I’m very pleased with the food and the waiters were very nice. The Hot Chicken Tikka Masaka was excellent. Would have been nice to see indian waiters though or least have them use correct indian names of the chutneys.

The female who waited on us was a bit unfriendly and inattentive. The male waiter was a bit more friendly and checked on us once. Ordered Mutton Tikka Masala, and the meat was ok. The sauce was very tomato tasting and although we ordered it spicy, something was missing. Maybe the cream part. I’ve been to many other Indian restaurants and orderd Tikka Masala, and liked this dish from here the least. It wasn’t terrible by any means. Just not what I was used to. The vegetable samosas were okay. If you’ve never had indian food, you may like it very much. Maybe my expectations are set too high. Maybe its from living in North Jersey most of my life and being spoiled by that food?

Love this place. Delicious chicken Korma. Samosa are huge and great as well! A bit pricey but one order of an entrée feeds me and my bf easily with seconds for both of us. So happy there’s good Indian cuisine in the area!

I was pleased with the lunch buffet here at Letts Eat. We’re in NEPA so I didn’t have extremely high expectations, but my low expectations were exceeded. It’s a good spread with vegetarian and carnivore options and the food was tasty without being overly hot spicy. A good variety of chicken curry, some fried things, a saag, several different condiments including riata. All quite delicious. Desserts on the buffet line included a rice pudding and the usual Gulab Jamun rice balls. I liked it. I’d go back.

We love Indian and enjoy trying new Indian restaurants at one point until we decided on a few solid locations. This unfortunately is not it. Our first experience left a sour impression in our mouth. Although the ambiance was nice, There was no one to seat us and when they did, we were led to a table with no silverware. The vegetable samosas tasted prepackaged and heated and my favorite fish tikka dish that I ordered was mistaken for the fish gravy… the gravy tasted like jarred tomato sauce. At most, being situated very close to Wilkes, the food is probably a lot better and fresher than what most college students can afford so it is a welcome retreat for college students who want to go out. Management was alerted of us, apologized and comped our meal though we had greater expectations. Two stars because we both think the ambiance is very nice. We’d return but it will be awhile before we considered giving it another chance. We wish them the best.

First time here it seems as though the staff was hardly accommodating. But since then, I’ve went back and receieved great service. The food here is delicious. Great vegan and vegetarian options.

Great experience if you want to eat Indian food. The owners are real good people the cook is great and experienced. Food is fresh and just cooked. Bread is great and the service is friendly. The waiters are good the Mexican lady is excellent the other waiter seems like she is in drugs but she is not bad. I ate many times here. And every time I visit wilkes Barre I am eating in this restaurant. Food is Great! Visiting today for sure.

Bottom line: Vegetarian dishes are great, meat dishes, meh. I’m a huge fan of Indian food, like others here. Also like other reviewers, I desperately want this restaurant to succeed, mainly because it’s the only Indian restaurant that i know of in Luzerne County. I was disappointed after a few visits here. But after visiting again with a friend who is vegetarian, I discovered that their vegetarian dishes are AMAZING(she gave me some of hers to sample). However, they don’t seem to have the same skill with their meat dishes. Could they be employing a vegetarian chef? If they can work on their meat recipes(I’m sorry, but the tandoori chicken was flavorless)…they stand a fighting chance. Maybe I’ve watched too many episodes of Kitchen Nightmares, but it seemed to me that the chicken in my dishes had been frozen– for a long time. Another tip I’d give them is to take a few courses on customer service basics. This restaurant seems to have a defensive reaction to any complaints, rather than listening to customers and implementing ways to improve.

The food was ok at best and the service was terrible… I found a pretty big bone in my tikka… Which is not all THAT big a deal… It was how the situation was handled that caused me to write this review. The waitress came to the table and when i showed her the bone i almost chipped a tooth on she explained to me that that happens some times. As chickens have bones. She then went and got someone from the kitchen who came out and gave me the same explanation. Then checked back in with me one more time to be sure that i understood that chickens have bones… A simple apology would have made me happy. The constant explanations made me wanna just walk out… I would have only given this place 2 stars anyway. The bone and service dropped it to 1 star. I have eaten a TON of Indian Food. This was not at all good… Don’t go here.

This was my first time being here and I underestimated the serving size and accidently ordered more than I could eat. But here’s the silver lining. I absolutely loved everything that me and my dad ordered. The staff was friendly and I thought the waitress was amazing. The chefs are really talented and I’d definetly return for more. The restaurant is so neat and clean which shows that the staff takes time in keeping that place sanitary and the atmosphere is just welcoming. I would definetly recommend this to anyone visiting that area.

