The food was amazing. We stopped while on a road trip, and even though it was out of the way, we would do it again in a heartbeat. The ham and cheese with egg was amazing, the mac and cheese a must try, and the tomato basil soup with goat cheese so unique… definitely with a visit.

Amazing food, great vibe, nice selection of beers. This is our go-to place if we want to eat somewhere nice but still enjoy a laid back atmosphere.

My husband and I wandered past Tavern 109 and decided to eat there on a whim. I am a vegetarian but my husband isn’t. Eating at Tavern 109 was a truly delightful experience. I had the pear and walnut pizza(without the bacon). It was a perfect mix of sweet and savory. I’ll absolutely order it again. My husband had the fish and chips and said it was«really great». I had one of the house-made nargaritas(blackberry). It was sweet but not too sweet and was very well made. We finished with the pear upside-down cake. OMG. So, roasted pears with candied ginger, caramel sauce, and whipped cream over a delicious, warm, spiced cake. Seriously, you need to have one of these. Order it as an appetizer. Order two. Holy cow. Quite possibly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

Great atmosphere and ambiance. Jump off I-96 and enjoy a great meal in the kind of place you wish you had in your home town. I enjoyed roasted red pepper soup, a caprese pizza and a Giffen Claw IPA.

Everything was amazing!. We started off with the mussels which had whole grain mustard, garlic, white wine and tomatoes in the broth we couldn’t get enough! Our server Rachel was especially helpful and suggested the Pear Pizza which my husband enjoyed and I had the club… so good! We will definitely be back!

Good service and atmosphere. Food was excellent except risotto was not even mediocre… Served lukewarm and flavorless.

New favorite place in town! Well worth the short drive to Williamston. Very remenscient of the Soup Spoon in Lansing, another great restaurant in the area. Fast service, great food, it was awesome.

This is a great restaurant. They have a very interesting menu. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable. The waitstaff are always pleasant, they have a full bar and a very nice selection of local beers and wines. I always enjoy going to Tavern 109 be it for a meal or a drink or both. Prices are pretty fair.

Atmosphere was fun and casual, the waitress and hostess were delightful. The food wasn’t the greatest and I feel it was a bit overpriced. White fish dip on appetizer menu $ 14 — doesn’t say it is served hot — so here is your warning. It was good but being served warm was off-putting. The drinks are expensive for a place that isn’t a craft-cocktail type place. Dark and Stormy was $ 11. I sent back the soup for being much too salty. Not personal preference — it was inedible. Easy to find, right on Grand River. We might give this place another chance sometime, but not for awhile. It was a sad experience.

The food here is wonderful! The menu has changed once since I first started coming here over a year ago, but they always have hearty rich food combinations and seasonal drink infusions that are great combinations. Personally it is hard not to leave the place without a shot of their bacon Makers Mark. This place has steadily earned each star over time as I have gone here.

They serve one of the best veggie burgers around. It is very fresh and the guacamole is a delicious touch. My spouse loves the steak and Gorgonzola pizza. Try them for brunch also — one of the few in the Okemos/Haslett/Williamston area.

Great restaurant! The food is excellent-had the black bean burger which had a nice kick to it, great guacamole(definitely made fresh) and a perfectly grilled bun. Lots of great beers, naturally. Monday $ 10 burger and beer special? Come on. Awesome.

Locals and tourists stop by to visit Tavern 109 to savor their fabulous food and small town charm. But who’d a guessed that part of the charm would include the staff? Our server Kate couldn’t have been more delightful. From the moment she approached our table she served up a delicious portion of wit seasoned with quick comebacks normally served to old friends. While every bite exceeded our expectations, we’ll certainly be back soon to see our new old friend.

This place is definitely worth the trip to Williamston. The food is very well cooked, a nice rich palette of flavors in every bite, and quite delicious. They have the best chicken and waffles. I am also a fan of the vegetarian sandwiches they have on rotation. Let’s just say I haven’t had a bad meal here. Also, let’s not forget about the cocktails — they are quite excellent! Staff is friendly and competent and management is almost always walking the floor and checking on customers to see if they were satisfied. Go here for a nice date night, meet with friends, or to get a excellent meal and/or cocktails for any occation :)

I went during restaurant week with a bunch of friends and the results were mixed at best. This was my third time trying the place and it will also be my last. I decided to not go with the prix fixe menu and just get a burger. Upon recommendation of the server I got the«bacon plus». While it was a reasonable burger, although small, it really was really overpriced at $ 14! The bun was not very substantial and the goat cheese overpowered the rest of the taste. Oh well. Maybe a 3 star burger. Others at my table ranged from ambivalent to unhappy with their food. My girlfriend ordered the«beef tip» salad and the meat was overcooked and there was barely any feta! Another did order of the prix fixe menu and tried to return her filet because it reeked of lighter fluid. The waitress came back from the kitchen and said that the chef said that they all smell that way and did she want chicken. WTF? She went with the risotto. Regarding service, it was also not very good. We were a group of 15 split between two tables and it took three hours to eat! We made the reservation two weeks in advance and confirmed the day before and the day of the dinner. Management should have allocated two servers to our party instead of the one we had. Although our server worked very hard, she was clearly overextended. Drinks went unfilled for large parts of the meal and rarely was anyone asked how was their meal. Often requests had to be made several times. How sad since the town is picturesque and the inside of the restaurant is beautiful with exposed brick and a gorgeous bar.

Pretty cool little spot. We had the fries with garlic aioli shaved Parmesan and truffle oil. Very good. My wife had a hoe gaarden beer that she liked and my captain and coke was so weak that I will not waste my money trying it a second time. The waiter was nice. We were waiting for a show so he brought our check early. Very cool little spot in the middle of Williamson. Nice brick inside very big city with small city charm. Just need to find a bartender that knows how to use a jigger. Weak drinks means people won’t buy booze. Everything else was great.

I didn’t have a great experience here. The restaurant itself is a nice, exposed brick and wood floor kind of place. All the surfaces are hard so it can get quite loud. I ordered the Lobster Mac n Cheese which was enthusiastically confirmed by our server,. The dish arrived at a tepid temperature at best which made it a little gaggy to eat. My Manhattans were mostly ice. The Peanut Butter pie was very tasty. Our server was nice but a little scattered, and slow to come around. My dining companion had the house-made Black Bean burger which she enjoyed. One other odd thing was being asked how quickly we would finish our meals and leave because they had a large group coming in for the table we were sitting at. 8 feet away was an empty table that was not reserved and remained empty the entire time we were there. Odd. I won’t go back on my own.
