We discovered the Chef’s Table on a Sunday morning on our way to the Clark Institute. It is your typical local diner with standard breakfast fare served by some of the friendliest waitresses on the planet. It’s obvious that this place serves a lot locals and they come back. I’m a huge corned beef hash fan, but I can’t stand the stuff in the can and the Chef’s Table didn’t let me down. They serve homemade hash and it’s good! They also make all of their own muffins. We tried the corn muffin and it didn’t disappoint! If you’re in the mood for pancakes they have real maple syrup available as well.

Summer in the Berkshires just wouldn’t be complete without breakfast at Chef’s Hat. A throwback diner style breakfast spot with unpretentious fare and friendly staff. Perhaps the coffee could use some improvement but it makes the place even more authentic. I am hoping they will build an outdoor dining area.

It was up and down. The unsweet iced tea was very good. My poached eggs were nice but the corned beef was poorly cooked-watery and not dried out on the grill. Over was a bit disappointed since we were told it was a good breakfast place. Service brisk.

We just happened upon The Chefs Hat on the way to Mt. Greylock. We walked in and the staff was very welcoming as was the restaurant itself. We had a delightful server she was very friendly and informative about the menu and specials. We got our meal very quickly even though the place was packed. Our breakfast was delicious! It was the very best breakfast we have had out in a very long time I recommend Chefs Hat highly! Wish we lived closer — we will have to take a road trip just to the Chefs Hat!

This is a good place for breakfast. It’s pretty casual and has a very«country» feeling clientele. The tables are bit too crammed and the restaurant itself is a little run down. However, the service and the food were pretty good. I can’t say anything outstanding about the restaurant but I can’t really say anything bad about it either. I got the veggie omelette which was very large and could have been shared with another person(and I was starving). It was better than most diners — very tasty. The rest of the table(3 other people) were pleased with the french toast and their various omelettes and all agreed that the omelettes are rather large. If you are in the area and you would like a breakfast spot, go ahead and explore this place but don’t expect anything more than a very casual place. No big bells and whistles and nothing fancy, just good food and decent service. Based on the delicious omelette, I would go by this spot again if I were in the area and didn’t want to spend much but the place could use a little renovating just to make it feel cleaner.
