Love this church, but there is a lot of growth that has gone on lately, but I love John Riley and I love the messages! The church is really big with a lot of members, but I love this church!

Love this church! The pastor is great and LOVE the band! I drive an hour on Sunday’s and worth it!

It’s decent, but current young pastor is OK after a long search after the previous one (he was good) retired. Hopefully, he will get better (actually is so far).

I LOVE LOVE LOVE WACC! I’ve been going here for almost 2 years now and it feels like a second home! Actually I spent most of my time here anyways! Everyone greets you with open arms and family like attitude. I look forward to Sundays at WACC! They are going through a pastoral change, and although I will miss Pastor Bill I am extremely excited in the direction we are moving. Much credit to all the pastoral staff and search committee. The worship here is BY FAR the best in the area if not all of southerN California, and beyond (?). But it’s the message that really counts! You leave service feeling pumped! MAKE FISHERS OF MEN! Let’s get to work! But seriously, they have such a great team and great staff! Especially JUNIOR HIGH MINISTRY!(I may be a little partial since I am on junior high staff hehe). If your child is in 7^th or 8^th grade, bring him or her to WACC! Or any other grade, we have a place for everyone! We have the best staff who are eager to lead small groups that learn more about God and about each other! And we may have a little fun too! You will not be disappointed! Neither will your child! Come one come all! Bring your family and friends and come join us at WACC!

Love this place! My kids love this place! Lots of different ministries. My kids have played soccer and basketball for a few years and the people who are in charge of the sports ministry are very caring. During worship the music is wonderful and keeps me coming back. I am also involved in celebrate recovery on Monday nights and have attended many women’s events. This is a great place to worship!

To all parents: if you are looking for a church with a great junior high ministry, this is not the place. This is a very long post, but if you’re genuinely interested in finding a good ministry for your kid, please take the time to read this. Never in a million years did I think I would sit here and have to write such a poor review on a church, and it breaks my heart. If anyone is looking to take their kids to a safe haven in terms of a great youth ministry, your kids will not thrive here. And I mean it. I volunteered here as a small group leader, and after being there for a whole school year, I have never walked away from a ministry so heart-​broken because of how poorly the ministry is run.
There is absolutely no structure to this ministry. The foundation is not built on Jesus; rather, it is built on fun. And don’t get me wrong, it is important to have fun. I remember having a blast at my old junior high ministry. But we also focused on God. And in this ministry, not enough time is spent on teaching the word of God and mentoring the kids. This is such a crucial time for junior highers; they will face obstacles and struggles and they will have questions. At this time, we are supposed to be teaching them that God is bigger than all of what they face and we should be laying that solid foundation for them. We should be teaching them about discipleship. Why? Because when they get to high school, they will continue to face obstacles, but if they have that set foundation, they know to rely on God and follow Him. In this junior high ministry, however, a majority of the time is spent playing games and having fun. On Sunday mornings during service, it is normal when the junior high pastor only speaks for about 10 minutes. How is it that the kids can hear the word of God and a great sermon in just 10 minutes? They can’t. Because they are not given that opportunity. They are not given the opportunity to experience God in deeper ways, and they are not given the opportunity to be challenged. Friends, if we are not being challenged, how are we supposed to grow in our faith and deepen our relationship with God? Jesus said that being a disciple wouldn’t be easy. I hope that something within the ministry changes sometime soon, because the way things are run in that ministry is a disservice to God and His kingdom. And I really don’t want to speak badly about the executive board or anything, but the fact that they have not addressed the junior high pastor about this speaks poorly on their judgment. And frankly, I’m surprised he hasn’t gotten fired yet. My heart breaks for this ministry because the kids aren’t being fed the word of God. I pray that God will move in this ministry and there will be a change of heart in how things should be run.

Ive been trying to like this place. and I guess maybe I haven’t attended as many services as I could to give it a proper review but I think… I don’t know.

Youth groups are more about fun than learning the word of God. There is a lot to do at this church, always something going on but they focus so much on planning events when they should focus on teaching the bible. I remember going to Jr high summer camp and we had maybe an hour of church a day then it was all games

We just started coming here probably going on week 3 (as of tomorrow). So far we love it! We both have Catholic backgrounds and while the nearest Catholic church to us (not a negative btw) as w/​all are aware are overcrowded; honestly we’re changing gears in our middle age and just want to make peace w/​ourselves, everyone else & most of all peace w/​God. In saying that, I love how you go and it’s just such an experience, we leave here feeling refreshed, feel good attitude and the people there are like us, going and absorb it and part ways onto our days, (most of them too probably more in years attending have gained friendships and know each other), its just so nice!
It’s big, but very accommodating. There’s parking galore and they have people directing traffic, so organized! There is also a little area off to the side in front of the church were you can sit down, reflect or gather around w/​acquaintances, they have coffee, sell items for fund raising, one popular items are the Car show t-​shirts and it’s truly a great thing they are doing!
On the other side they have the classrooms for the kids and for groups that they have meeting throughout the week as well. One of them being for Cancer (LivIng with Hope Cancer Support Group) meets there twice a month. I went there just last week, first time and they took me in with open arms, hearts and gave me such insight, educated in regards to nutrition, prayer and talk about what your going through as a patient going through it, a survivor, a caregiver, etc. I was so glad I went, I looked forward to going from now on and I feel confident in saying I will continue to go even after I’m done w/​treatments. I’m inspired and I want to be there for others, especially newly diagnosed, because I know how they feel. It’s dear to my heart.
I forgot to mention they have young sports programs like Basketball & Soccer, my daughter was involved in the Basketball and loved it. I believe they have sports for adults too.
Car show has become one of the popular events with the community, so awesome, (Proceeds from last event went to fund community projects in our town of Whittier), everyone is welcome and should check it out when they have them annually.
They have so many programs, it’s good to check out, there is something for everyone.

