Do yourself a favor and eat at the Maid Rite across the street. We went in at noon for lunch and we were the only people there (should have tipped us off). I ordered the Bratwurst Plate. Consisted of a Brat, mashed potatoes and gravy, sauerkraut and cottage cheese. Portion size was underwhelming and the food was bland. The brat appeared to be boiled and the potatoes tasted like instant to me. $ 8.75 for this was definitely overpriced. My wife had the soup and salad and was equally underwhelmed. The only redeeming factor was the excellent service and the fruit pie for dessert, which was quite tasty. If I was ever to go back it would be for pie and coffee.

Tough meat had been cook and then gravy had just been thrown on the top. The gravy was a bit salty. The sauerkraut and coleslaw were good. The price was way too high for the underwhelming quality and amount of food. Overall not impressed and won’t be back.

Nearly empty on a Thursday afternoon. Homemade chicken & dumpling soup, Amanda brat plate were very good. A somewhat dark, old ambiance. German fachwerk construction on the outside. A bit on the pricy side. Exit 225 on I-​80.
