I’ve given this place multiple tries because I’m not one to judge on one bad experience but the service is TERRIBLE. All three times I went I sat for over an hour before getting food. The food itself was burnt and cold. I do not recommend this place unless you’re only going to sit at the bar and drink alcohol.

The service was OK but not outstanding, the food was OK but they were out of a couple things I asked for. The atmosphere was meh but they have an impressive beer selection. I’d come back, but this place is not on the top of my list.

what a joke this place is, «tap house» only thing they seem to have is Tap Water, asked for 2 beers off of there menu, they were out of both, asked for a mixed drink since they did not have the beer, came back with the worst sour beer/drink ever. Ordered a cob salad, the dressing was far from good. The biggest problem, service is lacking, they seemed I was inconveniencing them by being there

If you like craft beer and good food and haven’t stopped in to check out Vermont Tap House in williston… you need to! The selection here Is amazing. They have 28 different beers to try on draft and they’re always rotating. Some from VT, but they also have beers from ME, MA, RI and CA to name a few. The bartenders are very knowledgeable of craft beers as well as passionate. If beer isint your thing, they also have a great selection of wine and a full bar! The food is outstanding! The wood fired pizzas are delicious, I highly recommend giving the Vermonter(house garlic butter, sliced apples, smoked bacon, red onions, diced garlic and a vermont maple syrup drizzle after the bake) Also the wings are incredible!

With well over a dozen beers to choose from, and topping choices out the wazoo, you can totally customize your Beer and Pizza experience here. The medium size pizza is just right for two. The beer menu is descriptive, containing many IBU ratings. The pizza is great by Vermont standards. The atmosphere is neither unbearably loud nor painfully hip, yet is lively and modern. I find it hard to come up with any complaint.

Stopped in black friday, ordered grilled sweet Tai chilli wings and we’re very disappointed as the skin on wings had texture of rubbery, cause they were, every wing had grill marks on one side and wondered if they boiled wings first and then griiled, never again. I had meat pizza and it was good but meatballs had a grainy texture and taste wasn’t great, I do like their pizza. My wife had pepperoni pizza and I wished I had gotten that, it was very good. Didn’t partake in any beer this trip, next time.

In one two week span, I visited this place three times. I’m gonna be honest, it’s got a great beer selection and horrible somewhat rude service. The pizza is greasy and okay. I’ve tried the calamari(which was standard and tasty), the Mad About Meat(super greasy but really is packed with meat) and a garlicy one that wasn’t too garlicky at all actually. Expect to wait even or your beer selection. The bartender takes very regular breaks and just checks his phone in the corner instead of pouring, even after you’ve ordered. So three stars is «Ok,» which is what this place is. I don’t recommend eating there. And it’s not a place for a quick drink. But if you’re willing to wait, you’ll be impressed with the selection and have a nice, relaxing evening.

I went here for a while because it’s close to home and the food is ok(predictible, and not awful, but not great) however my last 3 – 4 visits I had to flag down my server for another drink or to ask for my check. I figure if that’s the direction they’re going(and their food isn’t that great anyway) I might as well drive to Burlington or Shelburne for *much* better pizza.

Still loving the tap house over a year later. The BLT and grilled cheese are both great. Their sweet potato fries are YUM and the honey mustard to go with them hits the spot. :-) The chicken bacon ranch pizza is great!

This restaurant was recommended to us by the desk clerk at our hotel. It turned out to be a great recommendation. This was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. If your in the area I suggest you check it out.

We had a great experience coming here for an early dinner, but based on the menu we could see how the kitchen could easily get back up on a busy night. We ordered the chicken bacon ranch pizza, because how could you go wrong with that, and the answer is– you can’t. The pizza was fantastic and came out pretty quickly. We also had the fried cheese curds which were a bit of a disappointment since they were weirdly bland, still served with marinara but also had shaved parmesan. Turned out it needed the parm for salt, and curds aren’t supposed to be mozzarella sticks they are their own thing and should be treated that way. Their list of local brews was a big hit for hubs, and it is nice that they tell you what is on deck… To keep you coming back. Our server was friendly and attentive.

We got take out, and I tasted 3 different pies: Mad About Meat, the Vermonter, and Solar Flare. The Mad About Meat is pepperoni and sausage — pretty straight forward and delicious! The Vermonter has apple and maple syrup on it, which I personally found too sweet. More bacon, please! The Solar Flare had dried tomatoes which were pretty powerful. I would like more garlic flavor. I found their pizzas good, not great.

Good food, great service, nice ambiance, would have been 5 stars if switchback extra pale was on tap. Thanks Jon!

Great place. Local and regional brews I On tap. Real wood-fired pizza with fresh ingredients and an artisan appeal. Great local atmosphere. I make it a point to visit each time I’m in the area. It’s great to find a place like this that produces a consistent result – well worth a visit!!!

First time at the Vermont Tap House and I’m impressed. Friendly servers, excellent choice of beers on tap, clean restaurant, awesome wood fired grilled pizzas. I had the Fiesta Pizza, hubby had the Solar Flare Pizza. Fried Calamari was a bit tough and rubbery. A tall glass of Long Island ice tea and ice cold Citizens Cider rounded out the meal. We’ll definitely be back. There’s a LOT of pizzas on the menu that I MUST try!

