Whenever I come here there is always a line because the food is a great bang for your buck. I always get the smallest orange chicken box. $ 2.39 for the box. Can’t beat that if you ask me.

Okay, so I drive by this place almost everyday. Tempting. During the evening this place is always packed with the line out the door. I finally came in today since this would be my last day of eating unhealthy. I see many reviews stating that this place’s food is disgusting. Honestly, its not disgusting but it does lack flavor. Got the chowmae, fried rice, beef w/broccoli and orange chicken. Sides taste better than the main entrees. For food i give it two stars but i give it three stars because of their customer service. They are great and real nice. Food is cooked fast and they also give you big portions. I wont try it again.

I was in the area and craving Chinese food but probably should have went somewhere else. I ordered the BBQ pork and it wasn’t good. No flavor at all and under cooked. Never again!

I’ve been here a few times and decided it was time to review. First off… it’s fast food Chinese so expectations cannot be that of a table service restaurant. It’s a lot like Panda Express without the décor. Which is fine with me because I get my food to go. The noodles and orange chicken were good and I thought very tasty. The price was right(under $ 7) for a good-sized portion. I also appreciate the napkin, soy sauce packet, and fork for my take away order. Props to the lady who waited on me who remained friendly, efficient, and professional despite the long line and the rambunctious child pitching whatever fit he was pitching.

Subpar, greasy, stale, soggy, crappy Chinese food. Two stars is me being liberal. You pretty much can tell the quality of the place when you walk inside. Follow your instincts, let your conscience be your guide and don’t make the same mistake I did. I at least won’t be making the mistake of returning.

I love this place, best Chinese food I’ve had so far. Panda Express doesn’t come close to this.

Food is horrible. It looks like it stays in those food containers all day long. The employees look like they don’t know how to maintain the food. I’m afraid to eat here. I’m surprised they have an ‘A’ rating by the health inspectors. And this is the their consistent way of doing business.

5.99 Combo Special can’t beat the price… great food fresh. If your in a hurry and don’t know what to get, just run in and grab a couple of combos, the staff is friendly and you get a nice amount of food in your combo. JUSTONETHINGCASHONLY.

Was on my way to Whittier Presbyterian hospital to visit my 103 year old grandma and bring my mom some food for lunch. Mom was craving Chinese food and this spot was on the way. I had never been to China Wok Express but expected that it would be something like Panda Express. I ordered two double combos for $ 6.50 each. They give you your money’s worth as they fill your styrofoam container to almost overflowing capacity. On both orders I ordered half chow mein, half fried rice. For sides I ordered broccoli beef, string green beans, kung pao chicken with veggies, and pepper steak(which was my favorite out of all of them — unfortunately the guy before me took most of it and I asked for what was left over). After paying, I checked my bag to make sure I had utensils and came to find out no fortune cookies! I asked for a couple and the girl at the counter says, «that will be 10 cents each». Wtf? lol, who charges for fortune cookies, especially after you bought food? «Whatever»,(I said in my head), gave her a dollar and asked for 10 cookies. I ate about 5 of them the rest of the way to the hospital. The fortunes were all awesome; at 10 cents a fortune what a steal! I hope they come true. The food was decent. My 103 year old grandma even put her hospital food aside and ate from what I had brought. She smiled in relief when she found out what I had brought and that she didn’t have to eat her hospital food. I agreed. It did beat her hospital food. To China Wok Express; please make sure you have more peppered steak. It’s your best item. Also, you might want to consider not charging for fortune cookies, or at least limit one per combo. Or at least tell us that we have to pay for them before and not after we already paid. Thanks!

