When I think of a counselor, I think of someone who will be my friend that gives professional advice. Which is exactly how my counselor portrayed herself to me, even exchanged cell numbers and told me to text or call her whenever I needed. I liked it at first, but she made it really feel like I was at a doctors office and not there to get advice. Ending appointments 5 – 10 min early to make sure I paid. She also went out of town for 2 weeks and didn’t check up on me once. And then when she finally returned, I had missed an appointment for sleeping in too late and got billed 85 $. It’s really all about the money there, I don’t recommend.

Owner is flaky. Return calls at random. Cannot remember what she writes in her previous emails to set up appointments. Beware of your optimism, even when you give her all of your information e.g. health insurance card #‘s, employer info., date of birth, etc. Etc. There is no guarantee she will follow up, and once you track her down it’s «oh, so sorry we gave away the appointment times that were discussed.» And if you ask for a recommendation on another facility she has none. She claims she has no clue about the area… what kind of person that claims to be a professional leaves a person in the lurch without any idea of a referral. Professionals that do not have a referral list clearly are more in it for the money than helping the person. Unprofessional, client beware! The only reason this entry has a star is because Unilocal makes you select at least one to post.

Marilee Feldman is an amazing counselor and has helped me a lot. Her approach in working with me made me feel confident and independent. She gives wonderful advice, and I look forward to my meetings with her.