Everything here is very fresh tasting and cooked very well. The service takes good care of you while not over staying their welcome in visits to your table. The ambience is very casual with a bit of class. I ordered the murgh pagoda for an appetizer, and the chicken tikka marsala. My date ordered tikka marsala as well. They let you recommend a heat level for your dishes here and are very good at making sure the spice levels are correct. Compared to most places in the area the prices might seem high but they’re actually quite fair when looking at the food quality, portions, and service. I have not enjoyed another restaurant in this area as much as I’ve enjoyed Letts Eat. After many visits since the first I’ve described I can also tell you the food has been consistant in meeting my expectations every time. P. S.- Great naan bread

My best friend and I absolutely love Indian food, we try to eat something new each time. We shared two appetizers, the vegetable samosas and paneer pakoda. The samosas were delicious, crunchy and well seasoned. The paneer pakoda impressed both of us! I highly recommend it. For our main courses I got medium chicken vindaloo and she got mild chicken korma accompanied with naan. The vindaloo was very good and had a nice slice. The korma was saucy and homey. That naan was some of the best naan I have ever had. Delightfully charred, crunchy, and supple. Overall, I highly recommend Letts Eat!

I’ve eaten here numerous times, and I always order something different. My absolute favorite is Malai Kofta, but who doesn’t love Tikka Masala? I almost always order takeout, and I love the vegetarian options. What I don’t love are the prices here. If you really want Indian, sadly, this is your only option in Wilkes-Barre, unless you want to stop by Wegman’s for ingredients and get to cooking it yourself. I know the ingredients are expensive. I know that food preparation done well warrants a hefty price tag too. However, having eaten Indian everywhere from Brazil to London and all over the USA, I can honestly say this isn’t that great for Indian cuisine. It’s good, but I’ve definitely had better, and I try to redirect my taste buds/cravings to Pete’s place when I’m craving spice and authentically exotic food.

I was under the impression that all the food here tasted and smelled like my grandmother’s perfume. A more cultured person may point out that, that it was probably just Tarragon. At the time when I visited Letts Eat, I was not impressed with things like tarragon or anything that didn’t taste good to me. I’ve since been told to eat a lot of things that I don’t think taste good, because if I don’t eat them, then I’m ignorant and not trying new things. I was in a bit of a Crankshaft period —(As in Crankshaft the miserable bus driver from the funny pages — don’t worry, I usually skip over him too.) I wasn’t impressed by the décor or the buffet style(as you’ll note I and the rest of world are pretty weary of buffets) I received a glass of water in a very small cup, and the cup was one of those brown ones with the little dots on the bottom that makes you think that no matter how much you clean it, it’s probably still a little dirty. The service was nice enough, but I still didn’t feel like I really had a grasp of what I was doing, if I should be up there just scooping things on to my plate, or how to order a drink — I eventually managed to get a can of soda, but it was too late by then — I had drank my companion’s water along with mine, and I fell into some hot sweats. When we finally left, my back was hurting, I think from the over all anxiety I faced throughout the dining experience(was everyone really just staring at me). I tried to explain how I thought the food tasted bad, and I was sure that’s how it was supposed to taste and maybe I just wasn’t accustomed to those flavors. The person I was with explained that yes, that was the case and the food had actually been very good and if I hadn’t been there, her dining experience may have been nice as well. To which my thoughts were: You’ve never seen Rocky and you just act like you don’t like it. People have different taste, and this may suit your taste — but I had to cook a minute steak when I got home because I was starving.

Tasty spot! Definitely recommend when in WB. The staff is very service oriented and the food is very good. Beware the directions link from Unilocal is incorrect sending you to N. Main when the place is S. Main & E. Northhampton. Also, for you Indian food newbies, the staff here is very happy to explain and recommend dishes. They spend the time because they smartly know if you feel welcome and like what you get, you will be back. There is a lunch buffet til 3p and and early bird special M-Thurs for seniors that is a lot of food and great value. Enjoy!

Newly opened the end of 2013, this is a nice little place a block away from Public Square, in Wilkes Barre. I went today to try the lunch buffet. The place was empty, probably because $ 11 for lunch in downtown is pretty steep. If this restaurant would lower their lunch buffet price to about $ 6 – 8, they would be jammed with customers. The buffet consisted with 8 covered buffet servers over sterno heaters. There was a half dozen dressings to go with the garden salad and naan bread. There was a «Rose Milkshake» offered from a drink fountain. The hot dishes were several kinds of chicken in sauce, I couldn’t tell you the names now. There was a bean & lentil dish, a potato & string bean dish, a mixed grilled veggie dish, flavored rice. The food was excellent. The host & servers were cordial. I felt very much like I had been invited into their home to enjoy their best cooking. I will go again, I would like to try their dinner plates. I’d go much more often if their prices were a little lower :) But then, to find such a rare treat as Indian cuisine, and high quality, in Wilkes Barre, is perhaps worth the extra cost. I hope they do well, thrive and prosper, and stay for a very long time. Wilkes Barre is sorely lacking in diversity, particularly cuisine! Best regards. Namaste.