I went here on an early afternoon with my boyfriend and roomate because we were starving. We walked in and it was way too crowded and loud with only two women working. And to our surprise they only take cash. So we were forced to use their no name small ATM. By the time i got to the front to order i was being yelled at by one of the ladies. I had to tell her five times what i wanted. We finally get through to the cash register to pay and were left there waiting for a good few minutes. I sit down and start to eat and find a medium length black hair lodged between some food with a grey spot. Thats when i stopped eating my plate. Several minutes later my roomate pulls an even longer one out of his. He goes to talk to the workers andd they blamed it on me because i have dark hair. They denied it to the end and would not give us our money back. Would definitley not go here again. Only giving it a one star because i cant give it anything lower.

I have been a fan of this place since I was a child. My sister used to take us there every friday for dinner. I recently visited this place for the first time in many years.

Basically 3 stars. No better than Panda Express but at least they are generous with the portions. I wouldn’t say the food is terrible and the price is very reasonable. I order the orange chicken and the beef and broccoli which are fine.

My family has been coming here for years. They do have good and bad days. For me it’s more good days. They serve a crispy chicken we love! And the chow mein is good. Both ladies have always been nice but one does give less than the other. The orange chicken is a Lil different but still good. We always go early before 2. It’s super small and there is creepy eyes guy looking from kitchen so we just get it to go. I always tip.

I’m ok with coming to this place because it’s less than 10 minutes from my house. The things I don’t like about this place, It’s very small &&; sometimes it can get SUUUPEEEER crowded and I don’t like that because it makes me nervous lol. Another thing is you never know when they’re gonna have something and when they’re not. It’s always different. Sometimes when you come, somebody has ordered for a party and there’s not the type of food you are looking for. Other times they don’t have beef broccoli which is VERRRY common side that everyone gets. So you would think they would keep it. Sometimes they give you a lil’ bit of the meat other times a lot. Same with broccoli, I ordered the chow mein twice but the second time I didn’t really like it. So I’m not gonna be getting it, idk maybe it’s because it was cold while everything else was freshly cooked… Sometimes the workers are VERRY friendly and they great me other times they don’t greet me nor do they smile… I try to brush this off because I know people have bad days &&; who knows if they had a rude customer right??? but NOPE that’s a regular thing for them. Always something to expect… You just gotta wish you catch them on the right days, to have fresh food/smiles/&&; amazing customer service.

Service is good food was ok but they are cheap. They water down their Sirachi and soy sauce. And they charge 50 cents for refills. I definitely won’t be back here again.

If I could give this place a Big Fat Zero I would! This Chinese place has got to be the bottom of the barrel of all Chinese places Ive ever been too! Several months back I decided to try this place out because there wasn’t any other Chinese places near by. At that time I wasn’t too happy with the quality of food or service received at all but at that time I thought maybe the lady at the counter & the cook could of just had a bad day. So I decided to give them a second shot. Bad mistake! They are so unorganized from the second you walk in all the way until your foot is out the door. They don’t understand a dam thing you say. If you ask for pork, your going to receive chicken. The dishes that are precooked that are sitting under the heat lamps in metal containers taste like they have been there for days on end. Everything is soggy & not fresh by no means. The quality & quantity are horrific! I ordered a Wonton soup & had to repeat myself at least 10 times«Is there vegetables in my soup»? The lady just looked at me & said«ya ya ya ya ya». Needless to say I opened up my container of soup & there was soggy wonton floating everywhere, pieces of meat, shredded cabbage, blahhhh. On a serious note Ive had better frozen Chinese meals from a grocery store. You have to beg for condiments; soy sauce, hot sauce, forks, spoons, your lucky if you get napkins. Everything taste likes its been refrigerated & warmed up several times. It taste like left over, left overs! I’m really shocked how this place stays in business. Never again! WARNING: CHINAWOKEXPRESSISHAZARDOUSTOYOURHEALTH! DON’T DOIT!

Food is DRY. Everything tastes old like it’s been sitting around all day under those heat lamps. The chicken was like eating hard chewy jerky with sauce on it. Everyone talking about the poor customer service is absolutely right on. Just awful. Needless to say… I’ll be getting my cheap Chinese food fix elsewhere from now on.
