An old favorite. Best fajitas I’ve found in Wichita. Great, cheap Mexican with no frills.

Great food and fast service! Chips and salsa were refilled timely and were good which is always important at a Mexican restaurant :)

We have a new favorite Mexican food restaurant! The chips and salsa were really good! My 2 sons and I all got the fried flour tacos, and my husband had the chicken smothered burrito. It was all AMAZING! The waitress was very sweet, and we didn’t have to wait very long at all for our meals. The atmosphere is really nice, and I love that it isn’t huge. We will definitely be back!

If I were visiting Wichita and had an opportunity to eat only one meal, it would be at El Patio. The smothered beef, bean and cheese burrito is to die for. I have been eating it since circa 1992. The chips and salsa are always fresh and in endless supply. If El Patio were to open a sister store in Corvallis, Oregon, I would most likely have to check into rehab.

Yum! I had the El Patio combo, and it was delicious. Great salsa. Wasn’t crowded in the evening, no wait.

My favorite mexican restaurant now! I crave it! their chips and salsa are the best. Busy with nurses and other medical workers during weekday lunch(scrubs). If you only try your«go to» menu item, you might be disappointed. Try something different & you might be pleasantly surprised!

Took my Mom there who was visiting from out of town. Wanted to go someplace good and local that they couldn’t get back home. Read the glowing reviews and thought this was the place. Should have turned around when we stepped in the door. It was lunchtime on a Saturday and there was hardly any people there. The tables were cramped and didn’t look like they put much effort into making it comfortable. I can look past comfort for killer food so we took a chance. The service was slow, the prices were expensive and the food was bland. The waitress forgot our cheese dip and we had to ask twice. The children’s plate consisted of plain cut up chicken and beans and rice. Very average. Not impressed. Won’t be going back.

Yuk. Greasy chips. I think the guac had lard in it. «Smothered» means canned nacho sauce.

This was a place we «USED» to go to for lunch. I say«used to» because they overcharged us for Sauce that we did not order and when I called he was rude and acted like he didn’t care. It is ridiculous that if you go into the place to eat, your chips and sauce are free, but if you order it to go they charge you for the chip and sauce. They charged us $ 2.00 for the chips and sauce which I knew they would, but they also sent extra sauce with our meal that I DIDNOT order and then charged us additional $ 2.60 for 4 sauces and there were only 3 meals that were ordered. I guess this is how they gouge you on your ticket and if you don’t pay attention, you are paying more for something you didn’t even order!!! All of us from work used to order our lunch from there as a group thing, but NOMORE!!! We don’t need these kind of restaurants in WIchita!!! I told him that we would never order from them again, and he just said okay thanks. POOR customer service here!!!

Great burritos. I love their Chile rellano burrito and my husband who loves to play with his food loves their ranchero plate. I like their salsa. Easy on the wallet and yummy.

Favorite restaurant in Wichita for over a decade. My standard for Mexican food. I either get the chile relleno meal or the vegetable fajitas. In former days I would have gotten either a beef flour taco or a smothered tamale. Everything I have tried is on point. The staff is friendly and I’ve felt comfortable and happy there every time. The location is enjoyable too, great jump off point for a day of downtown(+ riverside, midtown, etc) adventures.

It’s easy to forget El Patio, a little too north of Old Town on Central, and even further west than My Tho(though only a little bit) and recessed a bit behind a parking lot, but there’s still enough to make El Patio(Spanish for«The Patio,» dontchaknow) a viable dinner alternative when traversing Old Town, especially in the face of a closed Angela’s and nothing other than a Playa Azul to fool you into thinking you’re eating Mexican food. The actual meal was as uneventful and quick as any other Mexican meal, but I recall not being displeased by my platter of pork burrito, tostada, and puffy taco. Bonus points for the puffy taco, which is the national dish of San Antonio, but becomes less prevalent the more north you go. They lose some points for the tostada, which I maintain is a complete waste on a platter meal and serves as nothing but filler. They’re hard to eat, beans are the most complicated food on them, and they usually repeat flavors found in other menu items. However, I love it when I get my very own squeeze bottle of salsa, because I go to town with that thing, and typically leave it about half full. I haven’t really been looking for it, but I think offering the puffy taco is significant. Otherwise, solid Mexican food downtown, and it stays open later than Angela’s on Friday.

I had their Huevos Rancheros and it was good. The chips were nice and cruchy, while I had a choice of mild and hot salsa to pour on my small plate. Handmade corn tortillas were good and went well with the meal. The ice tea was ok, but the over all experience was exceptional. Highly recommend this place. I was told their enchiladas are great as well, but I didn’t try them.
