I usually don’t go out to eat Lao food because I could just stay home and eat it but this place surprised me. The prices are manageable and the staff are friendly.

I used to work with the owner of this restaurant when I worked at Cessna a couple of years ago. The food here is pretty good. I would recommend this place to anyone.

When I’m craving Lad Na noodles, this is my go to spot. It’s my comfort food. When we dine in groups we like to get a bunch of things to share but I always want my own Lad Na because I know I can eat the whole dish of deliciousness by myself. :) Usually they’re open Mon-Sat and closed Sunday. I still try to call them before I go just to make sure I don’t drive there to find out they’re not open.

The food is really good but order first if you want to take out. Other wise it’s a 25 – 30 minutes wait. No menu online so good luck with that. Everything taste great! Get medium spice unless you want to sweat blood, then ask for spicy. Very well priced for authentic tasty food. It’s s little hidden in a small shopping center but other then that it’s worth the wait, blood and inconvenience.

Ate here once and the food was ok. service wasn’t all too good. So I decided to try this place again. We got seated and that was pretty much it. They didn’t give us a menu or even came back to us after we were seated. They only had 1 couple there so it wasn’t busy at all. The fucked up thing is waitress and cashier kept looking over at our table but never came to give us a menu or do anything. So I said fuck this place we all got up and left. Probably why no one was eating there. We headed over to Chiang Mai instead and it was packed. I bet it was people trying to go mekong but left and came to Chiang Mai lol… ill probably never go back

Thai Lao Café has long been the only Lao restaurant in the city, and figuring out when it was open was a bit of a pain. The opening of MeKong Café right down the street had me excited. For as much as MeKong improves on the off-putting dance hall and plastic tables of their primary competitor, the food is almost a carbon copy. The menu doesn’t offer anything different, and the taste of the thum mak hoong, pad me mao, and larb were indistinguishable, save for the addition of a nice plate and some garnish. Functionally, this isn’t so bad considering I generally liked the food at Thai Lao Café, though the meat-vegetable-sauce combination is the easiest interpretation of the foods of many Asian cultures. I would have liked to see more. As it is, MeKong Café offers up the same reference point to Lao Café, though they do it with proper tables, presentation, and an atmosphere befitting an actual restaurant. By those metrics, it’s now my preferred place for this type of food.

Absolutely delicious! My favorite dishes are the pad keo mao and pad thai and I am usually not a fan of pad thai but theirs is amazing! It does not lack in flavor!
