My wife and I had dinner here and it was very good. We started with drinks. I had a Crown Royal Old Fashion that was delightful and my wife had a Sauvignon Blanc equally as good. Their stuffed piquillo peppers were out of this world. Our main course was a chicken pappardelle so good. Our server’s name was Scott who treated us like royalty and he was very personable. The restaurant and rest rooms were impeccably clean. We would highly recommend this place. R&S Noël Palm Harbor FL.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. The people that I was with and I were denied service when the whole inside and outside was filled with empty tables. They said that we could not sit at their tables just to get something to drink because they said that their tables are for«dining customers only». We were paying customers and they turned us away for no good reason. I have never had worse service in my life.

There are many ways to ruin a steak. Overcooked. Undercooked. Charred. Using a bad cut of meat. And the list goes on. A good chef knows how not to do any of these steak-ruining things. Luckily, the chefs at Circa 1922 know how to cook a steak to perfection – but they were a touch too heavy handed with the seasoning on my hanger steak. Which is kind of funny, since my wife’s paella was practically flavorless. That said, the restaurant looks fantastic and most of the staff were very friendly. Except for our waiter. He seemed to have better things to do than wait on our table. Great ambiance, pretty good location, and reasonable prices for what you get, but I’d try something else if I ever make it back to Wilmington.

The food was good! But this is not a tapas bar. The menu is not Spanish, it seems more Italian with house made ricotta and seafood.

Been here 3 times now. There is a reason i return… Good food and service. Great atmosphere too. It is a converted bank that still has the vault in it along some«ghosts». It is moderately priced. I wish the food portions were slightly greater than what they are but oh well. There is a parking garage right behind the restaurant which is perfect. Centrally located if you want coffee or dessert after eating. Close enough to the water front too

This place does not suck!!! The building has a great vibe and the menu isn’t gigantic or intimidating. Apps, I got the oysters and holy shit they were amazing. I get wood just thinking about. Also decided to score some tuna tar tar(good choice self high five) it was super fresh I really didn’t want to share. For dinner I order the hanger steak. It was bold move the best hanger steak I’ve had was from Chef Kevin at the iron room(see Iron Room Review) so the bar was set relatively high. the hanger steak ended up being an absolutely great meal(not Chef Kevin great) I highly suggest it. Great Restaurant a Wilmington must. Stop fucking around and make a reservation. You can thanks me later.

There are alot of great options for eating in downtown Wilmington, and this is definitely one of them. We had a nice light dinner at the bar one night while visiting daughter at UNC-Wilmington. Started with beef carpaccio which was delicious and complemented by bitter greens, olives, and cheese on top. Wife had shrimp and grits, which also passed muster with a native southerner. I had the spinach salad, which came with a runny egg — yum. Equally delicious were the cocktails from a special seasonal menu created by one of he bartenders, and using ingredients(like muscadine shrub) from his own garden. Looking forward to going back next time I’m in Wilmington.

We had a great dinner here last night. Walking around downtown Wilmington and not wanting any of the fried Riverfest fare, we found this place and ventured in and were seated without any wait, which was quite nice! I got a pomegranate bellini which was tart and strong, just the way I like it, also with some elderflower liquer(bonus!). My fiancé asked them to make him a Texas mule which turned out quite well too. We were then brought bread with balsamic/olive oil and I know this might not impress most, but I’m a sucker for good dipping sauces and our server not only brought us more bread and sauce, he did it without asking, what a gem! We ordered from the tapas selection and tried the mushroom bruschetta, stuffed piquillo peppers, ceviche and pork croquettes. The bruschetta was definitely our favorite followed by the peppers. The ceviche was not something we liked, and the server graciously took it away AND took that off our bill, which pleasantly surprised us. He then recommended a place we could find some good ceviche and you could tell her really strived to provide the best service possible, which was really heartwarming. Needless to say, we were very pleased with our visit and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a classy meal downtown.

Made a reservation online n when we got there, the waitress seated us in the middle when there was some empty booth there, that made me uncomfortable, asked for change she said its booked n some old couple were leaving so I said they r leaving we can move over there, that’s how we moved to the booth. The food was fine, calamari with wasabi n honey, that’s the first time I had calamari like that, not too bad. My scallops weren’t cleaned properly, I tasted sand at my first bite, I tried again, still sandy, that’s disappointing n irritating. I had to ask to change that. Lamb n duck were good, except the sauce in the duck confit, a lil bit to sweet for me. Lamb ragu was kinda soupy, but the flavor was there. Also it is interesting to note that throughout the night, no one else was put in the center… Just us.

What a gem in downtown Wilmington! Excellent service and an amazing menu. A perfectly crafted gin martini started my meal with a Caesar salad that was lightly, yet appropriately dressed. The Prix menu between 5 and 7 pm Sun-Thur is a good bargain for a salad, an entrée, and a dessert. The roasted pork tenderloin with fingerling potatoes was matched with a wine reduction sauce. Some of the potatoes were a bit undercooked but still well seasoned. After my second martini, the carrot cake arrived. Now, I am not usually a sweets or dessert person, but I cannot remember ever having such a great finisher to a meal than that. Chris, our server, was beyond professional, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable. Came by the table to check on us at just the right intervals. I HIGHLY recommend Circa 1922.

Went there for Valentines Day and my wife and I had a great time. The service was great, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing. The price would be the only reason they do not get 5 stars. As with most Tapas places they are a bit overpriced. The drinks weren’t weak or to strong but just right and the staff. I know I said the service was great but the staff was amazing. They explained everything on the menu, answered my wife’s questions and made the experience that much better. We would definitely go back again and have. Highly recommended for a couples date night.

