Had a bad experience with them: hired them to take care of my mother(I don’t live nearby) and they kept charging me for hours the staff didn’t actually work on. Then we heard that the aide asked my stepdad for money??? We tried to contact them to address the issue and couldn’t get a response. Since this was my mother(my stepfather is primary caregiver) and we weren’t close enough to deal with issues, we decided to end the contract. We wanted to close the loop and still never got a call back from Marie. Be careful: the state should really look into their business practices… our elderly are too fragile and important to allow the facilitation of strangers entering their house without vetting them.

Beware of this franchise. The co-owner Marie C. hides behind the company’s real name Heart Speak, LLC and sends unlicensed & uncertified aides to your home. The state of New Jersey requires a health care services firm inform you of the aide’s full name, certification status, and employment history or references, unless you waive the right to this information. We did not waive the right, but never received the information. After two weeks, the aide started to leave after only caring for my elderly parents for two hours each visit. However, we continued to pay for four hours each visit until my dad, months later, mentioned to me that the aide was working only half the time. He said he had left voicemail messages with Marie who was unresponsive, but Marie continued to bill him. He paid for fear that the aide would not return, then he’d be without help. The aide even asked him for gas money to get home. When I found out, I immediately let the aide go. The most disturbing thing is that when we tried to reach Marie to tell her all that was going on, she never returned our messages. Furthermore, when we notified the franchisor Living Assistance Services, Inc. in Havertown, Pennsylvania, a representative Anita T. called us once, but never followed up like she said she would. Anita also ignored our subsequent messages. The Attorney General in New Jersey and Pennsylvania should do something about the fact that the culture of non-medical, in-home care is like the Wild Wild West having little accountability. This company is fraudulent and condones the neglect and borderline extortion of the elderly.
