Best breakfast in town! Skip Waffle House and go here instead! Been coming here since I was a little kid and still tastes the same!

My husband and I enjoy eating at breakfast diners. We had heard good things about Jimbo’s and decided to give it a try. The place is nostalgically old school in décor, which I appreciate. In this world that puts pressure on businesses to be shiny-new, it is refreshing to see the ambiance preserved in a vintage place. Our server was super sweet. She struck the perfect balance with my requested cup of half regular/half decaf coffee. It was served in a teacup with saucer. Love that, although my husband said that his fingers barely fit the handle. I am so predictable with my breakfast. Most of the time, I order an omelet, and today was no exception. I requested hash browns and a biscuit. Eggs and hash browns needed a little salt and pepper, but it was loaded with veggies and creamy cheese. Yum. The biscuit was a true, fluffy buttermilk offering. Plenty of butter on the table, but I could have eaten the biscuit plain. My husband got two over easy eggs, hashbrowns and biscuits and gravy. He enjoyed his breakfast as well. Jimbo’s is a winner!

Mediocre, bland, run-of-the-mill food. Don’t even get me started on their biscuits and gravy — easily the worst I’ve had since moving to Wilmington. Good prices, but for what you get, it isn’t worth it. There are MUCH better places to eat in town.

We were so excited to check out Jimbos because we drive by all the time but have never checked it out. However, it left much to be desired. The eggs contained little green specks that resembled mold, the coffee was burnt and the pancakes were worst than fast food pancakes. The service was extremely fast, less than five minutes which lead us to think that the food is not made fresh-to-order. The only good thing about the experience were the home fries. They were some of the best I had had.

My wife and I walked here after dropping off our truck for an oil change at Precision. This traditional dinner has been around since I can remember and I am from Wilmington. I have been here many times over the years and I am never sure of their hours but they are open for breakfast and late night. We arrived about an hour before closing and they were fairly busy but all the waitresses were busy gossiping about the accident that happened in the parking lot. I ordered the strawberry pancakes with bacon and a side of home fries. My wife ordered the bicusits and gravy, two egg breakfast with grits and bacon, and a side of corn beef. Yes we ordered a lot of food none of which came out at the same time. Her biscuits and gravy arrived less than five minutes from when the order was placed. Ten minutes later the waitress dropped off a bowl of strawberries in syrup. Not sure why I was expecting fresh strawberries inside my pancakes but the bowl of syrup was disappointing. Another ten minutes went by before they brought the rest of the food minus the hash which took another 15 minutes. Overall the food was just ok. I enjoyed all the food except my pancakes that were so thick and spongy I couldn’t even cut them with a knife. My wife cleared all of her plates. Service could use some improvement …

So this is a little older diner that is clean and slightly worn but wow do they know good food! The chicken pot pie is fantastic! Highly recommend anytime and every time you go by stopping in and getting some great food.

Pass this place all the time and the hours here always confused me but their busiest hours were in the morning. Went there one Sunday morning and had a ten minute wait. The parking was a little small and getting out can be really hard. The service was great and I really liked our waitress. The food was just average to me but I loved their blueberry muffin it looked delicious. My friend got it and I wanted to try but after two people tried it she didn’t really much left so I didn’t want to take that. Price wasn’t too bad for what you got. I wouldn’t come here for breakfast again but I might try their dinner.

Good food, but what sort of breakfast place doesn’t have an a LA carte menu? I just wanted pork tenderloins and toast with eggs, but couldn’t do it unless I ordered different meals? Overpriced for a breakfast place.

These guys are always open this centrally located and its a typical diner with a good sized dining room but also has the old style bar to eat at also. The people they are real nice and the food is real good there’s only one other place in town I think that comes close to good quality of a good breakfast so I’d say this is second on my list for breakfast places in Wilmington. Wilmington is kind of limited on breakfast places but you will like this place and they’re open like all night and day most the time they serve breakfast anytime try them out

The owner is a sweet older man who greets every customer with a smile and joke. Other than that, the food is mediocre and I’d likely never eat here again. Cold waffle(butter didn’t even melt) and flavorless syrup. Nothing special about the 5 meals that were ordered for my group.

Killer pancakes serves up quick and hot! Nothing special about the atmosphere. This is old country style dining dive at it’s best. They even have stools at the front counter that you hang hang our and harass the staff. They serve a cinnamon bun that is oversized that are out of this world!

The restaurant was clean and had ample parking and seating. There is nothing special about this restaurant, it’s your average 24 hour dinner setup. The waitress was very friendly. The food was cooked to order not great, but not bad either. Once again, it’s the same joint you hit anywhere after you have been out all night and everything else is closed. This is not somewhere I would set out from my house to specifically eat at, but I would eat there again should the situation call for it.

I’d guess that this won’t be your favorite place if hip-hop music is your favorite. The atmosphere will appeal to older people who remember diners of days gone by. If you like Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, you’ll love this place. The food was exactly what I expected and I like that! as for the prices, it’s expensive to run a business. Serving good food, keeping the place clean, paying employees all costs $$. If you don’t like that, I might suggest the waffle house(take a barf bag though). My wife and I(late 40’s) were very impressed our Son(early 20’s) was like,“meh… I’ve had better”. I paid the bill, I do not listen to hip-hop, so I got to write the review :)

Jimbo’s was extremely disappointing. I read the conflicting reviews and decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, it confirmed some of the negative reviews. If French toast is going to cost $ 7.95, at least make them with good bread, instead of using three pieces of wonder bread. One egg will cost you $ 4.95. Nothing justifies that. I would be more than willing to pay these prices if the food was very good. Unfortunately, it was not. The staff was polite and the establishment was reasonably clean for a diner, therefore the two stars, otherwise, I would have given one star. It is busy, which tells me that most have slightly lower standards.

Kind of on the higher price range for a breakfast restaurant. I mean, $ 4.95 for one egg? Hmm

Amazing food and excellent service. The red-eyed gray was a little weak for my taste other than that everything was good. Look forward to going there again.

We were excited to try a new breakfast place as newbies to the area. Let me cut to the chase. The quantity and quality of food was low. The prices ridiculously high. The atmosphere a cattle call. I ordered two pancakes with pecans, 1 egg scrambled, and sausage as side. What I got: 2 small bread plate sized pancakes, 1 egg scrambled(must have been a wren’s egg), and one(I kid you not) half dollar sized sausage patty that was cooked to death and had the texture of leather. All for $ 10.25! For $ 7.75, my partner got an 8″ x ½″ waffle. Add to the above two ice teas the size of Dixie cups at $ 1,75 each, and we spent over $ 20 bucks for two kid’s sized breakfasts of the lowest food service quality on the market today.

I’m quite sure we were the youngest folks in there! It was great. It’s the kind of dinner I love. The food was awesome good and probably the cheapest in town. I’m hooked.
