My friends & I come here usually every week. We love coming on days Teresa is bartending! Her drinks are always good and she’s always cracking jokes. Not to mention, her Michelada is a must have! For the price and atmosphere, you’re missing out! I believe she works beginning of the week at nighttime. Thanks for the great hospitality, Teresa!

We frequented this location on a Sunday night to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It is pretty much everything you would want from a dive bar. Cheap stiff drinks, pool table, and juke box music. Bartender was an absolute doll! If we’re not at the Venice Room or Al’s you can definitely find us here in the future.

I’ve been going to this place for years! I met some friends last night, last minute get together. The bartenders are great! Except last night Teresa fuck what a shitty attitude! I would never ever go again on her shift! Even if the drinks were free! If you can’t handle your job cause your a lazy fatass then your in the wrong buss.

Place has inexpensive drinks, paid $ 3.50 for a Modelo… or was it $ 3.75? Crazy art of naked satanical chicks on the wall. Only downfall is that it’s a cash only bar, but they have an ATM.

Definitely a dive bar. Older crowd. The bartenders here are friendly and have a heavy hand. Cannot beat the prices. The art on the walls can be disturbing but it’s called Embers for a reason. They have a pool table and music player. I will visit this place randomly.

Okay, so for my birthday this year we decided a dive bar crawl was the name of the game. We started the night at Embers Lounge– and never managed to move on to anywhere else. So the crawl was a fail, but the night was full of win! The drinks are stiff and cheap. The crowd was really chill. Pool, darts and a jukebox with an amusingly eclectic selection made for one heck of an evening. And just like everyone else has mentioned– the artwork alone is worth a visit. Make sure you bring cash!

The thing about 5 star reviews is that they are often not believable. I wouldn’t rate Embers the same way I would a fancy bar in downtown LA. So keep that in mind when you see 5 stars. As far as dive bars go this one is one fine example of how to do it right. There is beer, liquor, and wine, all at a price that invites you to over drink. Plenty of bar space as well as booths. Sinister paintings of hell and hot chick’s. Best of all no one there gives a crap who you are or what you do for a living, just that you can hold your liquor. For the bar pool(not like swimming) crowd they have a nice sub par pool table. For the jukebox queens they have a very nice selection and even a tad bit too loud speaker system. Parking is ez and in case someone comes in who you didn’t want to see, they have exits in the front and rear. As so many mentioned there is a donut spot next door, which will always be a good idea until the next day. Only thing that must be said is that the bar is cash only, so keep that in mind. On the other hand 20 bucks goes a long way there.

This has become a spot for me to come after work, let loose, drink a cold one & watch sports highlights on the tv. The place is also half a mile from my house so I can practice no drinking and driving. If you ever go to this place and joann is bartending, tip well, she’s a sweetheart.

In a time when dive bars were nearly extinct and polluted with over priced craft beers and yuppies, paying $ 15 for a «Cosmo». The Embers stays true to dive bar culture. Working class, locals, and misfits crowd the floor of this«party in hell» themed bar! Drinks are cheap and stiff. Beers are cold and frothy. So if you ever find yourself in Whittier head over to The Embers and partake in one of Frank Bowers devilish masterpiece paintings.

Went there this weekend for a favorite pals b day party Expected a dead divey bar. The kind come creep smells your hair at. You know the kind I’m talking about! But this bar was actually kinda rad! It had a jukebox not a dj jes! Also the music was a nice blend of everything. Danced to some oldies. tossed some back to rock n roll and watched a white boy get down on some honkey tonk It’s was fun The drinks were super cheap And I like that they had stools and booths and a pool table… The only bad thing I have to say was they need at least 2 bartenders.. I probably would spent way more money if there wasn’t such a wait for drinks but the lady did say they’ve been picking up on customers lately and she really was such a doll in hooking it up with free shots. Also I don’t know where tamales came from all I know is it was put down on my table and they were awesome! Probably my new dive bar…

For as long as I’ve lived in Whittier I never once thought of going to Embers, but after seeing all the great reviews I figured why not stop in for a drink and see something new. Sure, Embers is a fine neighborhood bar. Classic dive bar in every sense of the word. Yeah, it has some weird paintings that look much better in the photos then they do in real life, but I probably would have gotten along just fine in life had I never went there. In a nutshell if your a local its a fine place to get a drink and kick it wit da homies.

This is definitely a divey joint. Located in a strip mall nuzzled between a Chris and Pitts and Winchell’s Donuts hides this little bar. Inside it’s dark and outdated. Some interesting artwork is painted on the wall, there’s an area full of pool tables and a jukebox playing a super eclectic jam of 80’s hits, heavy metal ballads and Mexican mariachi sounds. There are a ton of tables and even it being a Saturday night, they had no problem accommodating our large party for Jeni C’s birthday festivities. The lady behind the bar was great. She was super friendly and had a heavy hand when pouring. The best part? You could order a big top shelf drink and it would only set you back $ 4. A steal! This is definitely a locals destination, but everyone was friendly even for us hooligans looking to have a drink or three. I’ll definitely return for some cheap spirits!

Come for the beer, stay for the red deviled naked girly wall art. I actually thought this was a cool little dive bar, since we wanted a late Sunday kickback spot, this was it. It was on our bar hopping route. I’ve also came here on a Friday night, I think we passed because it was crowded & we just weren’t feeling it that night, although it’s probably better for others, just not us were more slow lounging old farty types. It’s cash only, no draft, strictly a bottled beer, hard liquor & I think wine. Pool table, Jukebox and yep we saw the tamale lady(now I also know where to stop by to get tamales, they smelled good!!) Just to think I’ve lived there my almost my entire childhood & had never been in until late yesterday. We’ll be back for those lazy afternoons of boozing on the run…

I have nothing negative to say about The Embers. I like it because it’s small, down the street from my house, the art work on the walls(probably what’s its most famous for.) creates the perfect atmosphere for this place. It’s fun to sit at the bar, have a few drinks, listen to music, shoot the shit with the Bartender or the fellow patron sitting nearest to you. Pool table, Jukebox, and a tamale lady who walks in on Sundays around 5pm. Sure it’s nothing classy, but it has character, and I like That! Thank you Joanna and Trisha for taking care of me! If you the reader is planning to come and check this place out for the first time, please come in and be respectful, there are good people here. Would I Come Back? Yes.
