We have eaten here a few times, and always been really happy with the overall experience. Today, we went for lunch, and we were disappointed. The floor throughout the restaurant had a fine layer of grease – like someone had mopped the kitchen and then the dining rooms with the same mop. There was that slightly off-​putting smell of a place that needs a good cleaning.
We went ahead and ordered, and the food was fine. Not great, but nothing to complain about. The burger wasn’t hot, and the French fries were obviously previously frozen. The salad bar was well stocked, and fresh.
Clean this place up, and maybe the crowds will return.

I drove over from west tawakoni today to give them a try. The food was classic diner fair in a friendly atmosphere. The food is diner food but the location is a multi room restaurant.
I had the chilie cheese hamburger with onion rings as my side. Both were good and the portions were good. Everything that I saw coming out of the kitchen looked good.

You can pretty much judge a home style country restaurant by its chicken fried steak with large portions not grisly light fluffy pepper gravy. This is the best I’ve had in years! Well worth drive to Wills Point texas. I will definitely be back!

Some of the BEST «home cooking’ you’ll have in east Texas. VERY friendly staff and EXCELLENT food. GREAT menu with many things to choose from.

I am a Wills Point homer, lived here nearly 40 years. Trust me on this one, keep on driving. Its not worth a couple dollars off. They go through a management change every 2 or 3 years and we get suckered in to one more visit. It is literally aweful. All food is frozen and heated or fried, even the hamburger patties. The inside is dirty and stinks of cigarrette smoke. I have eaten breakfast here that did not make me sick, but I cannot advise against lunch and dinner here enough.

FOOD; Good Cheap food in a small town — which is unusual.
VENUE was clean and a few TVs with FooD Network on helped pass time short wait for the food.
SERVICE was friendly — but frequently forgetful (tea refills, TO GO box, etc.) = no stars for this.

Chicken Fried Chicken was good, green beans were excellent (not overcooked) as was the ‘loaded’ baked potato (I missed breakfast than morning).
Price was $ 5.99 on Sunday Special (smaller portion than normal ‘plates’. Salad bar looked good, and I should have substituted for the bak-​a-​tater.
