Stopped here before the Wildwood Beerfest. We sat upstairs at the bar and there was only a handful of people there. We ordered our drinks which were good and decided to get some food. We split a shrimp cocktail and while it looked good the shrimp were rock hard and not even chewable. We sent them back and they took them off the bill. Next up was a burger and wedge salad, both of which were good but nothing special. Everyone who worked there seemed like did not want to be there that day. Wasn’t a fan of having to pay the bar bill and food separately…

My boyfriend and I went during the last week in August for restaurant week. After looking at the Unilocal reviews, I will say I was skeptical about the service — but was pleasantly surprised. It was about a 45 minute wait when we got there, so we sat at the bar and had a drink. I had a dirty martini, and my boyfriend had their spiked iced tea with ginger. The drinks were fabulous, and the bartender was very nice. Once we were seated we both decided on the restaurant week menu. Everything was delicious! We had the scallops wrapped with bacon, Manhattan clam chowder, lobster raviolis, the filet oscar, and then crème brûlée for dessert. Needless to say, we were happily stuffed when we were finished. And I wish I could remember our waiters name, because he was just great. He had an Australian accent, I hope he’s still there next summer, because we will be back!

Food was terrible. Drinks were terrible. And I ate here 3 times. All three times were bad. Only thing that’s nice is its near a boat dock.

We went to the Ice House’s inside restaurant for Restaurant Week. We made reservations for 6:30 pm. We left the restaurant at 8:40 pm after having been served our appetizer and salad/soup courses. Other patrons who were seated after us were half way through their entrees. When we complained, we were told that because we had ordered filet on two of our entrees the meals were taking longer. However we knew another patron in the restaurant who had a 7:30 pm reservation and was eating his filet while we were not. I know that things can happen and people can make errors. However, the management needs to step up and take responsibility, not make lame excuses for why a patrons service was not up to par. While the food that we had a chance to eat was good, the service that we were provided was poor.

While the food was good we waited over an hour and a half to be served and the service was terrible the manager was quite rude and I will never go back. To add insult to injury the manager was so rude that she did not even offer to try and make it right. Fast food would have been better

This is a nice place for dinner. Our family of three was able to walk right in at 6 and get a nice table. The menu is full of seafood choices, flatbreads, a couple of burgers, and the appetizer options were plenty as well. There is a nice wine list as well as a full bar. The restaurant downstairs doesn’t have draft beer, only bottles. We ordered the kids spaghetti and meatball. The pasta was cooked properly and the sauce was fabulous. It certainly seemed to be a well done home made sauce and the meatball was equally good and also homemade. It’s nice that the kids get a real meatball and actual crayola crayons! I ordered the shrimp crab and asparagus flatbread that was dressed well with a nice pesto and mozzarella. My wife ordered the ahi tuna which was tasty and fresh but for our liking there was too much of the wasabi crème fresh. She also had the caprese which was awesome, great tomatoes, they gotta be jersey tomatoes! We enjoyed our evening here and would definately come back but if you want a quiet evening as a couple, it’s probably not the best place for an intimate dinner as there isn’t anything to deaden the sounds of the many diners enjoying themselves.

Best steak dinner in wildwood hands down! When I want a good steak dinner down the shore I come right here. New York strip with the Gorgonzola topping is delicious! Cooked to perfect temp. My wife got the scallops Capri and lover hers also. We will be coming back before the end of the summer for sure. Our waitress name was Alex she was very attentive and professional. If I could leave constructive Criticism it would be to change the sauce and size of the mussels otherwise I give it Five stars for sure!

