This location is awful. The staff is rude, the drinks aren’t made as requested, and the CS is non-existent. I should learn my lesson and just not come to this location. On multiple occasions I have experienced terrible service, drinks made wrong, and an overall awful interaction. I went through the drive thru today, and asked for a «trente Very Berry Hibiscus with light ice, extra berries» — my usual drink. I pull up to pay, the lady(Marissa? Melissa? Blond hair with glasses, rude) ignores me, just puts her hand out to take my card while chatting with her coworkers inside. Gives me my card back with a straw. When my drink is handed to me, I explain that I had asked for light ice. She proceeds to tell me that when ice is in the drink it floats to the top(yes, thank you for that chemistry lesson — did I mention that I got a B in Chem?). I tell her that I know this, but it’s still a lot of ice for a drink request of «light ice.» Her response is, «well that’s how it’s made.» Another reminder that I shouldn’t be going to this location — until mgmt and staff is retrained! I don’t need rudeness, I would expect kindness and good CS like most of the other locations.

Very slow. Plus there’s a specific barista, she’s quite rude. But then there’s a male barista that is very knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. This makes my experience a hit or miss and I used drive-thru at least four times a week. I stopped going after I asked for an extra shot on my espresso frappucino and I was handed a very pale looking frappucino. If there was even a shot of espresso, it would not have looked that pale. So I took a sip and yup it was just blended milk and ice! On my prior visit, they gave me lukewarm latte! It came out so quick(when they’re normally slow with making drinks) so I’m assuming they gave me a mistake drink that wasn’t discarded and instead just sold to me! So rude. I would be so inclined to tip them because I pickup 3, sometimes up to 5 drinks, but they always mess with it in their passive-aggressive ways. They also have a habit of telling you they have a sandwich and then when you get to the window, they apparently had ran out of the item. How do you not know these things? It’s not like you’re taking the orders from a secluded little cubicle where you can’t see if there’s any of the item left or ask another employee nearby. Then they have an attitude because they have to void an item. Well? I’m…umm…sorry? Previous reviewer(Gary W.) is correct… There’s another Starbucks around the corner, part of the Edens Plaza at the corner of Lake and Skokie Blvd. I consider it the original Starbucks in the area since its been there when I was a teen still attending Loyola Academy. It doesn’t have drive-thru, but the employees there are always nice and friendly. They’ve established their presence with the local clientele. The newer Starbucks has a long way to go compared to the Edens Plaza Starbucks. Who cares if Edens Starbucks doesn’t have drive-thru.they have plenty of parking and you know they’re not going to screw up your order and you’d gladly tip them for each drink made. The one nice(male) barista should transfer to that Starbucks because he would fit right in rather than with the rude, passive-aggressive, incompetent, and slow baristas at the newer Starbucks across from Loyola. Finally, I’ve been to other Starbucks drive-thrus where they actually gave me a voucher for a free drink just because the wait was so long. It was a pleasant surprise considering it didn’t even seem like I waited that long, but then again, I was conditioned by the ridiculous wait time from this Lake St. Starbucks.

There are plenty of places to get coffee, especially Starbucks Coffee, I have been a loyal customer of Starbucks especially this location because of conveinence, but what has been going on the past few weeks has changed my opinion about the entire Starbucks brand… the parents and kids of this community is what makes up Starbucks business in this once beautiful Gem of a City, the EscApe from the hustle and bustle of Chicago, but when a company has to resort to BIGCITY tactics and prey on the very same kids and adults who made this store a success by booting our vehicles for stepping 20 feet away to purchase an ice cream cone from the staple Dairy Queen who has been part of this community for decades even after purchasing a coffee is downright disgusting… I have not only experienced this myself and shelled out 130 dollars cash for my 5 second stroll and I didn’t even make it to Dairy Queens door and I was already locked and loaded, but also witnessed children crying, moms frantic and men Angry and aggressive going through the same experience… we are lucky to get 3 months of nice weather to enjoy an iced coffee and an ice cream, see familiar faces and chat with our neighbors but looks like I will be finding a different spot to do so …130 bucks a pop, I watched a 1000 bucks get turned over to the boot guy just in the hour that I was there, what a racket, I mean I try to deal with the high price of my coffee because I feel there is no price for quality but if they need more of our money that desperately I can find a new coffee shop who won’t show their customer appreciation by robbing me of 130 bucks, and did I say cash, yes CASH!!! Because if you would like to use your credit card its 10 bucks more and you conveintly have to wait an extra 30 minutes to get it processed, now that seems really legit and on the level, can’t wait to share my personal information with a company of those ethics… City and Police say they are free to do it as long as a sign is posted, all that studying boy am I in the wrong business, Starbucks and Jimmy Johns should stop selling a product all together the real profit is in the boot… well they lost my business… putting my home up for sale is next… I would have to think it’s safe to say There goes the neighborhood!

