A lot of hot women on a Friday night. Good bartenders. Kinda small.

The only knock is that the awesome drinks were expensive and I spent too much money. On Friday’s at 8pm, there is a Salsa dancing lesson where a wonderful instructor walks(dances) you through a set of moves so you can, for a brief moment, act like you know what you are doing when salsa music comes on. The place is modern, and really well laid out. The bar is long and the service is decent. People were dressed in jeans, but I was dressed up and I wasn’t out of place. After the lesson the place turns into a proper club, where people are dancing and having fun. This next comment you are gonna think I am crazy, and maybe it’s the demographics of Wichita, but the women to guy ratio was easily 2 to 1. Maybe even 3 girls to every guy in the place. I only went Friday, but I would love to go back. My girlfriend loved it. So if you are looking for something fun to do on a Friday, go there around 8 and don’t forget you have hips!

The place is okay. I like to go on Fridays because it is known to be Latin Fuego night. However, that is not really the case. They do play some salsa, merengue, reggaeton and bachata. That is only 20% to 30% of the night. Plus the music is so out-dated. The DJs really need to update their playlists. I can’t believe they play the same thing over and over again. Overall: Pro: friendly environment, clean. Cons: small place, music is out-dated(DJs suck), bartenders are inefficient, drinks are pricey!

I Went on a Friday night which is Latin fuego night. I’m not sure how this place is on Saturdays when the typical top 40 music is played, but my wife and I really had a good time. A huge plus on this night is from 8 to 9 pm there is free salsa dancing lessons. This was actually unknown to us when we showed up but the instructor was very helpful and taught use some basic steps. I am an awful dancer so a few pointers helped a lot. If you can tell me any other place that offers this for free I’d love to know. I would also like to mention that the interior of this place has a nice modern, upscale feel. I actually felt like I wasn’t going to get robbed at a place in Old Town. As for the crowd there was a decent group of couples who ranged from the mid 20s to mid 30s that actually salsa danced quiet well. However, we were there pretty early for club times and the place certainly started to become younger after 11. If you are trying to avoid the negative crowds of Old Town and enjoy some dancing then I would suggest showing up a bit earlier than usual to get a few dance lessons then find a nice spot near the dance floor. As for the drinks they were definitely a bit overpriced but honestly a place that actually tries to look classy and also offer some culture to Wichita(there are some jazz shows during Wednesday and Thursday this summer) I can’t complain too much. Plus there is no cover at all.

Soooo glad this place is in Wichita. Amidst sports bars and dubious dance clubs, lies Suede. My husband and I had been curious about this place for a while, and finally decided to go. I have no idea how this place is on a Saturday; we went on a Friday — Latin Fuego night(think, salsa dancing). When we came(around 9) there were people practicing dance steps, and a woman invited us to join, and showed us some moves(for free). We must have came at the very end, because after about 10 – 20 minutes, she had to go, and most of the people left. It wasn’t long after that that more people started coming in, most in their late 20s-early 30s. By the time we left(around 11:30), the place was full of people. Environment: I would describe the inside as modern. White couches cover the perimeter of the place, with ample seating for most groups. Lit candles were on the tables and on the walls. There is also a small dance floor. Music & Dance: They played a variety of Latin dance music. It was great to hear and see people actually dancing with(vs. grinding up on or sneaking up from behind) each other. Drinks: When I asked the bartender if there were any specials, she said Mojitos. Being my naïve self, I said, sure. Haha… they were $ 9 bucks each, but, they were good. Our other drinks weren’t as expensive, only $ 3 for domestic bottles, and $ 4 for wells. Staff: Nothing to complain about. There were more security guards(?) as the night went on, although I can’t think of why they would’ve needed them. The waitresses were friendly, too. Overall, I had more fun here than I’ve had going out at other places. We’ll probably be coming back here sometime.

I have grown weary of the bar and club scene here in Wichita. It’s basically the same music any where you go. On Friday nights, Suede provides something different. They play Latin music such as salsa and reggaeton. I like the vibe, and there is a nice international mix of people. Saturdays though, Suede returns to the traditional rap dance music that you hear anywhere else. So I only recommend going on Fridays. No cover. There is a dress code. So if you want to wear casual clothes, you will need to go somewhere else. If you dress to impress, you wont have to worry about being turned away.

I can’t talk for the late night crowd, but I’ve gone a couple of times on Thursdays and they have a live jazzy vocal piano duet, 6 to 8pm,(a little pop thrown in) that I enjoyed very much. They also run drink specials, so wasn’t out much at all. I would have given them 5 stars, but the acoustics of the place could be better(the duet made up for it with raw talent).

I have a feeling the local gangs do their dance initiation here every Sat around midnight. Just see for yourself. I tried to like this place, I really did. I’ve been trying to find a place in Wichita for dancing and this has been one of my regular spots until recently. The Dj is usually pretty good and plays mostly top 40 pop hits and old school hip-hop. The drinks are overpriced. It’s definitely a sausage party when it gets busy. Ladies, don’t get too excited. Unless of course you like greasy haired poorly dressed guys in polyester suits staring you down all night. Also, there is a dress code — no hats or flip flops, just greasy hair and tacky suits.
