Went there for lunch with a last-minute group of 7. The food was really, really good, the desserts were killer(the apple/caramel whatever was AMAZING), and I’ve got to say, the service was excellent as well. Really nice and knowledgeable. Good all-around.

I’ve only been here three times. Each time I enjoyed myself and the food and atmosphere. The food is cooked by a chef that is awesome. The seta roll has so much flavor my tastebuds were dancing. The soups are wonderful as were the steaks. We ordered drinks and they were perfection. I definitely recommend and support this restaurant. I know I’ll be back!

My CA friends invited me to this elegant dining place during my annual CA trip. It is located in a very nice downtown neighborhood with modern decoration inside. We sit by by the booth next to the front, quite a lot of people for a Thursday noon. The Paella I got has a nice touch, with seafood and sausage with flavor well blended, rice was a bit off the taste, but overall a good meal. Service was on point and check all the time.

Went to this place a couple years ago. Had been wanting to go since I came to live in Whittier. It just screamed my taste. When we drove past and I saw the open cabanaesqe style seating and mimosa’s I knew I had to go. I had passed by a couple times on my way to Starbucks and checked out both, the lunch and dinner menus. It had good looking food on both menus. Finally, my aunt takes me to Setá for my birthday. We get there a little early for our reservations and were told«no, we cannot seat you yet. It’s not dinner time.» Real snotty. Points off from me. We were told we could wait at the bar, but I don’t drink. So that wouldn’t have been any experience for me. We decided to walk around outside and look the menu over to see what we were going to order. I had kinda made up my mind already. Finally, it was time to go in and be seated. We were seated prompt and that was a plus. The waiter was attentive and courteous. We order our food. I got the salmon. It was perfect! Not chewy, or mushy. It was flakey and good! Perfect on the food! Next I was surprised with a birthday platter of assorted sweets that our waiter brought out. My aunt and I shared it. We weren’t done and a bus boy comes over and takes our needed utensils and walks away, without asking us if we were done. Almost rushing us out, even though they were hardly busy. We tell our waiter. The waiter brings some back. We finish up and the check comes. A very reasonable price for everything. The waiter and the food made up for the rude hostess, and the mishap with the utensils. I give this place three stars because of the hostess/managers attitude, and because of the feeling of being rushed. Food was good though overall it was a good experience, just not great or fantastic. Hopefully things have changed for the better since I was there last. It would turn my three stars to four or possibly five.

I just LOVE this place so much! I’ve been here with coworkers a few times now and I already have my favorites! Spicy Lucy ISDEFINITELY a MUSTTRY! It’s a Setá cocktail specialty exclusive! I also crave their short rib tacos… OHMYGOODNESS! Meat is marinated to perfection … melts in your mouth! Served with a shredded cabbage/Cilantro lemon mix, a small portion of black beans and a delicious salsa that adds a beautiful spicy flavor! Everyone is always so friendly and offers excellent customer service! Ambiance is chill… a classy cozy feel… I always look forward to my next visit! I recommend this plzce

