I only been here once and only had 1 roll. But it was the best roll in my life of eating sushi(which isn’t long honestly!). The Happy Pearl. The prices are high obviously as it is located inside a casino, but the value and quality from Pearl was very much well worth it!!! I will be visiting again to try more rolls!

Pearl has great sushi and great martinis! Especially during happy hour! I love the Godzilla roll & spicy shrimp roll, along with the ramen noodles with veggies! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that the service goes really downhill if they’re slightly busy, but I guess that can be expected by a place in the casino.

I loved the atmosphere at Pearl and the wait staff is very helpful(and attractive). The waitress I had gave me a great drink suggestion. I only got a chicken tempura appetizer but it was on point. It was lightly breaded and satisfying. I only gave pearl 4 stars because the floor was messy. There were straw wrappers and a couple eating utensils scattered on the ground. It wasn’t cleaned for the hour I was there.

Reminiscent of a Tokyo tea house, adorned with shiny blue and silver décor. Very modern themed and futuristic. There aren’t very many tables and on a busy night you will be waiting in line for a seat. The bar area is beautifully laid out… the glass makes the light bounce off of every single bottle. The sushi is being made fresh behind the glass partition, which makes it appealing to the eye. The noodles are amazing and the habachi is always a good place to start for the non raw fish eaters. Try the«Yum Yum sauce» with any and all beef dishes. It will change your world & make your taste buds pop. The Edamame(salted steamed soy beans) makes for a good healthy appetizer. The wait staff are all female & dressed in cute little black booty shorts, and a blue Japanese-shiek plunging blouse & Very friendly. The only issue i noticed was that the tables are quite small. My two friends and I found it very difficult to maneuver the plated dishes, and had to do so very strategically to fit the drink glasses as well. All in all the food and drinks here are fantastic, and the prices are decent. I’ve dined here on countless occasions, be it that its inside Mohegan Sun Casino. I love this place. Most of our local Pennsylvania Celebrities frequent this establishment, myself included, making it one of the top ranked places to dine in Wilkes-Barre…

Pearl sushi is located in the mohegansun casino. I would like to say that this review is from somebody that does not like sushi at all. On the inside there’s probably 10 tables and there is also a bar that you can go up to and watch them make sushi rolls. You can get other things besides sushi here. I ended up having a plate of snap peas and they were very good. The people that I was with told me that their sushi was excellent. The theme is more than ultramodern. A lot of blue and shiny silver accents. The only weird thing about pearl sushi was when I went up to the bar they ID me even though I just had an iced tea. The bartender told me that anybody that sits at the bar they have to ID whether they’re eating or drinking. She also told me that if you came here with kids you couldn’t sit at the bar unless you were 21 even if you’re eating food. I thought that was really weird. Overall the atmosphere is nice the waitresses are pleasant I do really like their outfits that they wear. If you do you like sushi this is definitely a good place to go in Pennsylvania.

Had the Godzilla Roll, Dragon Roll and the Happy Pearl roll. Taylor recommended an outstanding martini for my wife. Super fast service, incredibly fresh food, and absolutely DELICIOUS! A must try for sushi lovers!

It’s a typical, slightly high priced casino sushi spot. I recommend sticking to special rolls. If it weren’t for the 777 roll, I’d be leaning more toward two stars. It’s unusual to find many speciality rolls with spicy scallop, and this one’s pretty good.

Great sushi and noodle bowls. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful and bartender was very speedy in getting the drinks. Great location right inside the casino. Will definitely come back.

Sushi was really good but not good enough to overcome the very poor service. The waitress was extremely rude and the manager was confrontational. It was the first time I have ever not left a tip. So disappointing. I will never go back and the other 7 members of my party said the same. I wish I could give them less than a 1star rating.

I’ve eaten here a few times and always enjoyed the sushi and fast service. This past Monday I went with 2 friends. There were only 2 other tables seated besides ours– one already eating, the other just drinking martinis. It took forever for the server to acknowledge us and get our drink order. She then left without even getting us menus, which we ended up grabbing off other tables ourselves. It took a long time for our drinks and a long time to get our orders placed. It seemed like longer than normal for our food to come out as well. The entire time we ate our waitress disappeared in the back, never checking back with us once until we were almost done. This was frustrating because we needed refills and wasabi and couldn’t find any staff. The food was good but the service was awful as well as the wait time. We were the only table there for most of it so there was no reason for the wait or lack of attention as it wasn’t busy. There was a group of 3 guys who sat toward the end of our meal, and they were waiting so long for a server to acknowledge them that they finally left. They came back when they saw our server giving us the check, and were ignored again so they left once more with no service. It was as though the staff wanted to get out of there and was avoiding customers to close up. We got there at 8 pm so it wasn’t like it was super late. Bill was $ 116 and waitress still got a $ 22 tip that she didn’t deserve. Never again.

I love the fancy martinis they have here. They are sooooo my style. These are fabulous! I liked the sushi, too. Nothing stood out or was like«Wow», but it was good. I would definitely go back.

Gotta say I was a little apprehensive at first sushi– at a casino restaurant. But I trusted previous Unilocal reviews and was not let down. Small seating area and futuristic like seating. Appy’s were all tasty but Kani salad lacked some mayonnaise. Good for those of us watching that sorta stuff… Although the rolls took a while to arrive at table(one person making them) they were very tasty… worth the wait Mochi balls(red bean) were also pretty tasty I would definitely recommend this place and when I do get back to Wilkes Barre I will definitely be back to Pearl.