Worst experience I’ve ever had dining in a wildwood restaurant in the past 14 yrs that I’ve vacationed here. I wouldn’t even give it 1 star if it wasn’t required. Its a total shame that such a nice looking establishment has such low class owners and employees.(With the exception of Tom our waiter) First off, I have celiac disease and have to make sure that each restaurant I visit uses fresh fruit for their drinks and not gluten soaked garbage. I called first the night before and asked an employee what they use and she said they used fruit for strawberry daquiris. My boyfriend and I decided to stop by for a late dinner on Monday 7⁄13. The restaurant was supposed to stay open until 1am. We arrived at 9:45pm and the restaurant was already trying to close its doors. The employees said«you could eat here if you waaant, BUT we are already ready to close sooo…» At that point we already had a bad feeling about this place, but were willing to come back the next day for the tuesday specials. We came back the following night(7⁄14) and were seated on the top deck and served by Tom.(a nice young man with manners) My boyfriend ordered the crab cake sandwich and a long island iced tea.(he said it wasn’t bad, but he definitely has had better at neighboring restaurants.) I ordered the seafood salad and what was supposed to be a FRESHFRUITSTRAWBERRYDAQUIRI. The seafood salad was extremely bland, and the portion size was comparable to that of an appetizer.(At a cost of $ 18 btw) The Daquiri came and was filled with ARTIFICIALDRINKMIXER with the consistency of a slurpy! I told the waiter the drink was not made right and asked him to bring it back and make it the way I needed it to be done. He returned, and the drink still consisted of artificial mixer ingredients. At that point, I told him that I was no longer interested in having a drink and to please take it off the bill as I was unable to consume the drinks. He left the table and a bartender came to the table to try and force me to order another drink. He said he would make it with fresh ingredients etc. I told him I wasn’t interested, but he insisted and had the waiter bring another to the table. He MADEME try another. It was still not right and In fact not even a strawberry Daquiri anymore! I said«Thank you for trying, but Im just not satisfied with the quality, and would rather drink my water as it was a safer choice for my well-being.“The bartender comes back over and then says«Let me get this straight… You don’t want any of these drinks?» I replied«That is correct. Thank you for trying, but I have celiac and cannot consume these types of drinks with artificial syrups and sweeteners.» He then says«Well! I just made you 3 drinks and you should pay for at least one!»(with an attitude) I replied«No. I should not be required to pay for drinks that I did not consume and could become seriously ill from.» I then preceded to state that I was not even happy with the seafood salad but was willing to pay for that so that the waiter could still receive a decent sized tip for being so kind and curteous. He then replied«Well then! I guess the customer is ALWAAAAYS right! «(with an attitude and extreme sarcasm) That really rubbed us the wrong way, but being as patient as we are, we were willing to let THAT go. As we waited for the check to arrive, a snotty young 20 something girl walked over to our table and says to me «I just wanted to suggest that if you aren’t pleased with our menu, you shouldn’t come back here!» My bf and I both got up and replied in unison«DIDYOUREALLYJUSTSAYTHATTOUS!!!» At that point, I looked at my bf and said«Put your wallet away, We are leaving this piece of ish place! Don’t you dare pay a f’in dime!!!» Then a small nasty lil’ woman walked over to me and said«You better pay it all or I’ll call the cops!» I replied«GOAHEAD! AND I’LLTELLTHEMHOWYOUKNOWINGLYTRIEDTOPUTMEINTHEHOSPITALBYTRYINGTOFILLMYBODYWITHWHATARECONSIDEREDPOISONOUSINGREDIENTSTO A CELIACSUFFERER!!!» She then preceded to make a scene and cursed me and my bf off in front of the entire top deck of the restaurant saying that me having Celiac wasn’t her problem and that we weren’t allowed to come back anymore. I replied«Ummm, but why would I return to such a low class place who doesn’t even care about the quality of thier menu items nor their customers well being???» We then left. I have NEVER In my life been so disrespected. This place and it’s caliber of customer service are a complete disgrace to what wildwood has spent decades to be. .A place for family and couples to get away, enjoy themselves, and make their experience feel like a home away from home. This place doesn’t deserve to open here. Maybe the town should also look into this. Including the quality of the restaurant and the handling of the food which was also questionable. I hope this was helpful to my fellow Unilocalers!

