I was placed in Wilmington right out of college for work earlier this year for a few months. It was my first time in DE and I wanted to meet new people while also trying to stay active; that’s when I found Joanie’s class! Joanie offers a variety of different classes, but I can only speak towards the boxing and weekly boot camp class. What’s great about her sessions is that the class size is more intimate than most other fitness classes I’ve attended(i.e. CrossFit), so you get more attention and one-on-one time with the instructor. The Be Fit classes offers a nice social element as well. Joanie’s classes encourage teamwork and the class supporting each other. I believe her classes are appropriate for both someone trying to get in shape, and as well as for people who are looking to stay in shape. Joanie, thank you for all the support and motivation you provided. I wish I could’ve brought you along with me when I moved.

Joanie has the ability to correctly teach you boxing technique– which is so important to people with sparring or fighting experience already. Be Fit Boxing incorporates the LA Boxing intensity(so similar calorie burn) but is much better because @ Be Fit you get a personalized workout with individual contact partners– so that you can hit on focus mits and hand held kicking pads opposed to always hitting a hanging heavy bag. The drills are fast paced and difficult. These classes can be adjusted for people who would consider themselves to be «out of shape» but I highly recommend for anyone who considers themselves to be an active person to learn the skill of boxing workouts here, or come and show off what you already know. I am in DC/VA area now and ALWAYS make it to Be Fit Boxing when I am in town.
