Jesse’s Barber Shop

Sadly this is a very unprofessional establishment. I had an appointment at 6 pm and even with the «open» sign outside, the doors were locked with no one in sight and no answer on their phone. As I was leaving after waiting a bit I see a group of young boys locking up and giggling as they clearly saw me notice them.
The owner should really either hire adults or at least someone one who can babysit his employees.

The Unilocal hours are wrong. I showed up on Sunday at 3 and they said they were closed when the hours say they close at 4.

This place is horrible it’s dirty as can be, there’s only 1 to 3 guys working so wait time is long. On top of that they take appointments which is fine if you have enough staff to accommodate walk ins as well but they don’t. I will never come back here this place is the slums!

Not the best. they are constantly on their phones in the middle of haircuts
.get lazy with haircuts. depending on their day. Gossip… and they always expect a tip regardless of how awful they do the job. they are never consistant
. Its always dirty. Sometimes they are even pretty rude. Save your money, too expensive for what you get.

Best barbershop in Whittier every other one sucks i had to go through a few bad haircuts before finally getting a good one thanks to finding this place !

This shop is set up in a what used to be a window tinting garage and not very inviting if you want to take the family. Loud music, cool flat screen set up but not a very professional set up here. Aside from that; the barbers do a good job from what I’ve seen.

First time getting a hair cut in 10+ years. I have been bald since highschool and decided to grow out my hair for NoShaveNovember. Decided to come check this place out as i always drove past this cool looking garage turned into a barber shop. Got cut by Adrian and made me looking fresh. It does say on their Unilocal page that they take Visa but turns out they are cash only. Will be back forsure. That’s if I decide to keep my hair. I do miss being bald.

Gilbert cut my 2.5 year old sons hair and did an amazing job!!! We will be going to him from now on for my son!

After making several attempts to find a barber to machine cut our squirmy hyper active 14 month old, we found ourselves at jesses barber shop next to the car wash on Whittier and ocean view. We were assisted by Gilbert who is pretty much a freakin baby whisperer. Long story short, we loved the end result and will be coming back.

Had a really good experience here today. Brought my 5 year old boy for a cut and I wish I would have gotten the guy’s name but he was covered in tattoos so he’s hard to miss. Though my boy’s a little squirming with the machine, he left him looking dapper as heck.
So why the missing star? It says here on Unilocal they take cards, they don’t. Minor thing, it also says you can get a couple bucks off when you check-​in. They don’t, not unless Jesse happens to be there (he wasn’t there) other than that, it’s good.

Staff is friendly, the guy that cut my sons hair did a good job and was awesome with him.

I’ve been bringing my son to Jesse’s barber shop since he was 4 years old.
After the first cut I made up my mind to never go to another Barber shop again.

Been coming to Jesse for 6 years and will follow him wherever he goes. Its hard to find someone to can upkeep my hair and hes the best. Big ups Jess and gongrats on the new shoo

Hair cuts looked decent, i couldnt stay in that place another second so i really couldnt find out for myself. customer service was horrendous, no welcome and i wasnt notified that there were people with appointments ahead of me. Everyone else waiting all hd a confused look on their face. Not a friendly atmosphere and the music was way too loud. I live in whittier and drive to fullerton to get a damn haircut just because i know what im getting.

So my son and I go into this place not knowing what to expect. We waited about 20 minutes while one of them played on his phone. People started walking in and he made sure to get them before us. After an hour or so we (my ten year old and I) got to sit down. The dumba$$ owner puts in a rated XXX song. More f-​words then NWA. To top it off, the cuts sucked!!. If you have children this is not the place for you, if you have hair its not the place either. They will not see me back!

There great in cutting hair but customer service wise not so much. I’ve came here a couple of times and loved the cuts but just really felt not welcomed. The last time I came I waited for 2 hrs and still didn’t get a cut and ppl where just cutting in front of me. They kept on saying they have appointments but that’s bs. They never greeted me when I walked in or the fact of telling me when I will be next I just walked up and left and never went back. Gilbert is the best tho by far.

Seriously the most unprofessional place I’ve ever been into. I walked in with my son and sat down. No one said to sign in or advised me of a wait time (granted there were only 2 people sitting) they just looked at us and kept cutting their customers hair. Which is fine. I get it no one here obviously knows how to acknowledge anyone that walks into their business. (Rude) One by one the guys finished and just started to kick back, then began to BS & look up stupid lame YouTube videos. No one told me, I would be next or advised me someone will be right with us. Just plain ignored us for 35 minutes. Really this place needs to get their stuff together. I ended up leaving. I don’t care how good these guys cut hair, I’m not about to waste my money on a bunch of over grown immature barbers. This place doesn’t even deserve a star. Don’t waste your time here.

Tried this place for the first and last time. I was excited as I’ve seen this place while driving and it just looks chill. I got there and asked for a simple classic comb-​over. I already had the top long, just wanted the sides shorter and the top cleaned up slightly.
He finished and I noticed he cut more off the top than I wanted, it was no longer a comb-​over because I had nothing to comb over… it was short and uneven.
I got home, showered and out gel in it and realized I could make it work… I couldn’t comb it over like I wanted but I’d just spike it. THEN I SAW WHAT PISSED ME OFF… Somehow he missed some hair in the back. I got a 1 all around but I had a small chunk of hair left uncut and long. So long I could twist it. It was just odd as it stood alone randomly, I don’t get how he missed that. I had my dad chop it off with scissors and alls good now.
I’m pissed though bc I paid $ 15 for that and it wasn’t even done right.
Gave this place a shot but one bad cut is all it takes to not come back… sorry.

first off Viridiana it’s a barber shop what do u expect! If u wanted a quick cut u should have went to super cuts! Also, if u didn’t want to wait you should have made an appointment! Taking a phone call while giving a service is expected, they don’t have a receptionist so how else will they get their appointments. They have movies on for obviously the customers. My son is only 2 always gets a great cut from Gilbert I recommend him to anyone. You may have to wait but that’s what normally happens when u are trying to get a cut from talented barbers!

Super annoyed with this place waited 2 hours for someone to finally cut my brothers hair. I understand they had a lot of ppl but they are so unprofessional, they are watching TV and talking among themselves about dumb stuff. Also one of the guys was like honestly texting like every 2 minutes and talking on the phone. We came here because it was the only place opened around the area on a Sunday at 4 pm but will NEVER COME BACK! I GIVE THEM ZERO STARS!!!
oh and btw the haircut wasn’t even all that. Some much for their motto «we dnt make mistakes we fix them «they should say «come waste your time while we talk about our bullshit» I totally agree they shouldn’t rush a haircut and do it right but come on guys a little focus (not laughing all the time at a movie im sure you’ve seen a million times because you obviously know the lines) and customer service would go a long way.
