They have pretty decent selection of new and used vinyl here – as others have noted – with a strong emphasis on classic rock and pop. In terms of the new vinyl, prices are good. For used, the prices can be more hit or miss, depending on the album under discussion. This makes Hip Cat like The Old School, down in Forest Park, or Dave’s, in Chicago, with the prices sometimes being fair but then other times being a bit high. The owner seems to be a music fan and fairly knowledgable about what he’s selling. I’d like to see them expand the diversity of what they have to offer, but, as I said, they do a nice job with the types of music they do focus on carrying. Overall, a nice place – good to check out.

Nice record shop — with a definite focus on «classic» rock. As noted by others, the prices are in-line with what you mind find on discogs for used vinyl. Hours can be erratic at time, so as the old saying goes — «phone first» to ensure they are open.

Great record store for new and used vinyl. If you’re a Pink Floyd fan, you’ve come to the right place! Jim the owner, is a nice guy and is a wealth of information regarding record collecting and Rock music. Worth the trip!

Tried to shop here but I sat in the parking lot for 20 minutes after the opening time and nobody showed up.

Great conversations, great selection, and one of my favorite businesses. I’ve appreciated this store for the last 6 or 7 years and I will probably continue to shop here. The owner is more than willing to accommodate you if a vinyl is not in stock and there’s a wonderful selection of rock music. I was even able to get some good R&B and Jazz without paying big prices that come with some shops downtown. If you’re into Pink Floyd this will probably be your new favorite store.