I am from the Washington DC area where some of the greatest sushi is located. I am originally from Wilkes Barre so when in the area I thought to put my sense in at Pearl. The sushi was good as well as the spring rolls and steamed dumplings however what japanese place does not have an array of sweet and sour and gyoza dipping sauces? This I found strange. In addition the service was extremely slow for my friend and I being only 1 of 3 full tables at the time. Is it the best sushi you will find in the area, absolutely not. Does it have good martinis and small plates if you’re starving, yes. My biggest complaint about this experience is something away from the food aspect but rather the uniform requirements of the staff. All of the ladies had on these tacky blue latex dresses that were designed with a cut out in the front making it impossible to wear a bra along with the open criss-cross back however all of the young teens/low 20 year old waitresses insisted on wearing bright colored bras so its all you noticed, just an eye sore when staring at their backs. I thought the men were dressed fine in all black with a blue tie and suggest management changes the female requirements.

Nice décor and inexpensive tasty food. Small plates, but yummy. I had the clear broth soup, shumai(steamed shrimp) and the crunchy roll. All dishes was satisfactory.

This is my first Sushi experience, so I have nothing to compare it to. I mean I have had sushi at Chinese buffets before, but that really isn’t the same. I had no idea what to expect, I was a little disappointed that I wasn’t able to order a half priced martini because I was made to wait 25 minutes until a table was cleaned. I’ll get right to the point, the sushi! I got one of the deluxe platters that has multiple Sushi choices, as well as a few rolls that I was curious to try, such as the octopus. I actually really enjoyed the octopus, considering I never had it before. The other sushi rolls that were in the platter, were surprisingly tasty and filling. The only real issue I had with the different types of sushi, was I couldn’t tell what was what. So I couldn’t really pick a favorite and know what it was for next time. The California rolls were a refreshing surprise. Had a nice mix of rice, avocado, cucumber and crab meat. The broth soup they serve was odd tasting, but in a good way. The garden salad was rather small and the lettuce was strange tasting, but the dressing saved it. Overall for my first Sushi experience it was not as bad as I was expecting. The restaurant itself could be a little bigger the max occupancy was 47, but really only about room for 20 people to sit comfortably. The wait staff was a bit on the rude side, but not in an insulting way, more like they just wanted the day to come to an end. Also the prices weren’t as high as I was expecting so that was a nice bonus.

I’m a little surprised by the low reviews — then again another reviewer dropped a star because she didn’t like the way the waitress walked or what she wore, but that’s not my style. Came here at the tail end of the happy hour where the martinis were half-price($ 4 Everyday: 5 — 7). I tried the Bodhi which the menu described as banana nut bread — and it really was. Bonus points for the nuts around the rim which gave it a little flair. My companion had the Sukha which had the sweet taste of watermelon Bubbilicious. Very tasty — little too sweet for me though. Onto dinner — we ordered the noodles to split and I requested the Udon — «Sorry, we’re out» I switched to Chow Fun and got the same response. Loss of some points over this considering there were only 4 noodle varieties so I settled for the Ramen(which almost at that point I guess was all that was in stock). It was very fresh and very hot and quite well-crafted, so all was forgiven. The best part of this meal was the ‘Mohegan Sun Roll’ I ordered. Honestly, i never expected one of the best sushi rolls I’ve ever ordered to come from a casino restaurant… in the POCONOS. I can’t recommend this roll more. It was crab, vegetable and avocado wrapped in the kelp and topped with light flakes of tuna and jalapeño. I would come back for this roll alone. Screw the horses. No jackpot on the slots but a definite jackpot on the sushi roll.

On a recent trip to Mohegan Sun I dined at Pearl with my sister. We started out with the«Dana» a mixed drink that according to the menu involved watermelon pucker, midori, crème de almond, sprite and a splash of grenadine. It was a pleasant drink that did not taste anything like alcohol. I had the shrimp dumplings(shumai I believe they were called) and my sister had a spicy crab roll and a California roll. I normally do not enjoy sushi unless made by my friends, but I really liked the spicy crab roll here. The shrimp dumplings were good, but not over the top. I have had better shrimp dumplings at Chinese places. For dessert I had the fried ice cream. It was delicious. It was vanilla ice cream dipped in a tempura batter and fried. Topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. How the ice cream doesn’t melt during this process is beyond me. The atmosphere is nice, would be better if it was more closed off from the casino floor… but it is what it is. The prices are not insane as I thought they would be for a restaurant inside a casino. The chairs are also really comfortable, and the waitresses are fast.

Mohegan Sun doesn’t offer that many dining options but I have to say that all of the places were top notch as far as selection and freshness… and there’s something for everyone… even a hot dog joint. However, I digress as usual… I visited Pearl after trying my luck at the slots with my Dad and hubby. I am not a gambler. I repeat: I am NOT a gambler.(If i keep repeating it, maybe it will stick… lol) I told myself I would stop when I could buy myself dinner and tonight, that’s exactly what I did. You would be soooo proud. I took my winnings and dined alone…(my gambling counterparts went to Johnny Rockets… bums…) I ordered a spicy yellowtail roll and lobster salad tempura roll. The restaurant was spotless clean and had a nice contemporary feel to it. There were about 4 other parties here when I dined and everyone seemed to be enjoying their grub. Sooo, the end result? Reeeeeally fresh tasting rolls that were expertly constructed and not too large to fit into my mouth… not that my mouth is by any means small. The server was kinda cute too… in a Bradley Cooper kinda way… I dropped a star due to the little waitress in the ugly, «extremely short» blue dress walking around like her feet hurt. That dress really troubled me. I couldn’t tell if she was working for tips or she was working for tiiiiiippppssss… feel me?
