Live jazz music and awesome drinks? Count me in! This place has been open for about three months now and I hope it’s here to stay. Incredibly friendly staff, we meant to stop by for a quick drink and ended having a few more rounds just to chat and enjoy the music. Beer selection is pretty limited, so I’d stick to cocktails. Try the Claremont if you like old fashioneds and the Lil Slice of Heaven for something sweeter.

This place looked nice, great back yard, solid cocktail list… However… 1. It’s stupid expense. Be warned, a well drink is $ 9. Yes $ 9! What?! No wonder the place was empty — that should have been a sign. I’m not sure how the Unilocal $$ is only at 2, maybe other things on the menu are reasonably priced — but be warned — ask for the price because a $ 9 well drink doesn’t make any sense(especially in a neighborhood were everyone else’s is $ 7 max). 2. Five of our credit cards were burned through because they were placed in a cup too close to a candle. The response was nice enough, but the waitress only called out the ones that were obviously ruined, not the additional ones in the glass that were not as obvious but also now need to be replaced. I imagine it was pretty embarrassing, but to not let your patrons know, that’s messed up. And then still charge them for everything. Definitely will not be returning to this place.

Belle Shoals has very well deserved uniform raves — and going here just once I see why. The staff are exceptional. I don’t think I’ve had a friendlier bar tender in New York City. Also — you gotta love a bar that does shots out of shotgun cartridges. This is so much more than just a bar, but I’ll get to food in a few… The superb cocktail menu($ 13 each) is chock-full of great mixology. My starting point was«Raisin Hell»(cutty sark prohibition, jagermeister, punt e mes, px sherry). It was one of the best cocktails I’ve had. There was a scotchy, raisiny, chocolatey, minty freshness — all of which sound like they wouldn’t go together well… but trust me, it works and it works well! I next had the«Lil’ Slice of Heaven»(mellow corn, blackstrap, dry curacao, benedictine, pecan orgeat, lemon) and it was YUM! My guy called it a «Peacan Pie-Tai». So good. The food was also really great. I had the Po’ Boy(fried oysters and slaw on a baguette — $ 15) and Old Bay Fries(a little pricey at $ 7…but still yummy). After a few drinks and some bites, my bar tab was higher than I’d hoped for a Monday night… but at least it was all really, really good! Can’t wait to come back and try out the INCREDIBLE back patio with a bar and tons of open space!

Anyone that’s going to dedicate their time to cut and orange peel into the shape of a guitar gets an A+ in my book. Staff is friendly and very educated on spirits. This place is going to give the other local spots a run for their money. Can’t wait for the patio to open! Not to mention the cocktails are pretty bomb. These guys clearly know what they are doing. I haven’t tried the food yet but it looked delicious. I love new quality spots popping up in the hood. Keep it coming!!!

I was a bit worried when Good Co closed and they started throwing around words like craft cocktails and southern inspired for the new renovated bar. Man was I wrong. Sure you can get a $ 12 craft cocktail that will be fantastic, but they have kept plenty of $ 6 beer/shot specials and clear cans to make this a stand out. And check this out — their lemon garnishes are in the shape of guitars. Oh and they added food! What I have had so far has been fantastic — Fried oyster po boy and the skate sandwich were both fresh and delicious. The Jalapeño hush puppies are out of this world. Décor change was minimal but it removed the dive bar aspects and kicked it up a notch. Gone is big buck hunter and it is replaced with a working, vintage wurlitzer jukebox. Added is some cheeky neon signs and exposed wood southern appointments. The backyard is not yet open but I hear they will be opening it soon. Staff is great, top notch people that really seem to care about the art of a craft cocktail and not making it a cringey over the top douchefest. I appreciate that. Absolutely fantastic addition to the neighborhood and I am going to call this a must visit in the area.

My friends and I came here randomly while in Williamsburg last week, it turned out to be the opening night. We had a great time, the bar has been completely renovated with a beautiful copper top and and juke box and new lighting are a perfect match. They also had live music with an amazing jazz singer. I had a few cocktails, all very good and made quickly. They have a few different«beer and a shot» specials which I think are under utilized in NYC, so I had one of those as well. The food was excellent, I had the burger and fried oysters. The fried oysters were the best I’ve ever had, ever, including in New Orleans. The burger was perfectly cooked as well. This will be my new go-to spot in Williamsburg. All positives, no negatives.