CLASSIC CAR SHOW
(Review Only)
Mans love affair (including myself) with the automobile began over 100 years ago, when Henry Ford rolled out the Model T in 1909 and sold for $ 850. Listen to this, the first car produced by Rolls Royce was a 1904 model, only 16 were made between 1904 – 1906. There are only 2 known to exist today. Both in museums. The sale of the last one made the Guinness World Record as the most expensive car sold, for $ 8 million!
Okay. on to the car show. I was pleased to learn that all proceeds from this event will fund community projects in the Whittier area, where I live. So many beautiful cars and trucks were here, including hot rods, street rods, musle cars and classics.
There was live music, kids activities & games, vendor booths, raffle prizes and wonderful food trucks. Trophies are awarded at the end of the show for many categories, including best of show. To top it all off, if you could imagine, the weather was incredibly magnificent with clear blue skies. My best in show!

For the past 4 years, I have been attending WACC. I did not grow up in a religious home, but did attend a Catholic Church on occasion. I had a friend who kept on talking about her church and how they would help people in the local area and a hospital they were raising funds for to build in Malawi. One day I decided to go and was treated in such a friendly way, that I was not used to. My children went to their respective classes and loved it. We have never stopped going since that one day. I love everything about that church. I love the music, I love the Pastors, I love the programs for the children, I love the different opportunities I have had to volunteer in, and I love the friendships I have developed in the past few years. It truly feels like a home, so give it a chance and come over to WACC.

Whittier Area Comm Church has been my family’s home church for over 10 years. We love our church! The pastor is so insightful and teaches the Word of God in a way that is so understandable helps you apply the Word to life in today’s world. The music is just amazing!
WACC has great children, jr high and high school programs. It has a wonderful sports program for kids. There are great bible studies, women’s ministry and men’s ministry. The people are so inviting! The church is a bit large but just by reaching out a little and getting involved in one of the many ministries, we felt right at home really fast! Give our church a try! Come join us on Saturday night or Sunday morning.

this is my second time reviewing this location, so i’ll try to be a bit less explicit with my language and explain my feelings about my visits there first hand.
first: the youth group pastors are young teenagers who are being treated as babysitters. i remember going to FAD when i was younger at this church and getting injured several times, the youth pastor did not care, nor did he have any idea what he was doing other than the end where he made the horrible segway of relating the fact that playing with glowsticks at night was fun… and GOD was also fun.
second; i find this church attempting to make itself into a mega church, when there just isn’t enough of a occupancy, the parking lot is already fitting more cars than the fire code regulates for the amount of people in each building.
after listening to the pastor’s and going to this church for a solid year, i can come to the conclusion that the pastors at this church are trying to sell this idea to kids that being christian is «cool»
whether it is to them or not is not the case, the case is that you shouldn’t pick a faith because of whether or not it is «cool»
you should have deep moral and spiritual values that go along with that.
as for the adults… if you go to this church and you don”t see anything wrong with it, then that is your burden to deal with…

Whitier Area Community Church is my home church and I absolutely love it! I have been attending this remarkable and loving church for the past 12-​years! I remember being spiritually lost and seeking a church to call home in 1999. I happened to show up at the front office during a weekday (while they were closing) and was genuinely greeted with an open heart and was given my own private tour of the church! I immediately felt the inviting warmth of WACC and attended my first service that coming Sunday. I remember Pastor Bill being very funny and talking about Ricky Martin’s Livin’ La Vida Loca and just thinking to myself, ‘this pastor is totally hip!‘
There are a variety of age groups and ethnicity’s and I would highly recommend this church to anyone. WACC encompasses love and fellowship through Jesus Christ and will make you feel right at home!

WACC is an unpretentious place to fellowship with people of all ages and to learn more about what God teaches in the Bible. I try not to judge Church on its people but on if what it preaches is based solely in the Bible.
I’ve been attending WACC for the past 2 years and one of the things that keeps me going back is the fact that there are so many programs for people in various stages of life.
If you are looking for a place to belong and to get some «spiritual healing» this is a great place to start by surrounding yourself in a positive community; then, I encourage you to get involved (this is BIG church). There’s volunteer opportunities, trips, outings, study groups, etc.
