Just wanted to tell any Unilocaling golfers out there that Brian, the head PGA pro at Scotland Run, is a great instructor — really patient, clear, knowlegeable, and a keen observer of what you(or at least I) are doing wrong. If he can’t improve your swing, no one can. I only had one lesson with him but he really helped me so much that I have to give a shout out for him. Mike Fein

This is a great course, challenging but very playable for the higher handicapper. The greens were in great condition. Tee boxes a bit beat up but acceptable for a highly played course. Great diversity in holes and some of the largest non sand sandtraps I’ve ever seen. Very cool to see the parachuters overhead. I appreciate the money and effort they are putting into bunker restoration but I will not play this course for $ 99 until this project is completed. They should offer a discount until this work is completed. I thoroughly enjoyed playing there and will be back. My only serious complaint was an overzealous Marshall dogging us for 6 holes. Quite annoying. While not playing fast, we were not playing slow. I timed our final 6 holes and we averaged 13.3 minutes. Entire round was 4 hours forty minutes, 10 over the recommended 4 hour thirty. A special shout out to Brian at the front desk who patiently and respectfully fielded my complaint at the end of the round. He is the main reason why I will coming back with my son later this month or early October. By the way this course is an hour from home and well worth the drive.

Played the course today with my son-in-law. Overall a solid course. The fairways were a little beat up, the traps had sand with rocks in them, and not worth the green fee of $ 85. There are other south jersey courses with lower green fees that provide a better experience.

Nice course. Well maintained but not entirely up to par based on the hefty green fees. I did have an awesome lunch at the bar though!

Swanky. I was here last week for a corporate outing for a friends company. We had at 6:40 tee time and as we arrived there was a fog coming off of the rolling hills. I felt like I was at St. Andrews for a second! This course is WIDEOPEN. If you can’t hit the fairways here, you need to hit the driving range. The course has some pretty intimidating hazards, like sand traps you need literal stairs to get down into. Theres a snack shop after the 9th hole and a beverage cart driving around the course so you’re never at a loss for a drink or snack. I DID get a snooty little vibe from the crew though. We were given basically an itinerary that told us what times we should be at certain holes to make sure our pace was fast enough. We were playing a scramble, and were only slightly ahead of schedule, so I can tell you with 100% certainty that if we were all playing our own balls we would be way behind what theyre version of «on pace» would be. Other than that, the fairways were very well maintained, the greens were immaculate and the place was just clean and professional. I will be back.

This review is solely for the caterers and event space, as I was there for a wedding. And what a beautiful wedding it was! Wedding receptions can be hit or miss, usually not so much in between, at least in my experience. A lot of the success, of course, is up to the bride and groom and their specific taste and choices, but the other stuff — like the space itself, the functionality, and the attentiveness — that’s the part that can go either way. This particular reception was on the large side, with twenty or so tables of 8 – 10 people(all adults except for the two or three children who were flower girls). A lot of the time servers would understandably get overwhelmed. Especially considering there was an open bar and a lot of folks had been drinking since much earlier in the afternoon. Well, the servers handled everything extremely well, and with grace and kindness and just overall class. It was really amazing — the effort went a long way. The food was also wonderful! I was impressed with the pasta station and the passed hors d’oeuvres(especially the beef wellington) and everything was very well put together and not over the top or too much. The ice cream sundae bar was especially delightful. I would definitely recommend this as an event space. And I hope that someone I know has another occasion there because I can’t wait to go back!

We’re here in Philly again because one of the greatest Uncle and Aunt pairing in the world have a surprise 50th birthday soirée(it was great and yeah he was surprised but almost ruined by the chef, thanks for wondering). Anyhow they get us on this semi private course. Fantastic from tee to green. The views remind you of a certain course in Augusta, GA. Very technical yet forgiving and always offering such beautiful back drops for your shots. They have the biggest bunkers I’ve ever seen and such creativity, you get to drive through some of them! Wow is your thought as you drive around corners to see your next adventure. I have to say I had a great time here and the sights and sounds are phenomenal. I’d come back to play anytime I could.

I returned to this course on 9÷17÷10, after playing it once about 4 years ago. It left a great impression on my mind so I decided it was worth the trip from NYC. Decent practice facilities – there is a putting and chipping area, and the range has grass tees which were closed that day, so mats only. The mats were very hard on the wrists, like hitting off of dried hardpan. Good targets to aim at, though. $ 5 – 10 for range balls(in my opinion, those really should be included with greens fees). The staff was very friendly and I can only assume the rest of the clubhouse was pretty nice, since there was a wedding being held there at the time. There is a gorgeous locker room with showers, and an enormous shoe-buffing machine – looks like a full-service operation. Unfortunately, the dry summer has not been kind to this course, which other people mentioned on earlier this season. The rough was patchy and dried out, and deep fescue had to be cut down which made it a little easier to find strays. One of the tee areas was closed, so a short par 4 was converted to a long par 3. However, the rest of the holes had fairways in reasonably good shape and the greens were rolling very fast and true(11 – 12 stimp). The fairways had just been re-seeded, so it was cart-path-only that day, but it’s also a walk-able course. The carts are basic, electric; BYOGPS or laser. It is a bit pricier at $ 58 for a twilight round(with range balls not included, grrr), compared with some other fun places for less than $ 40. But it’s worth shelling out the extra cash once in a while to play a gem like this. It would be 5 stars, but given the adverse conditions and no range balls included, it gets knocked down to a 4. Brothers & sisters, this is a difficult course, with wind, waste areas, visually intimidating tee shots, forced carries, and water coming into play. Bring your A-game, or bring lots of balls.

This is a tough course. The day we were there it was so windy so that made this course even more impossible. There is a lot of sand and lots of obstacles. Beautiful facilities. I want to go back on a day when there isn’t 45mph wind gusts because the place was to great.
