Geek Assured

I called geek assured about a problem with my quickbooks. They were quickly able to help me very quickly. They had me let them take over control of my computer. I paid them $ 550 for a year of repairs. They said to let them fix my computer and it would take about 2 hours. They called me after 20 mins to say they’d been kicked out of my computer, when I watched what they were doing, they were trying to delete my spyware. I immediately shut them out of my computer. They had told me they were outsourced my intuit but when I called intuit they had never heard of geek assured. As soon as I told geek assured back and told them that, they would no longer answer my calls then the phone line was no longer a working number. We put a hold on the charge through our bank and PayPal so we thankfully didn’t have to pay the $ 550. This is not a professional business and is a scam. I found them by googling quickbooks and I’ll definitely pay more attention in the future as this was a scare. Hope to help others know about this company also.

These guys are a total scam.
They fooled my wife into thinking that there were people watching us on our computer who were accessing our personal info.
First of all, why would some spam advertisement like geek assured know that there were people getting into our personal info?
Does geek assured have access to our personal info that I’m not aware of? Or were they simply lying? Either way it’s a scam. They took control of our computer so that they could rid our CPU of viruses, but I shut off the computer before they could complete the work.
I told them on the phone that I was afraid that my wife was getting scammed for the $ 250 fee to clean up our computer.
They said we could get a full refund.
It has been 4 weeks and we are still out $ 250. I have called them at least 4 times and they assure me that the refund has been issued.
I however «assure» you that they have no intention of refunding me.
What a scam– don’t trust them.
I wish I could choose zero stars, but I have to select one star at least in order to post this.
Hope you find this review before you or a loved one gets scammed by them.

Geek assured never issued me the refund which they promised until I got PayPal involved.