This is my go-to place to eat out! Every time I’ve gone, the service has been absolutely fantastic. All the servers I’ve had have been friendly, helpful, attentive people. I’ve tried the poutine and like it a lot, but I also don’t consider myself a connoisseur or anything. The Vermont pizza(bacon, apples, cheese, maple) is incredible, as is the buffalo chicken pizza. Their fried dough dessert is also great! There is a fairly extensive beer list, but not much in the way of cocktails, which is fine. It is a TAP house, after all! All in all, I would recommend this restaurant 100%

Let me first say that this restaurant has a great beer selection and good food. If you go there to eat, drink, pay and leave, this would be 4 or 5 star. Our waitress was very attentive and efficient. I just hope you never have to utter the words: «Can I speak to a manager?» here. Your nice evening turns into a teeth-grinding nightmare, as you can see when you read the all lower reviews like this one. My wife has a caffeine sensitivity and usually carries her own cola for a rum and coke when we go out, since few restaurants carry it. We pay the same price for the drink and have no issue with that, or even if they insist on pouring and keeping the soda behind the bar. We asked the server if they had caffeine free cola and explained that if not, we want to use our own. She went back to the bar and came back to tell us that the bartender said it was ILLEGAL! Maybe this is just a personal peeve of mine, but it drives me nuts when someone blames the state for their own stupid policies. The state of Vermont says I cannot bring alcoholic beverages in an establishment that has a liquor license. I have talked to the state liquor control and the attorney general’s office about this, so I think I know the rules. So I ask for the manager. It turns out it was THEBARTENDER!(Oh come on, I’m thinking) She tells me that«The State» does not allow outside food or drink into restaurants. I look around my table where I am there with 3 toddlers who are all chowing down on food and sippy cups their parents brought. That irony was completely lost on this person. When I tell her that it is not illegal; If it is their policy, then just say«It is our policy» and be done. Nooooo, she has to defend her false premise over one lousy bottle of soda. I would have just walked out then, but I was stuck there with a party of 12 hungry adults and 3 kids celebrating MYBIRTHDAY. What a nightmare. Being a bartender, she could have recommended a non-caffeinated drink that she could have make. Instead, she walked away with a «whatever». Grrrrrr. I tried to be nice and send a note through their web page, but either their web page mail does not work or they do not read it, because I got no response. I am a big fan of good beer, but I can say I will never go back to this place again. But I am sure all the owners and managers think«Whatever». If you decide to eat here and have problem here, just get up and walk out. Do not ruin your evening.

This is our go-to place to eat, both takeout and eat-in. For reference, we’re a young couple with a small child. I’m a foodie; my husband is a beer-lover. First, the food: 4 stars. I really enjoy this wood-fired pizza. The crust is crispy-chewy with amazing smoky blackened bits. Love it. The toppings are the best, tons of local ingredients and if you order off the«specials» list there are lots of creative combinations. The plain red sauce, as noted in other reviews, is rather bland, but just add salt. Not a deal breaker. The barbecue sauce and the«white» sauce are both great. The cheese is… cheese? It’s tasty. Whatever. Yum. The apps and salads are nice, though not mind-blowing. Again, lots of local ingredients, and great wings. The booze: 4.5 stars. Best beer selection outside of downtown Burlington. We HATE driving into downtown Burlington in the evenings, so this is a huge draw. Minus .5 stars for overpriced cocktails(but that’s par for the Burlington course). Experience: 5 stars hands down IF what you’re looking for is a great place to take a kid that is not a chain restaurant(I really REALLY hate chain restaurants). The seating is spread out so there’s plenty of room for a high chair. The staff is friendly and not eye-rolly about babies. Our kiddo eats anything so he is happy too. It is not loud so it’s easy for us(the adults) to have a relaxed conversation while occupying the child with pizza. Average = 4.5 stars, rounding up because I am feeling generous today and want to balance out what seem to me unfairly critical reviews.

The Tap House is really big, so the atmosphere is a bit lacking when they aren’t really busy. Also, I’ve usually sat around the edges, but I recently sat in the center of the dining room and its a bit bright. Still, the pizza is pretty good as are the salads. Maybe its because this location used to be a Ponderosa and its surrounded by big box stores, but I’m particularly impressed by their use of local ingredients wherever possible. This isn’t some boutique artisinal restaurant, its meant for families needing a break from all the shopping malls. The beer list though. Wow. I would bet you couldn’t find a better selection of VT beer on tap anywhere in the state. This is truly ridiculous for a pizza place in the suburbs. Also, they have mead and three local ciders on tap.

If I could give zero stars I would. The restaurant is not even half full and they sit me by myself in the middle of the dining room. That’s the first bad. The second bad, the waitress has the personality of mud. Doesn’t even say hello. Takes about 7 minutes to walk over and even ask me what I want to drink. At that point, I said I was ready to order. Third bad, I ordered the chicken parm sandwich with mixed greens. Right there, out in the open is a BUGINMYGREENS! You couldn’t have missed it! Apparently, they do not wash their greens here. It took me a while to get my inattentive waitresses attention, then when I did, I asked for sweet potato ff and a side plate asap to get these greens away from me. About 5 minutes later, she brings my side plate. Another 5 minutes later, she brings me regular fries, proceeds to the kitchen, shows them the plate, and the kitchen staff are laughing. And here we are, I’ve written this entire review, sat here and only have eaten a few bites of my sandwich because it’s terrible. Burnt tasting sauce, and no waitress! Don’t waste your time here.
