This business keeps getting better and better! I was in the neighborhood last week and decided to stop in to say hi to the owner, Wes, after grabbing tea next door. Best decision ever! After taking over the business last year Wes and his wife decided to use the slower winter season to renovate. The changes are beautiful and a must see first hand. We talked and he gave a sample of their new dairy free blood orange sorbet. Omg it is wonderful. I love that they offer dairy free ice cream in new and inventive flavors. This is seriously one of the few places in town that offers dairy free. I am trying to practice self control so I only left with a pint but they also offer quarts as well.

My wife and I tried the four scoop sampler and were blown by variety and quality of the flavors. The salted caramel was particularly memorable. The new owners are quite courteous and outgoing. We aren’t local but already planning a return trip.

First time trying it out after the new management. The updated décor and friendly staff was a pleasant change. However, the ice cream was horrible. The chocolate cream pie flavor tasted chalky and bittersweet. I could not finish it due to the horrible flavor. Their milkshake ended up being more like chocolate milk rather than a cookies and crème milkshake. Very disappointed that the quality was not carried over with the new owners.

It was a beautiful Sunday night at 8:00PM on Labor Day weekend, so you can imagine that there was a decent crowd. The staff worked quickly and courteously to get everyone taken care of. Looking forward to many return visits!

Pretty good. Very busy in there but the employees handled it well. Glad we tried it! Some of the flavors were varied and a little different and we liked that. Prices seemed decent enough too. Locally owned from what the literature inside was saying. So that is cool too.

While you may not know it given the unchanging scenery, but a change in ownership marks a positive shift for this sweet Mayfair staple. Upon my last review I was contacted by the new owners of Boombalatti’s, informing me of the change and asking me to come in, and I was excited to accept the offer.
Once inside I was warmly greeted by new faces and new flavors. I have lived in Wilmington for close to a year now and had always wished Boombalatti’s provided a better experience. Staff was sometimes short or came off disinterested and many of the flavors tasted the same.
I am very happy to say that taken in a new direction this summer, the new owners have improved the choice in flavors and quality of service. A few old favorites may still be in the case but there are many tasty new additions. If you are in the mood for a cold tasty treat, I hope you give the new Boombalatti’s a try, it is much improved.

I’ve been to Boombalatti’s before and was not impressed with the customer service. UNTIL NOW! New owners have swooped in and promptly made a change. They have the old favorite flavors of ice cream, as well as some new and creative culinary adventures, and the customer service really couldn’t be any better. They have new branding, new technology, and they smile. I couldn’t be happier to get to go back frequently and indulge. You won’t be disappointed!

Looking for great ice cream at the beach? Boombalatti’s to the rescue!
Not only is the ice cream fresh and locally made, but one of the most popular options is to get four different flavors (small scoops) in your cup. I tried cookies in cream, cookie dough, chocolate peanut butter fudge ripple, and andes mint chocolate. No complaints here! My two favorites were the chocolate chip cookie dough (with real cookie dough bites) and the andes mint chocolate (with crushed pieces of andes mints included). Not only could we try four flavors each, but it was under $ 4! Already looking forward to my next trip to the beach.

Our first experience here, ice cream was great. I got the mini-​sampler and with four small scoops of different flavors it was the perfect thing for me to try out the new flavors. I am a huge fan of the coconut cream, heath bar and the turtle. My husband got the banana split, which was a bit pricey at 6.75, the rest of our party got 2 waffle cones and a double scoop on a cup. If you are familiar with the old Carolina Beach Creamery, this is a little like it. However, the Creamery had more flavors. The taste of the ice cream here is great. I highly recommend it, and the CB Creamery is closed now, so this is a great substitute.
