Hands down one of my favorite places to eat in town! Both locations have great food and service. I would recommend the porters neck location of you have a bigger group though because the oleander dr location is quite small. Their fish tacos are the best over ever had and it’s pretty much the only thing I order.

My wife and I are San Diego natives, we miss our authentic Mexican food. This place is the most legit Mexican place we have eaten at on the east coast.

Ate here tonight for the first time with my husband and 3 kids. I was VERY pleased with the quality and quantity of food for the price! Not only was the food great, but it wasn’t just slapped on the plate. it looked like the chef cared about presentation. We were seated in a little alcove near the entrance, and there was a large television showing beautiful footage of islands and surfers on waves, blue water, and exotic locals. It was nice! The only reason I rated K38 with 4 stars instead of 5 is because the music was pretty loud for the small room we were in, plus being seated next to the entrance gave us a blast of cool air whenever people would leave or enter, and the people waiting to be seated were standing right next to us in the doorway with their kid watching us eat. It would have been nice to be able to shut the door. Other than those minor things, we really enjoyed ourselves, and we’ll definitely be back! :)

Love this, very casual, family friendly and daily specials. Food is plentiful and delicious. Go around 5 when specials begin or you’ll be waiting for a table

We dined there with out-of-town guests the Friday after Thanksgiving and we had a less than satisfactory experience. The acoustics are terrible between the music being so loud and other people talking you couldn’t have a conversation at your own table. The food was tasteless… needless to say we will not be going back.

Best salsa on the planet! Chimichanga was delicious, but it different than ones I’ve had at other restaurants. this one is like a big friend burrito, but without the cheese sauce and refriend beans. It is much healthier and fresher tasting. My friend had the fajitas and they looked wonderful.

One our family favorites. Great food and great atmosphere. Sometimes you just need a good margarita.

Best fajitas I have ever had. This place has great margaritas offered by the glass or pitcher and always has a nice crowd. They also have wonderful specials during the week.

Great first experience ! The burritos are huge and the tacos are some of the best I have ever had! Queso dip was great too! Def give these guys a try, we got take out and it’s not often that everything is great when you get when getting takeout from a Mexican restaurant. I will be back!

Wife and I tried K38 in Porters Neck yesterday and thought it was pretty good. The design of the restaurant is pretty unique. The host/waitress didn’t seem too enthusiastic about much of anything. The food was great with large portions. The A/C was on arctic blast mode. The temperature was overshadowed by the great food.

This has become my favorite Mexican establishment. Every trip we take to Wrightsville Beach we stop here for lunch when we have the time. As I mentioned before, the fish tacos are the best! Nice variety on the menu, and choices to please everyone, including my 3 kids, 5 and under.

My favorite Mexican food in Wilmington. Portions are huge and the quality is great. Attentive and speedy wait staff. Comfortable seating. It’s always busy but never seems too loud. I even like the music soundtrack. Even has a great kids menu! It’s a little more expensive than your usual Mexican stripmall type place, but you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

This is my go-to place when visiting my parents. I almost always get the Baja fish taco with black beans. Tonight I switched it up and got the Mexican corn on the cob… Absolutely delicious! Chips and salsa are always fresh tasting. Service is usually good, and was great this evening. Good place to bring little ones because it’s not too quiet and if they get a little loud it gets drowned out… But noise level isn’t too loud that you can’t hear each other talk.

Food is fantastic… service was OK. The bartender and her coworker kept gossiping the whole time and the bartender kept playing in her hair which is very unsanitary. The restaurant was clean and I would definitely eat here again.

Music is very appropriate with the live eat surf philosophy!!! The décor helps put me in the mood to devour Mexican sushi roll” Queso dip is pretty smooth and tasty!!! As my Mexican roll rolled out of the kitchen I was pretty underwhelmed by the size, creativity and seasoning! Salad was so so, but lack of fresh ingredients means that it was a bad salad. Best part of the meal was the atmosphere and the queso!!! Not the Mexican roll, which was listed at 12 dollars, which left me 10 dollars irate! It should have been 2 bucks! Sorry guys!

A long time favorite of mine in the Wilmington area, I always look forward to my next visit to K-38. This was the first time at the Porter’s Neck location and it was just as good as I remember. I rarely change my order at K-38 so it’s usually always consistent. We stopped in around 2:30ish on a Sunday there was a 25min wait which we didn’t expect given the time but hey what can you do the place is popular. We tried to go here the last time I was in town as well and there was a long wait however there always seems to be a room with empty tables so I guess they just don’t staff it up or maybe it’s used for a private space. Though it was pouring down rain on this visit they do have a super cute patio to dine al fresco on. I started with an old college favorite the kiwi margarita, so good! Their salsa is some of the best around as well as their guacamole. I ordered the Santa Fe Roll as my meal and it was delicious, a tortilla stuffed with rare tuna, cheese, greens, and served with this yummy ginger soy sauce. It’s presented like sushi and is a great light meal and by far my favorite thing on the menu. If you are looking for good Mexican food definitely check this place out.

Ok. Spoke prematurely. First service for my bf was great. His tea was filled before it was ever empty unlike mine. Which I asked and had to wait for refills twice. And I had to ask for lemon unlike him Who had it in his cup and some brought just for him Then the fact people brought their dog to sit in the outdoor area with them(no not a service dog in anyway, no vest. No card no id. Etc) However. The food was ok. Not seasoned much. But very well presented. He had Mahi tacos and he said they were seasoned well.
