This company got it right.
From California, II rented a projector for my dad’s memorial in Rhode Island, and everything worked perfectly. The projector arrived on Friday for a Saturday event and we just dropped off the pre-​paid box at UPS on Monday am. All for a one-​day rental fee with very reasonable delivery charge.
I had one technical question for setting up, and customer service walked me through it in less than 10 minutes.
Great quality and service. And it takes a lot to satisfy a professional video editor like myself.

RenTech is by far the best vendor I dealt with when sourcing and trying to rent A/​V equipment for a conference that I was putting on with my (all-​volunteer) alumni organization. I spoke with Todd, who was efficient, helpful, and obviously experienced in how to organize the order to make sure it fit my very specific needs.
The motivation for calling them was the hotel in DC whose A/​V pricing was astronomical. When they heard I had gotten and CLOSED the order with Rentech, the hotel told me that I may still have to pay a $ 500/​day «use of outside vendor» fee. Ridiculous. Then the hotel dropped their price substantially so that it came in under the RenTech price plus their $ 1000 usurious «use of outside vendor» fee.
RenTech completely understood. They graciously put the order on hold while I worked this out with my partners, and then also graciously cancelled the order when it became clear that working around the hotel’s crazy policies was going to be just too expensive for our budget.
Separately from this, I had previously contacted other A/​V companies, and their service was (while efficient), not transparent in pricing. Overall, RenTech was a better value, and they were transparent with their bid.
I absolutely and unequivocally recommend RenTech, and give a shout out to Todd, and secondarily to David, who made the experience absolutely professional and customer-​centric.
