We ended up here after going to another spot that was super packed. We had over 12 people with us at first then eventually there were over 25 of us and this place was perfect given how empty it was. Music was great and we were having a good time until 12 – 12:30a when we were told we had to leave because they were now having a ‘private party’. We had just ordered another round and now being kicked out?! Not cool, very rude and unprofessional. Guess they don’t care about making money given that our group made up more than 80% of the patrons in there.

Bad selection of beer. I’m pretty sure the beer label does not match what’s in the leg! I know my 805 and this isn’t it! Taps are flat and barely cold!

If you want to have a beer, hang out, bullshit, and listen to some good music. This is the place. Thursday’s got a great band that plays by the name of Steel Rod, two dollar Tuesday’s, and a dj Saturdays or Friday’s. Vivian makes great food at a great price. Whole staff is cool people. I’d definitely recommend this place.

Best spot in uptown Whittier to have a cold beer and listen to a great band steel rod! every Thursday night other days have some good specials too a must see if your in uptown Whittier.

The Real McCoys was closed for cockroach infestation. No construction was seen. I did observed a roach in the restroom sink a few weeks back. Too Bad…

Pretty chill, laid back bar. The last time I was there was a Motown night and it wasn’t very busy. My BF & I had a good time, he’s been tattooed by the owner so he deff wanted to chk this place out. The staff is really cool. Try to «Mexicali» beer when your there. :)

–1 Stars! Not a place to relax and have a good time. save yourself a headache and go to 6740! The women with then Peggy Bundy hair do and the over weight Hank Hill are the creepiest creeps! Horie service. No wonder why it’s the emptiest bar in uptown Whittier! And your wondering why why can’t pay your bills! Take a wild guess! Be professional and run a business. Don’t run potential business out the door!!!

**This is an update for the Monthly Sunday Soul Binge**
Since my last review, I’ve been back for 2 more installments of the Sunday Soul Binge. Held on the first Sunday of the month. Music was on point as usual, they had another bartender on staff and it made a WORLD OF A DIFFERENCE. I don’t know if the kitchen was open, I didn’t see anyone ordering food, but it’s possible that it could have been a better experience than last. I really enjoy that they have rotating guest DJ’s every month, aside from the 2 usual guys that put it on. Really give you a good mix of 60’s/70’s Soul/​Funk/​Sweet Soul/Souldies…that type of good Drink a beer on a Sunday type of music.

I was confused at this place because the décor was Monsters and Rock Stars but the people were «gangster»? I loved the patio space to sit and smoke, despite rap blasting everywhere the people and the vibe seemed super cool everyone was having a great time. Minus two stars because the young fake 90’s «chola» bartender tried her hardest to pretend we weren’t standing there staring at her for a cool 10 minutes before another (older) awesome bartender came and served us, and quickly. To the owner: maybe retraining for the young bartender so she wont be making you lose money and business, I would have stood at this awesome place all night if I wasn’t dreading how long it would take to get my next drink!

PLEASE AVOID! I was here two days ago and saw rascal flashing his gun while taking pictures with other homeboys. This is a fucking hood spot with no safety. THEY ALLOW THEIR PATRONS TO CARRY LOADED GUNS! Stay away from this horrible establishment!

This place blows and has shitty customer service

This place sucks for many reasons. At closing time (apparently 12:30 on a Friday night) I was offered another round by the bartender. However, literally 5 minutes after I was served a worker came by saying I had less than 5 minutes to drink my beer. I emphasized the fact that the bartender told me I could have another round. He took my beer from in front of me and had another lady pour it down the drain. We had an altercation afterward even though there were still other people in the bar. I’m assuming they were regulars because they all stayed and hung out after.
Seriously just go somewhere else. It was $ 5 for a pint of coors lite, which they didn’t give me my money back for.
Spin lounge has a great atmosphere and is open til 2am.
I can’t even put into words how disappointed I was with this place,… It was even my 3^rd time going there. HORRIBLE customer service. Wow

Before everyone gets all pissy– this was just my experience… A couple weeks back… Figured it was early on a Friday night, I was debating on getting a drink here since I saw good reviews
Basically it smelled gross and the place was dead except for were two older cholos kicking it… and a family that walked in… I turned around and left to another bar… I mean with Havana house, bottle room, and the 40… there were cleaner and more happening places for a single chick to get a drink.
Maybe this is a good late nite or music venue but for a non– party cocktail this place came off as a musty guy’s sac for dudes who want to brew cheaply… I didn’t expect it to feel so divey… for that I would go to the embers or slam dunk

Good vibes. Had a couple of beers with the gf. Staff are nice. The big chubby guy gave me a free beer :) i was very happy about that. The live band was really great too. (they ask if u want any song u want to hear). :)

Was an okay spot.

I really like the chill vibe of this bar.
It used to be Firehouse grill.
Cheap prices, good service from the bartenders and cool music. Crowd is mixed and pretty chill.

I remember when this spot was the Firehouse Grill, but I wasn’t really feeling it. I think the atmosphere is way better now. Great cheap beer prices, and the bartenders are really cool. Can get a little packed, but there is usually enough space for everyone.

I’m not really into the ‘bar scene’ but this place has a really chill environment. The people who come here and the staff are all pretty cool.
The beers are pretty averagely priced and it’s pretty cool when the band is here.
I definitely recommend it if you’re ever in need of a beer and a place to hang out at night.

Some friends and I came to this bar a couple of weeks ago after a late movie, and it’s our new place to go. Very friendly owner, staff, and patrons. The beer is affordable and everyone here is welcoming which makes for a great atmosphere. They also have a band every Thursday that plays a wide variety of music and well. TL;DR version: this place is great, so check it out.

My new «post-​party weekend» spot ever! Not only do they have great beers on tap, the simple food menu is AMAZING! Family owned and the flavor shows! I tried a chilli Verde chicken tamale and it was perfect. Vivian cooked it and she told me that she had made the sauce for her son and they’re was leftover so she garnished my tamales with it and… well, i had to Unilocal about it! At $ 2.50 it’s more than worth it. I had enough to get a couple tacos, too, and only spend $ 5.50 on food. I’m definitely stopping here every time I’m done shopping and enjoying Uptown Whittier! Perfect to admire yr finds and relax. Definitely check this spot out!
