Pocono Mobile Home Park

Formerly known as Pocono Park, the new management/​owner decided to change the name, which disrupted all of our mail service, credit reports, drivers licenses, etc. Nothing like being treated like cattle, to be shoved and shuffled like property for the benefit of an absentee landlord.
Speaking of absentee landlord, good luck getting any SERVICES that your rent pays for. Like, landscaping, road & property maintenance, etc. Apparently the only concern this landlord seems to have, is to receive his rents. And since he lives out of state, he’s not providing any on-​site management. Which has lead to rampant abuse and crime here, including many home invasions, break-​ins, robberies, many drunks & drug dealers having the run of the place. Good luck figuring out who actually owns this place, as the incorporations are simply a way of hiding. No owner names are on any of the legal incorporation documents. But, it’s Luzerne county, Pennsylvania, the most corrupt county in the most corrupt state. At least we’re famous for something (Kids for Cash, anyone?)!
A township code officer who lives on site apparently has such an inferiority complex, he finds it necessary to abuse his authority by bullying people about their pets, and has such a compulsion to lord it over people he finds it necessary to put thorns and debris in the trails where people walk from the playground to the mailboxes (what did the bible say about evil people putting thorns in our paths?) Apparently, proving his «authority» to us peans is more important than performing the job he gets paid to do (like removing all the trash phone books from the mailbox areas, which sat rotting for half a year.) He likes making up rules as he goes along, attempting to intimidate people with his shiny tin star. But, like all bullies, when you stand up for your rights, he backs down. He then takes his petty vindictive revenge by trying to annoy and obstruct people he doesn’t like (favoritism.)
The previous «groundskeeper» disposed of garbage by throwing it over the embankment behind the shopping center at the front of the property, where it still resides to this day, adorning the playground area with rotting lumber, rusting barrels, old tires and various other kinds of garbage.
And then there are the lovely home sites where you can bring your mobile home, where yet another previous groundskeeper decided to demolish all the concrete pads, and the broken concrete remains, to this day, along with the broken glass and debris from demolishing abandoned trailers. Must be nice to get paid to do a job, and never finish it (seems to be a trend around here.)
I should give kudos to the owner for at least patching the roads, after 4 years of total neglect after he had the roads torn up, and then abandoned the repairs after he got ripped off by the tenant he hired to do the job (his fault for being absentee and not providing management oversight).
See, complaining DOES pay off, with a lot of persistence, and withholding rent until the services we pay for are performed! Unfortunately, since he only patched, the road will be just as torn up in a year or two, assuming they actually plow when the snows come.
In summary, if you like being treated like dirt, if you like paying for services not rendered, if you like absentee landlords, drunks, druggies & drug dealers, thieves, criminals, power-​abusing tin-​star, corrupt, overstepping «authorities,» negligence, living on a dumpsite (I forgot to mention, this whole property was formerly a trash dump, and before that it was a coal-​slag heap, seriously), being stuck in winter, gossipy /​malicious neighbors, an atmosphere of anti-​community, ignorance, godlessness, hopelessness and fear, and the all-​around feeling of being consigned to Hell, East Mountain Ridge Mobile Home Park (formerly Pocono Trailer Court, AKA, Pocono Park) — THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!!!
