I went here to get a haircut with layers and dye my hair a vibrant dark red. My hair color before was blonde. I requested James, and he did such an amazing job, I love my hair, it is incredible. Whenever I get my hair done, I always go here and request James, he is very experienced, knowledgeable and loves what he does!!!

Danielle did an awesome job on my hair! After a bad haircut a few months ago from a different salon it was refreshing to find a place and stylist that knew what they were doing (:

Cuts and color are their mainstay, go somewhere else for other shit, all their focus is making your hair shine smack glamorous!

When I first moved to the Buffalo area, I got lucky and found James Hickey pretty quickly. I’m picky about my hair. I love color. I mean, *really* love color.
Since finding James, I’ve followed him from one salon to another. I love that no matter what I ask for, James continually exceeds my expectations! In addition to working magic with hair, James is a painter. When I learned this, it made sense that he is so great with my color. And one day when I walked in, James said, «I was thinking about your hair the other day, and I figured we could … (suggestion here) … Whattaya think?» What do I think? I think it’s AWESOME that even when I’m not yet in his chair, he thinks about my hair and what he can do to make it awesome! And I trust him completely & always let him do what he thinks will work best. Going that route has not ever made me sorry. I get compliments all the time from friends and from complete strangers who love the color!
Seriously, if you’ve got hair, go see James! And if you don’t have hair, why are you reading my review?

So I used to goto salon da voe down the street. Mainly because of James. He’s moved to this place so I jumped at the chance to give it a shot.
One thing I like about this place is the availability to book an appointment online or even with a smartphone app. It lets you see all possible times and pick which one works for you.
Walking in, I was greeted with a true sense of buffalo hospitality. They took my coat and washed my hair and sat me down.
James was his usual self. The guy knows what he’s doing and it shows when he does it. Good conversation and meticulous attention to detail. That alone is worthy of a good rating.
I also met some of the rest of the staff. They’ve been in business about a year and it started as a husband and wife operation. But not like the type to get out of the house, it’s clear these guys are as passionate about hair as Steve is about food at bistro Europa.
I like that it’s smaller in here also. A bit more intimate, in the way that you don’t feel like a number when you walk in the door. By the time I walked out I’m quite sure I knew almost everyone’s name and they knew mine.
While I’ve had good cuts at other places in town and across the nation. This place will be the only one I call (or smartphone) when I need to get trimmed up and feel good about myself.

I can’t say enough about how much I love this salon! I’ve been here twice and Daniel has worked miracles on my hair. Beautiful salon, great service. If you’re looking for a hip new place in Western New York to get your hair done, I highly recommend this place.
