Rudy’s Quality Meats

Loads of friendly staff. Very down-​homey place. Loads of meat but choices but not so much in the deli selection. I bought a rib roast that, despite my best efforts to ruin it, was delicious! They also make premade, frozen dishes like pulled pork, ribs, soup, and such.

Thanks to the folks at Rudy’s for the third year in a row supplying the highest quality ground pork for our annual sausage fest. The casings were perfect and the delivery of the product superb. Just wished I lived closer to frequent more often.

Hands down the Best meat market I’ve ever and encountered .I now live One day, 10 hours OR 2337 miles away from Rudy’s. I miss this institution dearly. David Bukovec is The sausage King. No matter how far away I live I still have the memories. For those of you that live in the area don’t miss this rare gem

I came here at the suggestion of a co-​worker, and he did not steer me wrong. As with all my butcher shop reviews: a warning — I was raised eating Hungarian foods Yummy stuff, but we eat the entire animal. Don’t judge me. ;)
They have an incredible selection of homemade sausages. My favorite as of today is the «Poboys». A garlicky yummy sausage. Mouth watering.
Their hurka (rice ring) and blood sausage are both amazing. Excellent texture and taste. I’m not certain which I favor more. I always order one of each.
I’m told by the same friend, that their rib roast is excellent. Now, I’m a huge fan of Foster’s Meats at the West Side Market. I’ll see who gets the business this Christmas.

Having grown up Slovenian this place provides all of the essential meats for a great family event and lots more! I don’t live in town anymore but when I come home I make sure to stop by and get the great products! My Grandmother who would be 103 shopped at Rudy’s at the previous location as well in Willowick! And she had great taste. If you want old school, traditional meats with many new offerings Rudy’s is THE PLACE! Enjoy! Zivio!

Rudy’s is a friendly neighborhood meat shop, so I very much like that. I go in here on occasion to pick meats up, if that’s all I’m looking for. (Usually, I like to be a one-​stop shopper.)
Good range of cuts of beef, pork, chicken. If you’re looking for lamb or any other meats, you won’t find it here. I only give 3 stars because this is all they offer, but they do offer quality as mentioned in their name :). I also don’t give them a full-​blown 5 stars because they don’t have cuts of beef like tri-​tip, flat iron, or skirt steak. For a meat shop, I think they should have these.
Other than that, if you’re just looking for standard meats, you’ll find them here. Also, be prepared and bring cash, as they do not accept credit cards or cards of any kind… they’re really old school. I ended up having to WRITE A CHECK to pay because I didn’t have cash on me. This was a first in my lifetime. It’s 2013… they should at least take debit cards.

I remember my mom taking me to Rudy’s when I was a little girl, now I take my little girl. If your looking to try something fantastic try the Rice Sausage. Its out of this world. This is a one of the kind meat shop that has the most affordable meats in Lake county.

Rudy’s does sell some quality meat.
I buy sausage here on a regular basis. It’s delicious. Their Andouille is unbeatable.
The staff at Rudy’s are very friendly and helpful and can answer any question you have.
Before you make a stop to Rudy’s, be aware that they do not accept credit /​debit /​checks. Cash only.

The fully cooked breaded chicken breasts are unreal. All you need to do is turn on the oven and throw those bastards in! Maybe even throw some BBQ sauce on when they come out! The steak, pork and chicken cuts are always on point. A way better alternative to buy your dead animals from here rather than the bogus grocery store.
