Beehive Salon

Im a repeat client at Beehive Salon. I go to Annie and typically get a full color weave and cut. I have long, dense — but fine hair. Annie has helped me understand what Aveda styling products to buy to protect my hair when styling. She also has recommended protein treatments that improved the damage I had in my hair before coming to the salon. I understand that personnel also attend continuing education classes — sometimes traveling to different states to get training. I appreciate this as I want to go to a salon that is investing in improving skills and is up to date on best trends. Overall, I keep coming back to Beehive because of the quality service and knowledge of the staff regarding techniques that have helped me achieve the healthier hair I was looking for.

A little worse than average. Very good prices (I’m coming from a larger city out west so maybe the prices are just good by comparision). But I’ve now gone here twice because it’s close to where my dad lives — once when I was visiting a couple of years ago now just recently to get a cut and partial highlights, and have been disappointed both times. Both times the highlights were kind of randomly placed, and not at all blended. I have all these chunky streaks now. The cut is a perfectly decent, shoulder length bob, but doesn’t have anything special about it. The girl who did it was very sweet, but didn’t seem to have a lot of confidence or imagination, seems like she simply went to hair school to have a job to support a baby long ago and didn’t seem to have any particular interest or expertise in hair design or style. She actually tried to tease my hair like they did in the 80’s as a means of styling it which horrified me. They do use good products, but the whole vibe of the place is kind of cramped and not at all relaxing. (They also play country music, which annoyed me.) I will not be coming back, and although I don’t dislike my hair enough to call and complain, I definitely would not recommend this salon.