This review is regarding the service, or lack there of, by the bar and the management. I have not eaten there so I can’t speak to that. I went there with 3 others to see a band perform on Sat. 2/27, a rock band. As soon as I entered I was told in a very rude tone that next time I would not be allowed to enter the establishment if I was wearing a t-shirt. Mind you, it was a nice David Bowie t-shirt which was not offensive in any manner, shape or form. Also, the band nor the establishment had indicated that there was a «dress code» for the show. We were told to go to the«back room» until the band or music started. We did so. First of all they had 2 bars in 2 different rooms a large room and a smaller room. They are stocked differently, why would any establishment do this? You can’t get the same drink at the different bars. We had to go to one bar to get a Moscow Mule and to a different bar to get a Apple Martini. Why wouldn’t the bar manager buy the key ingredients for both bars to stock? It behooves me. They took my id to give me a Moscow Mule because they’ve had issues with people stealing the copper mugs… wow really? Ok no problem. So the problems started while trying to order drinks at the smaller bar. 2 bartenders on an extremely busy night with over 15 people standing at the bar and others standing behind you. I had been waiting patiently for at least 20 minutes plus when they guy next to me finally ordered. I finally made eye contact with the bartender, whom I may add I had tipped very generously on my previous visit to the bar. So after he comes back he decides to help the guy’s friend whom just had ordered and who’d been flicking his credit card at him for at least 2 minutes. Naturally, I made a remark and told him I had been waiting patiently and that the other guy came out of nowhere. A bit of a discussion ensued between me and the guys next to me, but we resolved it and we were all good. Next thing I know, the lights over the bar are on and some guy is in my face from behind the bar and asking me what my problem is. I told him that I had no problem and had been waiting patiently after 30 mins now and want to order my drink. He kept on insisting that there was a problem. I looked to the guy next to me whom I had the argument with and we all concurred that there was no issue and we wanted to just order. He leans back and talks to the bartender, the same guy whom I had tipped and was going to serve the other guy, and leans forward to me and says…“My bartender is telling me you are being a dick!“ Of course, to my surprise, I said wow I didn’t know that having to wait this long and being passed up would make me a dick… but no problem. So I decide to leave that bar to walk over to the bigger bar. All of a sudden the same guy comes around with a huge bouncer whom was at the door and had«graciously» greeted me when I had first entered and was told about their supposed dress code. The bouncer was about 6 ft 3 and 285 pounds. I’m 5 ft 9 and 195. So this guy(Javier) whom I later found out was the manager tells me to go talk to him outside, and he puts his hands on me. I tell him to first take his hands off me and I have nothing to talk to him about. He insists again to go outside and talk, of course I knew where this was going, so I fold my arms across my chest and tell him if he wants to talk to me he can do it right there and then. I guess he did not like that response because he gestures to his bouncer and all of a sudden I am put in a bear hug by this thug(Jake) the bouncer, manhandled and violently dragged out and then thrown out of the back door. When I say thrown out, this guy flung me out… like a rag doll. I go flying out and hit the concrete pavement, my head bounces off as well as my body. Of course I use some choice words with both of them. Later on I find out that they were pushing out my date and my buddy’s girlfriend prior to me being man handled. Needless to say, I will never visit this discriminatory establishment ever again that treats their patrons this way without even giving them the benefit of the doubt as to what happens. If this behavior is condoned by the manager, how do you expect the rest of the staff to behave!!! Completely pathetic!!!

Just moved to the area and made it our goal to try each and every local restaurant in the uptown whittier area. This was first on our list We came here the eve of Valentines day with no reservations. we were seated immediately and was presented a valentines Prie fix menu. there wasn’t many choices so luckily the waiter told us that we can also only the«small plates» from the regular menu. I ordered several dishes from that… and my husband ordered the filet mignon with the chorizo sauce from the valentines menu. EVERYTHING was YUMMY!!! my tuna tartare was flavorful, the crab cake was also very good. the husband loved his filet mignon, so we are very glad we gave this place a try. it was like Beverly hills fine dining tucked away in whittier. I cant forget about the Aprodite’s kiss drink that I ordered. very pretty but also very tasty! we will most likely come back for another special occasions. Two thumbs up to the chef who walked around to every single table to introduce himself and greet everyone. Such a nice touch!

Came here for the second time. It was a great experience last year on Valentines day and did not let me down this time as well. The service was great and the food of course! My future in-laws loved this place. You might have to consider spending some money here but definitely worth bringing someone who are important to you. Romantic, welcoming, with great food and wine.

Had a wonderful luncheon here with the VP of Coca Cola and part of his management team today, of which, one of them(Manny) recommended this wonderful little restaurant in Whittier. First of all, driving through Whittier to get here with it’s brick laden roads was a pleasure as it’s such a charming town. It got even better when I easily discovered parking readily available in the adjacent metered lot for 25 cents an HOUR – Woohoo! We were seated immediately on arrival and had a very nice table. Décor utilized a lot of dark grays that were integrated into the walls as well as tables and chairs: very modern and hip. Not 5 minutes passed before the head chef came out to greet us and go over some of the things on the menu. At that point I just knew this was going to be a winning experience with good food. You could tell by the tone of his voice, that he was passionate about his profession and food. He couldn’t recommended just one thing because everything(he said) was good. Well, I decided upon the Sirloin and fries. The steak came out shortly and was grilled over mesquite to the perfect medium.(per my request). The fries were crispy and tasty. The carrots and broccoli that garnished the meal were prepared perfectly, being cooked straight through but still maintaining their crisp and taste. Just plain wonderful I will come back to Seta again for sure. But next time, I’m bringing prettier company – and what a perfect town to find it in. Like they say, «They’re prettier in Whitter!» :)

