the waitress refused us a box due to company policy. The policy was not listed on the menu and after talking to he manager he reluctantly gave us a box. I prefer to go out to eat without suffering from a stomach ache. I think it is ridiculous to throw out food I pay for. At this point I left angry. In my opinion the owner should give attractive to go boxes so I can take my leftovers to work and promote the great dining experience. I will not be returning to Mikimotos until the company reinvents itself. Although the food it good, but the whole experience is makes going out appealing.