Wandered in on a rainy evening when everything else had a wait. There was space at the bar, and the restaurant is big enough that there was still a table or two left. We had a very enjoyable meal, which always seems even better when you go somewhere you know nothing about. The drink menu is pretty extensive and the Hemingway margarita went down very smoothly(and quickly). They offer wines by the glass, carafe, and bottle. The mussels Pyrenees had a rich sherry broth with julienned vegetables that would make you do embarrassing things, such as drink from the bowl. I had the spice-crusted snapper with tomato consommé and roasted okra, and the okra was crisp enough to make me forget how nasty it is when it’s stewed. One person found their eggplant dish had too much cheese so that the eggplant got lost. Service was knowledgeable and very friendly both at the bar and on the main dining floor. I thought the dishes were just a touch slow to come out after ordering, but we weren’t in a hurry and overall it was a highly enjoyable experience. One note: the restrooms are upstairs, so you either have to climb or take an elevator in the back.

We visited Circa 1922 for the first time on Friday July 10th. Two of us sat at the bar and were pleased to find the bar happy hour menu(we arrived at 5:30). This is a rare review, I can honestly say everything we ate was absolutely amazing. We had: Manchego and Gouda cheeses which came with honey(amazing) and little homemade crackers. Wild Boar Salami(which came with some pickled cucumbers and onions, as well as mustard) Spring Rolls Mussells Pyrenese Smoked Salmon Canapé Local Tomato and Ricotta I can’t wait to go back again and try some new items, and maybe some of these again, as well!

I had previously visited this restaurant for drinks and I was excited to go back with my family for a 4th of July dinner. This restaurant has a lovely décor with exposed brick walls and huge paintings with soft hues along the wall. We were a few minutes late for our reservation but thankfully had no problem getting seated in the upstairs dining room right away. I ordered a pinot noir which came as a big pour but in a glass that was small for red wine. The boyfriend went with the Pimm’s Cup which tasted more like a mojito than a traditional Pimm’s Cup but I was a fan. They brought warm bread to the table to tide us over while we reviewed the menu. The bread was delicious but they were far too generous with the balsamic vinegar in the olive oil dipping dish. The parents started with salads which were large enough to split. I sampled the ceasar which was standard but I liked the crostini instead of croutons. The other salad, the organic greens, was delicious. The best part was the tempura gorgonzola which came out warm and was a great compliment to the salad. The entrees came out in a reasonable amount of time and everything was plated beautifully. The temperature on my steak was correct and the potato purée and haricot verts were good accompaniments. They brought my steak out without a steak knife but thankfully it was tender enough to cut without one. The décor and ambiance along with beautiful presentation make this a great date spot. The food unfortunately lacked a wow factor that would bring it to a four star. After a meal out at a nice restaurant I shouldn’t look back and find the fried gorgonzola was the most memorable part of the meal. I would try it again as a tapas meal rather than a traditional dinner.

Circa 1922 had unfortunately fallen off my radar for a few years, but I am really glad to have had dinner there last Monday. The restaurant has a lovely warm elegant atmosphere, with a casual feel. It also has a really huge bar for pre dinner drinks or just for meeting friends. I had the spinach salad which was quite large and delicious. For my main course I had the paella, which was also delicious. Even though it was listed under«small plates» it was plenty of food for me. Other positives were… Great service, good bread, Hoppyum IPA on tap, reasonable wine prices. I’m sure that I will return to Circa again soon.

This place is a shining gem among downtown Wilmington’s strip of dive bars and restaurants. My fiancé and I went here for Valentine’s Day dinner. It was a special menu, which we didn’t know when we made the reservation, but it turned out to be a great meal. We started off with the shrimp roll and seared ahi tuna steak. Both were light and delicious. Perfect for a starter course. The appetizers were followed by salads. The fried egg was an awesome touch! For the main course, I ordered the salmon, and my fiancé had the steak. I was nervous because we had already eaten so much, but the portions were the perfect size. We wrapped up with an incredible dessert plate, complete with biscotti and truffles. YUM! I love that they sell wine in carafes. Sometimes a bottle is just too much. We got 4 healthy pours out of the carafe — the perfect amount for an early dinner. Overall, a great experience. I hope to come back here for a regular dinner at some point when we visit Wilmington again.

This place is something else. If you don’t check it out during time spent in Wilmington you should be ashamed of yourself. We came in on a Sunday to enjoy their Bar Menu and Tapas. We started off with the Calamari. The sauce they placed these little golden jewels of the sea on was sublime. An Asian sweet sauce mixed ever so lightly with a wasabi cream paired well with them. Next we ventured onto the Spring Rolls. Not your typical spring rolls. These were small, maybe two bites but delicious all the same. These were severed with two sauces with the Thai peanut winning hands down. The Bar Menu from 5−7pm daily includes the following and all for $ 5. Eggplant Rollantine Sliced Beef Carpaccio Calamari Tempura Vegetable Roll Wedge Salad Spring Rolls Next we moved onto their Tapas menu. During the 5−7pm time frame you can choose from 5 small plates, chesses, charcuterie, bruschetta, and Sate all for $ 4 per item. We went with the small plate of beets, bleu cheese and pecans. I don’t care for beets but I gobbled these up. A few odd items that all work well together. Lastly we chose the Duck Pastrami and the Smoked Gouda. This was the highlight of the meal for me. The Duck Pastrami was medium rare duck breast served with shaved red onion, mustard and sliced pickles. Heaven I tell you, heaven! The smoked gouda was also heavenly and it was served with a small side of honey which I have never seen before. I will be back and sit myself happily at the bar the next time I am in town to work my way through the rest of their menu.