5th time we have been here and once again we weren’t disappointed in the food or the service. Our server Maureen was excellent and so on top of everything. We prefer to eat in the dinning room and that has different food from the upstairs deck area. They get all their sea food still fresh from the docks across the street. They take reservations which is wonderful in the Wildwood area. I’m from Northern NJ and we have really great places to eat in that area. So I would have to say this place is one of the better places to eat in this area. I posted some new pictures of our dinners, they were delicious, fresh and presentation was wonderful.

Worst hosting ever! Hostess wouldn’t even seat us when ¾ of the restaurant was empty, cause their servers couldn’t handle the four tables they each had. Was told it was going to be a wait, umm how bout you just seat us and give us a warning that the server will just be a little bit since she just got double sat. We left and went to Alfie’s, and had great service right away!

One star for the food. Sat upstairs and ate in total darkness. Crazy crazy place. People were friendly but I think this place should have lighting… August…you should be able to pay the light bill

Average food but the nastiest bartender ever. Ordered ginger monitor which was awful. 2 sips and asked for a beer instead. He wanted to charge me for both and had a hissy fit when I said no. There are dozens of better places than this with servers who know how to be respectful.

My family has been coming to the Wildwoods since I can remember. We dine out all the time, and have been to just about every restaurant on the island. The Ice House is my absolute favorite! I go here about 8 times a summer and they always deliver an excellent meal. We typically make reservations for their dining room and the experience is the same whether you have 2 people in your party, or 10. I wanted to highlight a few menu items that I absolutely love. First, the crab cakes are literally the best I have ever had! It’s almost to the point where I won’t order them anywhere else. My family also enjoys when they have prime rib on their specials list. It is a really delicious cut of beef and a solid value. As for appetizers, the scallops wrapped in bacon are a personal favorite. The flatbreads are a tasty new addition to the menu that I’ve tried for the first time just recently. Reading some of the other reviews, I was surprised to see that there were some complaints about the staff. Our group has always been treated well by our waiters/waitresses at the Ice House. Finally, the bartenders actually know how to make cocktails here! I’m a dry martini guy and I always start my meal with one when I come here. Definitely take advantage of the bar when you visit the Ice House. If anything, a few cocktails will help you remember that at the end of the day… YOU’REATTHEBEACH! Enjoy!

We are dinner on the roof deck. The server took an incredibly long time to come take our orders. The food didn’t come out for an incredibly long time. I got one crab cake in my $ 13 crab cake platter. The food was just okay. The drinks were very good. I don’t think I’d ever eat here again…

Shrimp and scallop scampi was average, the sauce was a little buttery but not overly rich. Also had a nice balance with the wine and garlic. Linguini was cooked nicely. Came with three well cooked shrimp and five large delicious scallops.
Chicken parm was a little dry but the sauce was very good, had a nice flavor of green peppers in the sauce. The desert was the disappointment. Chocolate lava cake was cooked through and not gooey at all. And the apple blossom seemed it may of been frozen. We were seated right away and were served by a very nice and personable waitress. Service was prompt. But the place was empty. Kind of had a banquet room feel but but overall not a bad experience, definitely a nice place to go to in a pinch.

The Ice House is a hidden treasure for this island. The ambiance is unlike any other restaurant in the near location. The seafood is fresh, the drinks are original, and the service is exceptional! My mom’s favorite drink is the Ice House Spritz(St. Germain Liqueur, Sauvignon Blanc, club soda, and lemon). The Mojitos are also to die for! My family and I get into the ice house for dinner at least 5 or 6 times per summer since the establishment’s advent and never have we left unsatisfied. The two negative reviews of 15 here, leave me bewildered. I find this to be one of the best resto’s at the beach, and as for snobby comments about perceived local ignorance regarding dining, it’s completely unwarranted. I’m a center city resident and frequent all of the top spots.
