Friendly atmosphere with a surprisingly large range of food. The waitress was very polite and super timely with my meal. Two big thumbs up :)

I like their sushi because they do not douse the sushi in sauce(Spicy mayo, eel sauce etc.) or fry everything like other sushi places. I never leave feeling like crap. Some of the waitresses don’t speak and understand English very well, but they are super friendly! Food may take awhile longer because there’s usually only 1 – 2 chefs available. 5 stars because I’m patient and plus I feel concerned when my food is ready super fast anyways

Cucumber veggie roll was warm– not cold. Shrimp tempura was bland. Gas station quality sushi for an expensive $$$.

I’ve heard some good things about this place so I had to check it out for myself. The menu is large and there is much more on it than sushi if that isn’t your thing. The rolls we ordered were good. The fish seemed to be pretty fresh and they were served quickly. We were there at lunch so I’m not sure how crowded it gets at dinner time. The Dragon roll was tasty and the rainbow roll was my favorite out of the ones we ordered. I have a couple go-to sushi places to eat closer to the west side of town but if you’re in the area Rock rd. and Harry, check this place out.

This is the the one and only Jackie, who is happy to make you special creations based on your tastes and what is best available. If you are someone who trusts the chef, this is the place to try something new!

This is the same Jacki Chans from Central and olive area. He moved to this larger location so more people could enjoy his sushi and full service Japanese kitchen. Jackie last location was a tiny place seating less than ten or twenty but serviced a loyal and steady carry out customer base. This new location can seat about 70 but the carry out is still a brisk business due to the large menu selection of tasty Japanese dishes. The sushi is very generous and the service is friendly and attentive. If your looking for a change of the Chineese carry out food you will love Jacki Chans creations and traditional dishes and never leave. Cheers

I’ve been to better sushi bars, poor service, my simple order didn’t make it to the table at one time. There was at least 10 minutes between dishes. It really wasn’t very good at all. I left half on my plate

If you enjoy spending $ 40 for sushi so frozen that you have to warm it up over the hot tea you ordered, then this is the place for you. We waited a good 30 minutes after our food arrived, before we could thaw out the rock-solid fish enough to eat it. Most didn’t thaw out well enough to even eat, and was so waterlogged and freezer burnt that it shouldn’t have been served in the first place. It was obvious that the tuna was served to us frozen because it should have been thrown away a week before. We ended up taking a piece home because we were afraid we might need the sample in case we got food poisoning, which is always a good time. The chef visited our table after our complaint and stated that he was told by a local TV personality and by the health department that he had to keep is freezers at 36 °F. That’s funny, because water freezes at 32 °F and this fish was visibly frozen. In all of my years of eating sushi, I’ve never had it served to me hard and frozen. There was no offer to make the situation right. After being blown away when we visited the old location, I really felt blown off when we visited the new location.

This place is AWESOME. Great sushi, great price! My favorite is the fried rice, I think it’s the best in town.

As much as I would love to give this a place more stars I can’t. The service was great and the people sweet but the food was very bland and over priced. We ordered 4 rolls one of which we got as we were about to leave because we thought they forgot to make it. We still had to pay for it… Tempera warmed up is going to be gross. The chef doesn’t wear gloves which is a great way to catch hepatitis… But they do give you a discount if your ems or in the medical field! The rice was old which made it very mushy and paste textured. The soup was tasteless as well. Thw California roll cost 8 dollars for only 6 pieces which is Usually about 5 everywhere else we’ve gone. The tempera wasn’t crunchy but instead tasted like it was baked and soggy. We won’t be returning even with the friendly service.: /

Drive through Sushi. I’ve never heard of such a thing. I chose to eat there because there is an open chopstick in vehicle ordnance in Wichita. It’s a pretty spartan little restaurant. There were two gentlemen in there having dinner who may or may not have been elder Yakuza and a boy sitting at another table, not eating, who scampered into the back when I walked in. A guy yelled out a welcome from the kitchen who I presume was Jacky. He didn’t clear the top of the sushi fridge by much and I have no idea what he was saying. I gathered he was offering me a drink so I asked for a ginger ale, but he had no idea what I was saying. I sat my self at a table and perused the menu. Jacky came out to offer me some kind of ginger cocktail but I was unable to partake so I just got some water. Eventually a young lady came out with ice water and took my order. The sushi was great! I had four salmon pieces, and the rainbow roll which stuffed me. Plenty of wasabi and fresh ginger. Ya gotta find the little places people. Maybe it’s not the fancy date night expensive sushi spot, but a good place to jam down some fresh fish. And, it’s got a drive through so you can eat some on the way home or to your hotel while checking your email on your phone, and trying to find a decent radio station.

Very good food!!! The location is a little sketchy and the building very small, but the waiter was very friendly and hospitable. I just got basic California rolls, but they were VERY good! I went for lunch with coworkers who ordered a variety of other selections which they also said was fantastic. Great price for great food! I would definitely visit this spot again in spite of the building and location.

If I was of Vietnamese descent and got my start working at the Japanese sushi bar of Kwan Café, I’d be a little offended at getting assigned the nickname of Hong Kong native Jackie Chan, but not Binh Tran, who moved from Kwan Café to Sakura to eventually opening up his own place that in no way is meant to connotate endorsement by the film superstar of similar-but-distinctly-different spelling. While the name sounds a bit like a joke, to their credit, they’ve put a significant amount of work into the small restaurant, painting and decorating the interior and exterior to feel a little more professional and nicer than you would expect. You might also not expect a $ 20 bento box to be listed on their lunch menu, but there are other cheaper options available. I just didn’t want them. The spicy salmon maki was dominated by cream cheese, the only other ingredient in the roll. The California roll was good, and I liked how the salmon roe gave a little bit of salt, but it was otherwise pretty standard. The salmon, tuna, and albacore were cut a little sloppy and, more importantly, were heavy on the rice wine vinegar that was used to marinate the fish. I’m not big on temaki cones, but the grilled salmon wrapped within was good enough. It was a decent box of food for the money, though with the exception of the temaki it was executed in the most boring way. Wichita’s sushi game has changed quite a bit since Kwan Court was at the height of their popularity. Jacky Chan Sushi is still a member of the old guard who’s managed to stay in the sushi business for so long thanks to hard work and a decent product. It’s not going to take anything away from Wasabi or Kanai, but as a neighborhood sushi restaurant it’s good enough.
