It’s been a long time since I’ve had a good burger with well cooked fries. They actually give you leafed lettuce versus cheap shredded lettuce, and the fries are fresh nothing that’s been sitting or all nasty and soggy. This place craps on norms and tams and even makes ricks look bad. A true hidden gem

Fantastic place with excellent service. I’ve only had the breakfast burrito’s and as far as those go they are top notch here. But looking at everything else on the menu though I would say really good prices for the amount of food your getting. This place will is absolutely going to be a regular stop every time I come down this way.

Huge fan of the chicken teriyaki plate and breakfast burritos! Staff is always very friendly especially the owners :) The place itself is sort of run down but the food and price definitely makes up for its appearance. I would definitely recommend this place over any other local hamburger stand.

I work in the tobacco shop across the street and I come to this place about 3 – 4 times a month. To be honest, this place has exceptional customer service, you get alot for what you pay for and the food is excellent. The people who work here are soo nice. My all time favorite thing to get is the Patty Melt. Which for some weird reason, is how I would review a resturant. But all in all this place is one of the best places in Whittier for a bite to eat.

Been coming to here for years. From my experience, I’ve enjoyed some different kinds of foods they serve here. Currently, I still come here, but only once in a great while as I’m very cautious on what to eat nowadays. Food: Ordered a chicken burrito. I really liked how they cook it to order, which means the chicken tasted fresh. Chicken burrito also comes with lettuce, dice tomatoes, rice, and hot sauce. It was so good. They offered other items like burgers(obviously), quesadillas, teriyaki bowls, breakfast, salads, and more. Over the years, I’ve tried various foods here. Really love all their stuffs I’ve tried. And still good today obviously. Service: The service is great. They all know me very well. And they will know you very well as soon you’re a regular. Overall experience: Everything is so great here. 5 stars for great service, not just on my recent visit, also other visits I had over the last 10 years.

Came here for first time today. Place is run down inside and out which is why I passed it up everyday until when i was to tired to go far. With it being run down looking I can understand why others have commented that it doesnt look clean as it is impossible to make older places look shiny n new. I can tell you though that this place is immaculate! I am a germaphobe and clean freak. My usual test in a diner type place is to check the blinds and window ledges for dust or dirt. I couldn’t find a mark let alone dust it dirt anywhere in this place. Service was fine. It’s one of those order at counter they bring to table places. The owner did however come out from cooking to say hi to tables which seemed genuine and nice. The food was cooked fresh and quick to come to our table. While others complain portions are small, I think they are just right. People here seem to think if their plate isn’t overflowing with food then it’s a skimpy portion when in actual fact it’s a normal size to the rest of the planet. I’m from Scotland and the portion I got here would be an xl back home. I had the breakast burrito. The good-time wasn’t overfilled so you could hold it without it falling apart. There was a good amount of bacon in it and they didn’t kill it with hash browns. The not so good– my only complaint is the quality of ingredients. While it was cooked to perfection, I could tell the bacon and sausage and eggs were typical large batch discount restaurant supply ingredients. Not terrible but could have been better. Overall the service was good, staff friendly and food was good. To be a five star I would need better quality ingredients.

Once I bit into my grilled cheese sandwich I had to call a time out because it tasted scrumptious. Fries and the fried zucchini were good too but in my opinion if you fry a turd it would taste good. I try not to eat fried foods. Everything in moderation. Be prepared to wait for your order if you don’t call it in. Have fun and keep your heart healthy.

I have been coming to time out burgers since I was a kid. I remember once a week my mom would let me and my brother ride our bikes there to eat out once a month. I am so glad that as an adult this place is sill here. I love their fried zucchini and burgers are really good. They remember your name and if you place phone orders they remember your voice lol. Does that mean I eat there too often? Maybe.

I absolutely love this place. I’ve always had a great experience with them. It is a city down from where I live and I always prefer to take the drive here. Their service is awesome, they’re always checking how you’re doing and bring you whatever you need. The food is always fresh and tastes delicious. The prices are not pocket shattering either. Overall, I would recommend them 100% of the time

My family and I have been going here for years. We are creatures of habit and always order the same items: The Teriyaki Chicken plate and the double cheese burgers. The taste and quality has never changed over all these years and all of the employees are so amazing and nice. They always ask us how we are and what are kids are up to. Most of the time we take our food to go, and call ahead our orders and they are always ready when they say they’re going to be. Love It!

I came here because of the great reviews on Unilocal!I ordered food for take out to enjoy in the comfort of our home as we watched fights on the tube. I had the bacon cheese burger, it was delicious! My fiancé ordered the chili cheese fries, which he thought they were also good. In addition we ordered fried zucchini and onion rings. My fav were the fried zucchini, the best! They also give you huge portions! When I’m craving a charbroiled burger, I know I’ll be coming back here!

Read below regarding the burgers + carne asada burrito. This update incorporates the breakfast burrito + chili cheese fries. Breakfast burrito: –eggs(whites) –hash –bacon, sausage, chorizo or mixture –onions –tomato –cilantro –cheese Optional = beans. Those above were in mine. The burro itself was small. Nothing special. I didn’t think it was too bad or good. Just bleh, in between. Chili Cheese Fries: Not too shabby. The chili had a decent flavor to it. The chili didn’t smell weird, taste funny or give me the obama attacks after. Well i got obama attacked but not til 3 hours later. There was a good amount of chili and shredded cheese. The two together is a horrible b-fast combo. be weary. my stomach has adjusted to eating these kidney killing combos for a good moment now but i must admit… i must prohibit myself from such indulgence in the near future.

I have lived in Whittier for 10+ years and been dancing at the dance studio next door for many years but never ate here until this past year. The staff here is amazing, their pineapple milkshake is to die for, and their fried zucchini is such a great price for such a large box! Definitely give this place 5 stars

Another Unilocal let down, Some of you people are trippen claiming this place has the best burgers. This place is AVERAGE to slightly BELOWAVERAGE. I kept passing by this place and since so many people on Unilocal claimed the burgers were so great I stopped by. The place is run-down inside. I don’t mind old places but the booth seats are sinking in and the place is somewhat dirty. When I got my burger, it was smaller compared to other places and it was nothing special. I’d give it a 6 or 7 out of 10ATBEST. This place is comparable to John’s Best or Michael’s Super Burgers although I think those places are better than Time Out Burger. Will not try again, thanks.

The quintessential burger joint, Time Out is immaculate, the staff is friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. If you love hole-in-the-wall diners, you’ve got to check this place out. Every time I’ve been I’m greeted with a smile by every employee. The service is efficient and quick. The food… Ahh, the food. Their burgers are exactly what you’d expect from an establishment built in the 1970’s and not much changed. Simple fare with quality ingredients and the«same taste, every time» reliability of an experienced line cook. The fries are crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and oh so delicious. I’ve also tried their Chili fries, which are on par with the chili fries from The Hat and Tommy’s(i.e., amazingly delicious), and their carne asade tacos, which come with roasted chili’s, onions, plenty of cilantro and a heap of guacamole, for under $ 2 each. All in all, great food, great staff, clean establishment. The menu won’t rock you with it’s originality, but if you’re in the mood for a burger and fries you just can’t go wrong here. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the restaurant has no air conditioning, which is kind of a big deal in Southern California where summer temperatures can exceed 100 degrees, and because the menu is great, but lacks any originality.
