I’m usually the behind the scenes person at the property management office I work in, handling the books and paying the bills. Earlier this year we needed some repairs done to property we rent, the rest of the office was out on vacation, so it was up to me to get my big girl panties on and take care of things. I asked around with other realtors and property managers and a couple people suggested CMC for some remodeling work they’d had done in the past. I dislike calling companies in general, for business or personal reasons, but I had no issues when calling and talking with Clayton for a general quote. I also called around to two other companies, using my standard«get three quotes» rule that I pulled from nowhere over the years. Prices were relatively the same for one, though I wasn’t too positive about the person as they were pretty unprofessional on the phone. Another, their price was so low I questioned the quality. So, I went with CMC. A prior renter had thrashed some flooring in a kitchen as well as nearly destroyed the deck. Another home needed repairs to tile and general drywall patching from idiotic picture hanging or a horrible fight gone wrong(our only guess). Clayton was upfront and said the estimate was just that and I’d know the final amount once they saw the actual work that needed to be done. He also said the work couldn’t be done for a week but if they could fit it in earlier they would. Works for me. We were having other things fixed on the properties so I was at the homes during some of the time they were working on the repairs. Bonus for me… I didn’t get the heeb jeebies, «creepy» feeling like I have with other companies in the past. Friendly chatter but got right into work and finish the jobs relatively quickly. When they had to stop one night and finish the next I received a phone call with an update and as stated, they finished the next day. They even cleaned up after themselves, couldn’t even tell anyone had been working in there. From my experience, not everyone does that(even though they should). Generally we have an onsite repairman from one of our other properties handling the repairs, but these required work beyond his skills. Next time we need such work done, I’ll definitely be calling CMC. Friendly, even a sense of humor, reasonable prices and quality work.