Slowest Starbucks in the country and something they are proud of. Drive thru time averages for a black coffee. Visit 1. 7 mins Visit 2. 5 mins Visit 3. 12 mins. They get worse and they don’t care. The part that gets to me is that the drive thru makes a tight parking lot even smaller. 11⁄14 @ 5:07 a.m. I ordered a Turkey Bacon Sandwhich. I pull around, they tell me they are out, I attempt to order 3 different types of items. All out. Told the woman, she was in for a long day, as I had to be here first customer. No comment from her. This has been by far the slowest Starbucks I have ever been to! Went through their drive thru and even there was just 1 car ahead of me that visit was almost 10mins! When I finally got to the window to pay, the barista took a while to charge me and then longer to give me my drink! Def not a good experience and will probably not be back…

What’s that thing called in cognitive psychology where if you’re more tired distances are remembered to be farther and tasks more difficult, drives/walks longer, etc… It’s literally kept me from writing this review for months, because I can’t describe how the idea of being able to stop by this drive thru Starbucks and not get out of my car for my caffeine fix is crucial motivating myself to wake up on some mornings. All the staff are competent and polite. Service is mostly fast, though not consistently so. Part of this is probably because the menu they post is nowhere near comprehensive — and it’s no surprise that the items they do advertise are always the first ones to run out. I’ve had the same exchange with them about half the times I visit, where they tell me they’ve run out of my first 2 choice pastries and list the 10 – 15 things they do have. I ask them to repeat some, take a minute to decide, and finally place the order. What should take less than 20 seconds sometimes ends up being a 3 minute ordeal. Multiply that by the # of cars in front of you. Judging by the line speed on some days, this definitely happens all the time and holds up the line. Sometimes 5 cars in front of you means a 5 minute line, sometimes 20. Unfortunately if you decide to take your chances, there’s no way to get out of the narrow and completely blocked off drive thru. You could definitely park and walk in(ample parking spots and places to sit inside)… but I would take several other coffee shops over this one if I were opting for a non-drive-thru way to pick up my coffee. I’ll definitely keep coming here, but they could definitely make some improvements.

I keep giving this place a chance. Why, I don’t know. It never improves. Unfriendly staff, incorrect drinks, and today… 20 minutes in the drive thru. With no apology or «thanks for your patience.» There’s another Starbucks down the street, corner of Waukegan and Lake that I love and go to at least twice a day. I encourage others to do the same and spare the headache of this one.

Seriously the slowest and least friendly Starbucks I’ve ever been to. The management needs some pointers from the Starbucks up in Vernon Hills on Milwaukee and Old Half Day Rd — they know how to treat a customer.

This Starbucks is on my way to work and I’ve given it plenty of chances but its just so horrible! Staff don’t give a crap and it shows! Drive thru is the slowest ever and you might as well walk in coz its faster. My last drive thru again was so slow and they even screwed up my order and I had to drive back and walk in to get the right order: so what happens. not even an apology, just«oh, did you have the cappuccino, oh here it is» I had to say«is that it?! You’ve inconvenienced me and I had to drive back!» The clerk even had an attitude about it! This is why people go to Dunkin Donuts!

I was surprised by the low reviews here. I stopped by after dropping off some students… and needing a caffeine fix! The staff was super friendly and was not annoyed with the fact I was feeling indecisive. I left my wallet in the school van and called Starbucks in the morning freaking out. They were helpful, even though they did not have my wallet. They took my phone number in case it showed up. I did find my wallet when I got to school!

The boyfriend and I were driving into the city and absolutely falling asleep so we decided to stop by this location for a little pick me up. This location definitely has the tightest and creepiest drive-thru that I have ever seen. It goes behind the building and it was just so tight and narrow. I wasn’t a big fan. We both got grande iced carmel machiattos and they tasted fine. No complaints in terms of how they were made and how they tasted. Not a bad location and good to know in case you are driving to the city from the burbs and need a little caffeine boost.
