Vintage Bus Import

So, work is progressing here in Germany on the bus I bought from Laurent and which he advertised as «the best bus ever restored by vintage bus import.
As you can see from the updated pictures, we have now sandblasted the body and the results are shocking. Never before have I seen such bad workmanship. Excessive amounts of body filler «everywhere», bad welding, corrosion… Almost everything has to be done again.
One of Laurent’s customer here on Unilocal gave him a 5 star review for his restored VW Squareback. It sure looks good on the pictures with all that shiny new paint. But so did my bus before I started digging deeper (sand blasting).
Laurent offered me a thousand bucks refund but the truth is the bus needs to be full restored again which will cost sooo much money that the thousand bucks he offered are an insult in my opinion. Remembers, I paid twenty-​five thousand dollars for that vehicle.

I loved working with Laurent and his team on the restoration of my ’73 VW Squareback. When I gave it to Vintage Bus Import, my car needed engine help, body and paint work, it had dull chrome, and in general, needed some TLC. Laurent and his team made the car look run so smooth, and look so good, I get a ton of compliments when driving it around town. It gets a TON OF ATTENTION!
It was also really easy to collaborate with Laurent on restoration details: tire/​wheel treatment, rechroming vs. cleaning, roof rack, steering wheel replacement etc. And he did all my work for a very reasonable price.

If you are looking to restore your beloved VW, definitely take it to them. You will not be disappointed.