Seta first came to my attention when my mother and I attended a food and wine tasting event in July. Their Peruvian ceviche was the best dish we had and we definitely wanted to check out the rest of their menu. When my brother came into town, we decided that Seta would be the perfect place to go for a nice family meal. However, when we looked at the menu online, we noticed that the ceviche was missing! My mom called the restaurant and they assured us that Chef Molina would prepare the ceviche specially for us, and that any other requests could be accommodated with a little advance notice. Obviously, we were thrilled and could not wait to get there. As high as our expectations were, I have to say that the entire team at Seta exceeded them by far! Our server, Brandon, was extremely helpful and attentive, offering suggestions and stopping by our table frequently to check on our needs. AND, Chef Molina himself came to our table to welcome us, tell us a little bit about each dish and how it was prepared, and to check how we enjoyed each course. He even came to say goodnight as he headed out, but not before sending over an assortment of desserts with his compliments! Even our server noticed the special attention we received and we truly felt like VIPs! I dine out a lot, from food truck to high-end establishments, and I have to say that our meal at Seta was hands down one of the best dining experiences ever. Thank you so much for making our evening so memorable; we will definitely be back!!!

This was our first visit and definitely will not be our last. BRENNAN was impeccable — as were the food, the cocktails, and the experience overall. My Mom picked us up from the airport after a long week at a conference out of town. We decided to celebrate her birthday and wanted to try something new. Have the UPTOWNCOCKTAIL. Just do it. Along with the HOT little Rolston and creamy butter, We started with the Grilled Cheese Squares(triangles!) Ceasar Salad and the special, Tuscan Soup. Exceptional. Mom had the Fish special — Grouper with a creamy lime sauce over rice with veggies. I don’t like fish but I would order this dish in a heartbeat! We shared the filet with the Mashed potatoes and truffle OMG! A little scoop of vanilla bean ice cream with fresh raspberries and mint leaf garnish. Truly refreshing. Ask for Brendan. Try this place. You won’t be disappointed.

As a part of the community it’s always great to have a place that serves delicious food to support. My family and I are all about dinning at locally owned restaurants. Seta’s food is great, but their service not so much. I have gone there on multiple occasions… Time and time again hoping they have improved their service. We have had several incidents happen from not getting our order right, forgetting to bring people’s main courses, to not letting us know something wasn’t available on the menu until we questioned why it wasn’t out yet. On all of those occasions the restaurant wasn’t full so I feel like this is inexcusable. It’s one thing to have an off day, but to consistently have issues? We will probably be looking for another local restaurant to support going forward.

Seta is a beautiful classy little place that seems so out of place for Whittier. I came here for Dine LA and had the center cut sirloin medallions and chocolate cake. The steak dish didn’t try to do add anything too frilly, but stuck with a simple cream cheese mashed potato and some veggies. The cabernet reduction sauce was a classic pairing with the steak. The chocolate cake was in that same vein in that it was simple and not warped into anything too unfamiliar. The heaviness of the cake was balanced by some slices of citrus and a berry sauce, which I liked, since I’ve never been a fan of chocolate cakes for the fact that they always seem too decadent. What I liked about Seta is that although the décor may depict a restaurant trying to be fancy and trendy, the food’s strength is in the classic familiar tastes done well.

Delicious! Got the Seto burger and its cooked very well. The fries are probably the best Ive had in awhile, cooked nice and crunchy but not overcooked. The Shrimp a la Diabla is tasty with a kick but not over the top. Service was impeccable. Our waiter is attentive and very polite. Décor is very sophisticated and chic. The little sister and I ended up here while driving aimlessly through our hood looking for some decent food. We saw there was brunch with bottomless mimosas and quickly decided this would be it. Not sure if it’s because we were there in stark daylight but the place looks a little beaten up. I did get that they had this sexy, modern vibe going on, which again in the dark it may work but in the day you can see the beaten up chairs and place mats and the water glasses smelled like they weren’t dried right… ew. Whatever. I ordered the tri-color chilaquiles off the brunch menu and the bottomless mimosas. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good the food and drinks were. Our waitress was kinda not nice at first but towards the end she smiled a few times. She never did refill my sister’s orange juice, but my alcohol kept flowing. I left buzzed. We paid about $ 50 which is expensive for a brunch for 2 people but whatever. We make it rain all over Whittier(in pennies and quarters if course.) I am curious to try them again for dinner, and maybe I will change my rating. Who knows… I don’t have a rhyme or reason. For now all I can say is the food is decent, the place and the service are lukewarm. The end.
