Studio South

This place has it all! When joining any workout/​gym/​studio we all feel a bit out of place at first but not here. The staff is friendly and amazingly helpful. They walk you through all the classes and are more than happy to answer any questions. This was my first time at trying Barre classes and I’ll admit I was hesitant. The staff being so helpful and friendly put all my reservations at rest and now I can’t stop telling all my friends how amazing they are!!! This place makes you feel like family. I look forward to seeing the staffs friendly faces everyday and love the challenge of all the classes.

Gorgeous studio — you can tell that they put a lot of thought into it. There are two bathrooms with showers, which is great considering the condition you’re in after a class. They provide towels for your mat and some smaller ones to wipe off with during class. The instructors are wonderful. The studio is very clean and smells great, which is tough to accomplish. I couldn’t recommend this palace enough!

I *love* this yoga studio.
It’s as simple as that. This place is light years ahead of and more impressive than the «other» hot studio in town. The staff is courteous, professional, and helpful. The entire facility is spotless, modern, inviting, stylishly decorated, and very zen. Two bathrooms with showers are nicely appointed and well-​stocked with supplies and towels. Instructors are always insightful, friendly, and lend guidance and support when needed. Classes never feel too crowded (I assume they cap attendance at some point), and as the usual token dude in class, I never feel awkward or unwelcome. The lavender-​scented cool cloth they place on your forehead at the end of every class is delicious and a welcome touch. It really serves to deepen my relaxation into Shavasana. I’ve been to other studios and they don’t always do that, which has been a pet peeve of mine. Lastly, I love that the location is easy to get to in under 15 minutes from New Town.
This studio combines the best elements of a small town with big-​city design and amenities. There are absolutely no complaints from this satisfied customer. As stated before — I *love* this studio and hope to see it continue to thrive.

Just finished hot yoga with Felix. His voice was very tranquil and relaxing. I was very nervous about trying hot yoga but everyone was very welcoming and kind. The shop is very cute and they have towels for your matts, matts to rent and cubbies for your belongings. The studio was very dim upon arrival to allow for relaxation and the temperature was perfect. Felix moved right into his set-​up and it flowed nicely giving plenty of water breaks & time to towel off. The cold towel at the end that he places on your forehead was dipped in lavender and was the perfect end to a great yoga session. I will be back!

I made the mistake of going to another hot studio in Northern VA and was bitterly disappointed.
The energy and atmosphere that Studio South has is unmatche. Now I’m no professional yogi or advanced anything, but the instructors are respectful and kind while still helpful and constructively critical.
The studio is CLEAN. Such a huge deal to me, and I didn’t even realize until I saw another hot studio with carpet instead of the hard flooring. There is never any odor, even at the height of class.
AND there is an immense student discount! 275 $ for the year or something like that when I’ve seen memberships as high as 1800.

Studio South is a fabulous addition to the Williamsburg community! The hot yoga classes are of the highest quality and the instructors are all knowledgeable and inviting. The barre classes are a really fun and challenging way to get a workout (and this is coming from a former ballet dancer)! The environment of the studio is warm and inviting – no one is a stranger to Katy, Meghan or the rest of the team. If you’ve been looking to try yoga or barre and haven’t made up your mind on whether or not to give Studio South a try, do it! I couldn’t give it a higher recommendation. Absolutely wonderful place!
